Honestly maybe this woman was just having a bad day but my experience here was absolutely ridiculous and rude in general I had just come from a long day of surfing I wanted something quick and easy.. And the old woman behind the bar with dark hair was extremely rude to me, she had a blue top on. I ordered French onion soup over the phone and asked for the "bread" on the side I arrived about 10 mins later,nobody could find my order... bc she didn't even put it in! This other sever which she was nice simply just asked if I meant the crotons on the side, which I replied yes The woman in the blue shirt starts arguing with me saying "she said bread on the phone" "she said bread it's not bread it's crotons" croutons are in fact bread but besides the point I feel like it was a pretty straight forward request. I don't know why the woman who took my order was so adamant about proving her point over the fact I said croutons instead of bread.. and arguing saying stuff about it when the other server had it handled. The woman who are arguing me over the bread thing, proceeded to put my order in but then ignored me and didn't cash me out. She immediately went to talk to some guys at the bar instead of cashing me out, at that point I stood there for another good 10 minutes and still didn't get rang up so ultimately I decided to leave, as I was ignored and argued with over me using the term "bread" instead of "crouton" I wouldn't recommend this place for food, a lot of locals say the food is only good if you've been drinking and the wings are always undercooked, so I don't think I'd risk trying this place out.. Second time I've been there two years. I only hit this place when I come visit my father in Florida. It's one of my dad's favorites. My first review was a five star. I do believe. Same for this one. Scooters is a family friendly place where if you are a local, you are bound to run into a friend or neighbor. Service is always good - staff are always friendly and the food is pretty good. I usually default to the same things, burgers (with onion rings and not the fries) or wings but everything I've tried is decent. Bottom Line: In the words of Tobey Keith..... I Love this Bar!! First off, I don't know how they put out what they do for such reasonable prices. Some of it is just plain old bar food, done well and what you would expect. Then there is the Ribeye. I was thoroughly surprised AND impressed. $20 for a 16oz ribeye is close to what you would pay at the grocery store for an uncooked steak. The veggies were there for No Reason other than to make Grandma happy that the meal was balanced. Bland steamed veggie parts. The fries were frozen crappy crinkle cut. Asking for some thousand island dressing made the first few bites, while they were still hot, hit the carb craving. None of that was needed because the steak was filling. The Mac & Cheese appetizer seems like it is also just a premix box BUT they put some cheese down on the griddle and put a big ole blob of that cheesy stuff on top. Then they wait until the cheese on the bottom melts and even gets crispy and brown then they put it on a plate w the cheese up. We all fought over the crispy cheese top. Also at the table was Chicken Fajitas, which were plentiful and good. Not rave about but good. There was also a second steak cooked to that person's desired temperature and it was also perfect. Thanks yelpers! I was almost turning around after we drove up to Scooters for lunch. The atmosphere is a rough bar feel. No hostess at the door when you enter you seat yourself. It's a very relaxed atmosphere with a jukebox playing. The food was thankfully much better than expected. The food gets a 4! The service was Definitely a 3. We had chicken wings which are 10pcs of chicken wings only with no choice of how hot you like them. Were I not feeling so generous, this would probably be 2 stars. Given the past reviews, I expected much more. On the positive sides, prices were low, food portions abundant, drink pours generous and service appropriate for a dive bar. But the offensive boisterous clientele completely ignored by management, and most importantly, the food, were huge disappointments. Ingredients of dubious quality, in some cases undercooked, overly salty and otherwise lacking in flavor (meatball subs, shrimp scampi, chicken parm, fried chicken and fried clams) were consistently poor. OMG! I can't say enough good things about this place and I eat here often. I'm in love with the fried mushrooms, the wings, and hands-down, best fish and chips on the Treasure Coast! Large portions for very reasonable prices, which feels like a business operating pre-Covid Insanity. Old school-style wait staff that pays attention to every table they have for the most part. Feels very classic. A little bit crowded, but doesn't feel stuffy at all. Great variety of music on the jukebox. But the food and the pricing are perfect for a great night out to dinner and delicious food for anyone that remembers how it was on the Treasure Coast six years ago and before. I get excited every time I come here. The only thing I don't like is the outdoor seating at the entrance the restaurant where all the smokers and drunks are. They're all friendly and fun, but it doesn't make a great impression for first timers and the smoke is very strong. It doesn't do wonders for your appetite. They should have some kind of set up in the back of the building rather than in the entrance of the store. That atmosphere doesn't bother me if I'm just hanging out, but when I bring my kids there or a guest that isn't into that atmosphere, it leaves one wondering what the inside is gonna be like. The food is the only reason I would ever come back here. The service was exceptionally bad. After my girlfriend walks in to let a waitress know we'll be sitting outside. Me and my girlfriend sit outside for over 30 minutes waiting on a waitress to get our drinks before we just decide to call the store to order our food. The woman taking my order acts like she doesn't understand ENGLISH over the phone. She can't even explain that you guys don't have mild or medium chicken wing flavors which is fine and all, but why did I have to go all the way inside the store and talk to 3 different workers about it to figure that out(completely ridiculous). Let me mind you I only bought 20 chicken wings, half extra hot half regular due to no mild or medium sauce. So they decided that I'm getting all my chicken wings EXTRA HOT. On top of that, when I sent my girlfriend in to the store to grab our food, they couldn't find our (ticket) to tell them what we ordered, so she had to tell 4 different people that we just ordered 20 chicken wings. I have known this place has been here for a while but never made my way there. It is hidden in the Winn Dixie plaza behind some foliage. You walk in and it is divey. Clearly a local favorite and drinking hole. Ordered the chicken Philly and my G/F and a burger. Her burger was cooked perfectly and large. My chicken Philly was probably the best I have ever had. Chicken was juicy and moist. Not over cooked. Plenty of fries. Server was good about checkin up on us. Again, it's a divey place but don't let that scare you. The food is good. The service was good. Nobody should put this baby in the corner! Regardless, in it's little corner in a shopping plaza off Bridge Rd, sits this little "dive bar/restaurant". I'm relatively new to the area and after my first time there with my mom for lunch, I was sold. Then we decided to put their To Go service to the test, and like Baby from DIrty Dancing, this place flew off the charts! For lunch we were the first or second table at the place and our waitress was the best, she went out of her way to go down to another store to get my mom a Coke since the only serve Pepsi, there only flaw at this point. However, the burgers were perfectly cooked, the fries were crsipt on the outside, soft on the inside and HOT! The prices were very reasonable for the portions and the fast friendly service! For takeout, we ordered around 6pm on a Friday. I got there and it was standing room only, but i waited maybe 5 minutes before my food was ready and it was just the way we ordered, the wrapped the accouterments so they didn't get warm from the burgers or get the buns soggy (thank you!) and everything was great! If you haven't been, you have to try it. I don't normally eat burgers unless ive cooked it myself, but this place as won me over. read more
