When my dad left us earlier this month, Phillip was comforting, prepared, and so helpful. He assisted us in not only choosing a casket and making cremation arrangements, but communicated on our behalf with the church where my dad would have his services held (the Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church). His familiarity with the church's preferences on funeral arrangements meant that every step of the way, Phillip had answers to the questions we asked (I am quite confident he has similar relationships with other churches as well -- he is kind and thoughtful and a pleasure to work with). He knew the priests at the church well and was able to call them himself to confirm dates and times while we were in meetings with him. The facilities at Peevey were lovely and we felt so comfortable hosting our visitation there -- our friends and family who came to pay their respects to my dad loved that we were able to display awards and recognitions of my dad's that were meaningful to all of us, and the screens in the main chapel allowed us to show a rolling slideshow of photos that we loved. At every step of the way, Phillip looked out for our family to ensure we were able to do for my dad what he had wished to be done. He was personally present at the visitation, at the church for funeral services, and accompanied my dad and my family to the cremation center after the services were concluded. Phillip was considerate, respectful, and made the difficult process as easy as we could ever have hoped. The staff at Peevey were equally respectful and a pleasure to work with. There is no other place I could have imagined helping us through the farewell process we were able to give my dad that would have offered us more dignity and kindness. Tiffany made sure to address our mom directly with such kindness, gentleness and clarity which allowed our mom to feel appreciated and heard. I go with my mom (and previously with my dad) to all of their doctor's appointments and the doctors, nurses, etc. speak directly to me. Which is infuriating for myself and my parents. What made our experience with Malloy & Son so special and impactful was the fact that Tiffany acknowledged that our mom was the decision maker. Not me or my twin sister. Tiffany spoke with her in a way that I wish I could bottle up and sell to every medical professional that I have to deal with when it comes to my parents care. My mom felt seen and valued and appreciated that she was the one that would make the decisions when it came to the details relating to our father's death. And it wasn't only how Tiffany dealt with our mom, but how she gently guided and supported my sister and I through the set up, the service and the aftermath. They helped us get them cremated and helped us with immediate death certificates because we were taking them out of state to be buried. They did my mother's funeral in 1983 and they were awesome then too, very caring and accommodating. I am sorry if anyone has had a bad experience but ours was amazing! They also performed a funeral for a friend who was killed in 2011 and it was one of the largest funerals and visitations I have ever been to. I believe the guest book was over 900 for visitation. They did an excellent job coordinating the fireman and getting him buried in a different county.

Absolutely disgraceful. From the beginning of planning the funeral for my son to the end I have…read morenever witnessed such unprofessionalism and ineptitude. To start, I was not given a price list for caskets or burial containers as required by law. I was overcharged for death certificates and when I asked I was told that's just how they do the bookkeeping. Who knows what other excessive charges were added in. No kleenexes were supplied anywhere in the building including in the chapel. No water available either. The night of visitation, instead of coming in and saying it was time to close and end it, the lights were turned off on us. I received absolutely no help in writing the program for the service, I had no idea what should be included in it. The day of the service, the speaker system stopped playing one of the songs I chose for my son and we sat waiting until they completely restarted the music. The processional out of the chapel was chaotic and uncoordinated, my daughters were almost left out of the procession. To top it all off, we paid over $1400 for an escort to Rosewood in Humble and the escort took us through a convenience store parking lot OVER SPEED BUMPS. I plan to file a grievance with the Texas Funeral Commission. Unprofessionalism and over charging people while they are grieving is completely UNACCEPTABLE. If I hadn't had to make an agreement with my ex-husband to use this funeral home in order to bury my son's body at Rosewood where all my family is buried I would not have. Rosewood has always been my families choice going all the way back to 1938 and I have never had an issue with them. Please do your research and compare prices if you are able. Taking advantage of grieving families is the lowest of the low.
