Ann, his secretary, is fantastic. She knows her stuff and is ultra friendly. She handled all of the insurance and billing and I had no problem with this. Dr. Kristallis's office was very clean and welcoming. I really liked the hygenist and she was quite gentle, which I appreciated. Dr. Kristallis himself is great! I find that most dentists are quite rushed, but he stopped and talked and I did not feel that he was in a rush to go see the next patient. Furthermore, I was cavity and problem free- the opposite of what I had heard from the previous dentist. I appreciated that he did not try to do non-necessary services to earn an extra buck. Dr. Kristallis & staff are just fabulous. I have recommended them to multiple friends. I have yet to leave a dentist actually smiling and happy.... But I did with Dr. Kristallis. This man has utterly butchered my mouth. He did two root canals on the same tooth, because he did…read morenot like his own work. Those two root canals were done within 5 days of each other. I told him the tooth was moving after the second root canal and he told me sometimes false sensations occurred because of the obliteration of the nerve root. Fast forward about a year and I have an infection in my jaw burn. I literally have a huge knot in my jaw and the tooth is so painful I cannot eat. My gum is receding around the tooth because of multiple traumas from multiple root canals, infection, and extraction of the same tooth. I have bone splinters sticking out of my gums that have caused a large ulceration on my tongue. It hurts me to eat, it hurts me to talk, it hurts me to swallow my food. I will have to have oral surgery to cut my gums open and grind down the bone shards that are sticking out of my gum. I will also lose the tooth beside the one he butchered, because of the gum receding has exposed the root and nerve. Dr e will commit only to paying for the oral surgery. He will not restore my mouth to the level it was when I walked in his practice. He's trying to negotiate with me, it's suggesting half measures to fix it. It is half measures that brought me to this. I am following complaints against him with United Concordia insurance, and I am filing a complaint with the Virginia department of healthcare professionals. The final tool I have to make this man pay for what he has done butchering my mouth is to mount a 4 by 8 sheet of plywood in the back of my truck. It will say, dedicated Smiles butchered my mouth. I will park it in front of his business every single day while I frequent other businesses in the shopping center and spend my money. My God this man has cost me misery. If I can close the doors to his business it would be a public service to the rest of the community. He is dangerous, and does not hold himself accountable for the damage he does. They hit my teeth with some crazy sonic water spray thing before the scraping and the scraping went oh-so-much-better! I also got good, non-pressury advice about some orthodontic treatment I'll need and friendly advice about wearing braces as an adult. (Yes, I'm getting braces...just call me Ugly Betty!) Every single person there is friendly and professional, and the appointments run on time - you aren't abandoned in the waiting room or in the chair for 20 minutes at a time. I'm so thrilled with this dentist and have been referring everyone. The only downside is that it will now probably take me two months to get an appointment!

I've never had to wait more than five minutes for my appointment. I haven't had a huge amount of interaction with Dr. Blicher himself-- since my routine checkups are usually pretty good, he will pop in to take a look at my teeth and x-rays, say good morning, and not linger. Although I understand he specializes in cosmetic dentistry, I've never gotten any hard sell or pressure about cosmetic procedures-- even though I could use some; the only time it's ever come up is when I've mentioned it. I always schedule my next visit on my way out, and the office staff calls me a few days in advance with a reminder.

The receptionist answered "Dr. Fisher's office." I could not get an immediate appointment. My wife got on the phone and managed to get squeezed on Friday, two days away. I went back with my wife and the assistant took an x-ray. After the x-ray, a strange guy comes in and tells us he is the new dentist, that Dr. Fisher has retired! (Dr. Hwang) Neither my wife nor I had received any correspondance from the office telling us this. He told my wife that she needed a crown and gum work for $3,000.00. The visit cost us $255.00 They did not plan to give us any credit if the work was done. We thought about letting him do it but we were suspicioius. We did not recognize any of the staff there and were upset by this bait and switch tactic. They never told us beforehand that Fisher had retired. The same day my wife managed to go see a prostadontist, Dr. Obeid in Chevy Chase, MD who is very skilled. He has a very modern office with state of the art equipment. He told my wife that she just needed on onlay....no gum surgery. He would charge $3000 and credit us for the visit and the x-ray. It was possible that the cavity would be more extensive and she could lose the tooth. But that is not what happened. Obeid successfully spared her tooth and did the onlay! It is far better to do an onlay as opposed to removing most of the tooth for a crown. I think this review speaks for itself. It appeared to us that all of Dr. Fisher's staff were no longer there.

I first went to Dr. Zacko after moving to the area and needing a routine clean. That appointment went well, and at check-out I scheduled another appointment to have a mouth-guard molded. It was this second appointment where I had a miserable time. The tech applying the mold turned her back while it was setting and got distracted, resulting it the mold firming up and becoming stuck in my mouth. I eventually had to pry it out myself, resulting in bleeding gums. While the Dentist may be a well-accomplished man, his hiring standards resulted in a panic-inducing day.
