After a short drive from Sioux Falls to Mitchell to visit the Corn Palace, I decided to stop in next door for lunch before heading back. It's a sports bar with pub food so how special could it be, right? Bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and onion. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had. I was astonished at how good it was. Flavorful, seasoned correctly, and juicy. You name it and this burger delivered. I had cole slaw to go along with it and couldn't have been happier. Large group of us showed up shortly after 11am. Manager wouldn't let us pull the nearest tables together for our entire party. When the last 5 people arrived the only table available was on the other side of the patio. Since we were told to wait into the last people arrived, we tried to pull that table over. A server told us no, so we didn't. The manager literally came out of the building so aggressive stating we yelled/swore at his server (we didn't). He was super argumentative and rude. If you're starving after visiting the corn palace, Scoreboard pub next door is a decent place to get your fill. The staff are all all nice and the food is good. We ordered the fries, honey bbq wings, hot wings, and onion rings. While eating the fries, we noticed the ketchup was sour but our waitress was very quick to apologize and replace it. The honey bbq wings had great flavor and the hot wings were tasty. The blue cheese tasted more like ranch though. It's a small business in Mitchell so even though my expectations weren't that high the food was satisfying and the service was good so I'm okay with it! read more

We stopped in after touring corn palace. We were hungry and going to break our stringent diet of the past 7 months and eat yummy bar food just once to celebrate the opening of COVID restrictions. Service to outdoor seating was FAST! Got our drinks and ordered food. After ordering we felt guilty about going off our diet. Wishing we didn't order we were so impressed that they somehow knew we didn't want our food. How did they know. We were told three times our food would be "right out" but amazingly it never showed up!! After 52 minutes of waiting we left cash for our diet drinks and left. We felt so much better after going down the street to get a fast salad. Other people who arrived after us got their food right away. 5 stars for knowing we didn't need to break our diet. read more

We visited Scoreboard a few weeks ago for dinner. It was a Sunday night and they had a very limited menu. I ordered chicken fingers and onion rings, my husband ordered a sandwich. The other option was a hotdog. We tried a regional beer they had on tap which was pretty good but not good enough to order a 2nd so we switched to bottled Coors Light. The Red Sox were on one of the TVs plus we got a dose of the local charm: We got to over hear talk about local high school & college sports, plus a girl talking about getting DUIs. read more

My SO and our dog accompanied me on a day trip to SD for work. On our way home we decided to stop and see the Corn Palace. We were starving and when you have a dog with you it typically limits your options to drive-thru fast food. We happened to see this place right next door with patio seating and decided to check it out. I had the Reuben and a side salad and my hubby had the chili dog and tater tots. It was all very tasty. Also, the bartender/waiter was SO NICE! He was super attentive and took great care of us. They must cater to people with pets a lot because he was even prepared with a doggy bowl of fresh water for my fur baby. I wish this place was closer to home.
