I have been to a few good steak house's (STK's and Gauchos to name a few) and this is my favourite by far. I now prefer a medium rare steak and cannot fault it from this place!! The parking there is not the greatest and can get very busy and hard to get a table at weekends if you don't book before hand (online booking is really quick and reliable), theses are some of the only negatives I have about this venue. The staff are really nice, happy to help and the food comes out pretty efficiently. The menu is pretty large and has a pretty big range of different meals from burgers to ribs and lobsters. Ive only ever tried the steak and ribs and can't fault them, they also do some lovely alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. Can get pretty expensive but hey you only live once.....

Excellent dinner out on a Sunday evening. The service was…read moregreat. We had a delightful server who made sure we did not walk away hungry and our water was always filled. Dinner for our table was the bottomless servings of meat, chips and salad for £30 per person. We added a nice bottle of wine and had a great dinner. We dined outside which was nice and someone stopped by and played the piano that is in public space so that added to the enjoyment. We will return when we get back to London.

If you roll in near closing time with Noah's Ark in tow, you might have a rough go of it. Granted I was there for the "early bird" 12-5 special, and I wouldn't necessarily think £19 works for steak and frites otherwise (but maybe). However for the bonus value it was spot-on. I did the "naked" version, not the special marinated variety, and it was still juicy and flavorful. Not to brag. Just kidding: I will proceed to brag, but I love starting a braggadocious statement that way. And who cares we all humble-brag here anyway. It's Yelp, where we act like foodies. Back to the original point: I know and love steak, and I can identify what part of the cow the cut is from, prime vs choice vs whatever else subpar you throw at us. Although they couldn't promise medium-rare (like all steaks should be ever), props for not over-promising. And kudos for juiciness even though jt wasn't prime. It was decent, but I probably wouldn't come back again. Certainly not on my own dime. I came here for a team lunch a few days ago. The restaurant lacks character...kind of feels like you're eating in a hotel restaurant. Nothing wrong with that, but it seemed it had the lackluster food to match. I opted for the grilled salmon while my colleagues got lamb and/or chicken. No one complained, but no one raved. The salmon was decent. Well-cooked and a good size portion. I would say this place does provide value. The service was again, fine but not noteworthy. With so many great places in London - particularly in this neighborhood - I would say pass on this place and head down the road for some much better fare with more character.

They really like pushing the onion thing too, it's part of sharing platter and part of a side to the steak. Next time, skip. Loved the desserts, the apple pie was a bit heavy, but great taste. I would happily travel for a steak here and I'm not even that fond of bovine meat. I've had better food here and for better value than in many trendy eateries in Soho. The selection of starters is yummy; they don't change much, so you better get a favorite. The beer glazed pork belly and the black pearl scallops are my pick, in all of their different incarnations. The portions are fair sized and won't leave you too full too early. For the mains, I usually go for the rump steak or the ribeye. You have a choice of sauces, some great and some not so much; but the garlic butter is still the best. You also get amazing fries + a whole wedge of lettuce covered in blue cheese sauce and parmesan shavings. In the days when I'm really not into cow I go for the chicken with cheese and pancetta crumbs. Some orders (the steaks and the chicken, for example) will get you a slice of something called "onion loaf", basically a lump of caramelized onions fried in a bit of batter? Sounds odd, but if your choice of mains doesn't come with it then order it anyway. Trust me. After stuffing yourself with protein walk into the Epping forest surrounding the restaurant to burn some calories and breathe some fresh air... Just ignore the roundabout noise and enjoy. :)
