He is highly knowledgeable on the structure of the body and it's abilities and capabilities. Understanding how the body and mind relate as a unit, makes him remarkable a trainer. The exercises are never boring, and are very much catered to your specific needs. He has this unique ability to see how your specific body responds and can be pushed. When I first started training with David I was almost 40 yrs old and not familiar with working out in the gym. I didn't have a lot of confidence in my physical abilities. When ever he asked me to perform a particular exercise my first response was "I cant do that." by the third time I said that he looked at me and said. "You are capable and able to do all of the exercises I'm showing. You've got to stop being so negative about what you can do." A trainer not only accesses what you can do they help you challenge your perception of your abilities and take you to the next level. David is an incredible top-notch trainer! I had never had personal training before, primarily because I was dubious of the trainers I saw at more commercial gyms who just go through general stuff with clients without listening to their specific goals. However, David was the exact opposite of this. He patiently listened to all of my fitness goals, and then took the time to craft a customized workout that would get me to exactly where I wanted to go. His workout listed exactly what I should do at the gym on my own (i.e. how much weight, how many reps), and exactly when I should do these exercises. With the plethora of exercise material out there online and on YouTube, it was great to have David cut through all of that info and tell me exactly what I needed to do to meet my goals. Furthermore, he took the time to show me how to do every exercise correctly. On top of this, we arranged it so I could meet with him once per week to ensure that I was on track, and he would show me additional exercises outside of the program just to increase my knowledge of fitness and add to my arsenal of what I could do at the gym to meet my goals, and, also, not get bored. Anybody who has ever worked out before knows how valuable that is. It's gotta stay fun! Moreover, he is not one of those guys who grinds you down, almost as punishment for showing you just how hard you need to work. The military boot camp stuff is for some people, but not me. And he also felt it was not the right approach to get me to my goals. Just a smart thing that impressed me. I would strongly and intensely recommend David either if you are an advanced fitness person or if you are just getting started. I've been training with David for three years, and he's been indispensable in getting me prepped for high altitude hikes in Peru, Morocco, Patagonia, and Yosemite as well as improving my overall health and metabolism. David is super humble, exceedingly qualified, and takes a personal interest in helping me reach my goals. Okay I was going to put 4 stars only because all of his reviews are 5 stars... and sometimes seeing a business with only 5 star reviews can make people suspicious. But I promise you the 5 stars are well deserved! David is a great trainer! He is personable and friendly, but will not let you slack no matter how funny you think you are while trying to stall between sets to trick him into giving you a longer breather. That said, he also won't push you beyond your ability or comfort. He is very mindful of your strengths and ...what you need more work on. He always takes your health and injuries into consideration. For example, I frequently have injuries because I'm an idiot who plays a lot of sports with the delusional idea that I'm a professional athlete. Every time I hurt myself, he has adjusted my workout to safely accommodate the injury and allow me to continue to train without further injury. I trust his advice, and you should trust mine (because you're reading my review at this moment): If you are looking for a reliable trainer who will get you results, David is a your guy. read more

Find your weak spots and then attack them, but all with a friendly demeanor and a generosity of spirit. You'll curse his name during the worst metabolic training but then love him when you realize what's he really's trying to do - help you achieve your vision of personal excellence. Unlike a lot of people in health and fitness, he realizes that as much as it is about hitting a certain weight on the scale or run a certain mile time, it is also about the individual you become in the process - health oriented, disciplined, committed to personal growth.
