It was worth the long trip to drive to Dr. Loiselle in Newport, Oregon. I was referred to Dr. Loiselle by my physician in Salem, Oregon but I live in Prineville, Oregon. When my Physician suggested going to Newport for treatment for teeth that may have infection in them, I was very hesitant. I went to my local dentist in Prineville who confirmed via x-ray the suspicion of infection around one of the teeth and sent me on to an endodontist in Bend. She took a 3-d image which showed the infection around one tooth (14) and a much smaller amount around another (15). The Prineville dentist and the endodontist suggested root canals for both teeth and told me it was 85% successful as second root canals. My physician told me a second root canal was only 10% effective and I was really confused. I finally figured out that they were talking about talking two different things. The Prineville dentist and the endodontist were talking about saving the tooth and my physician was talking about getting rid of the infection. Because I had already lost the hearing in my left ear and my face has been numb since the hearing loss, I wasn't sure I wanted to take a chance on keeping the infection. My Prineville dentist assured me that I should do what was right for my overall health and that I should go to the dentist with the most experience in treating infections. I chose Dr. Loiselle to do my extractions because of his practice of Natural Dentistry. Before I arrived Dr. Loiselle accepted and studied all the medical history information that I sent. He then had a phone conference with me to go over his treatment plan and answer my questions. It was clear to me that he had considered all of the information during that conference. When I arrived for my procedure the staff and Dr. Loiselle were very kind. Dr. Loiselle went over the 3-d image with my husband and I and explained what he would be doing during the procedure. As they got me ready for the procedure and throughout they were concerned about my comfort and explained things that were happening. In the evening after the procedure, Dr. Loiselle called to check how I was doing and again explained some things that I may expect. Dr. Loiselle and his staff were open to questions whenever they came up and were very helpful. I would highly recommend Dr. Loiselle and his staff. read more

Many of the reviews have presented the well-deserved accolades that Dr. Scott and his staff have earned for exceptional and nearly pain-free treatment. I won't cover that ground again except to say it is not over stated. They are an amazing team of practitioners. What impressed me the most was watching Amber deal with a thoroughly "unlovely" patient who was critical, rude, and generally not nice. I think I would have told the patient to do Dr. Scott a favor and find another dentist. But that is now how he was treated. With respect and empathy his concerns were listened to very patiently. The response was reassuring and kind. It diffused what could have been an unpleasant situation for everyone, including those of us in the waiting room. When the man left, (OK, I'm not proud of this part) I made a comment about "some people!" For someone just "doing the customer service thing" it would have been a perfect opportunity to go off on what a jerk the guy had been. Amber just said that the dentist really stressed a lot of people out, and it was hard to be at our best under a lot of stress. Even when the man was gone her gracious attitude toward him did not change! We drive from Salem to see Dr. Scott, and it is well worth the trip. Dr. Loiselle saved my life. He understood the connection between other illnesses and tooth concerns. I had a root canal that had become the gateway for a major bacterial infection. My regular doctor could not locate the source but he knew my body had a major infection. Along with this infection, there was a lump in my neck, my bones were thinning, and I had been diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism, my voice was changing, and I had issues swallowing. However. I had a root canal right over the lump in my neck. OHSU diagnosed the lump as a spongy nodule and they were monitoring it. My chiropractic physician, Dr. Ewanyk did find the infection - IN MY ROOT CANAL!! However. NO DENTIST would pull it because they could not "see" it in any exray. Because Dr. Loiselle understood the connection to my health and teeth, and he worked closely with my chiropractic physician, he pulled the tooth. I am crying while I write this. Four months after the tooth was pulled, OHSU has declared I no longer have hyperparathyroidism, my bones are increasing, the lump is nearly gone, and I feel amazing. I went to Dr. Loiselle today with a broken tooth. As someone who is deathly afraid of dentists and have avoided seeing one for over five years I expected the worst. Instead I discovered kind caring people who were intent on easing my fears and helping me get over past dental traumas. Everyone went out of their way to be helpful. Dr. Loiselle and his staff took their time explaining options so that I had a clear understanding of what choices I had regarding fixing the broken tooth. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. I am very appreciative of their working me in on a busy day. The office itself was very clean and neat. I would strongly recommend this dental clinic to anyone, particularly anyone who is scared of dentists. You will come out feeling much better. read more

Dr. Scott Loiselle (and dental assistant Lilly) did a fine job as usual in replacing/creating a new crown for me. I always feel so relaxed and comfortable in the chair during the procedures that I almost feel like I could fall asleep. One of the coolest things about this office is that they can make your crown on the spot by 3D printing, so it's all done in one appointment!! I really enjoy chatting with Dr. Loiselle as we share interests, animals for one, and he was entertained in hearing about my new Maine Coon cat (and maybe a little jealous!)...and I got to hear about his future plans for his farm. I always look forward to seeing dental hygienist Chantel every six months as well, she is also very friendly and we seem to have lots to talk about! read more

I needed an extraction on very short notice. I was in great pain on a Friday afternoon. The office got me in by Monday. I know that they worked through lunch to squeeze me in, and I was very grateful. The extraction itself was extremely fast and pain free. Dr. Loiselle took the time to explain my options and let me make the decision. He even made a follow up call after closing to make sure I was doing OK. I was. I have been coming to his office now for a couple of years and have always received outstanding treatment from Dr. Loiselle, the hygienists, assistants, and all of the staff. While I was on a trip south along the Oregon coast in October, I lost what I thought was a filling. This was on a Friday night so I waited until Monday morning to find a local dentist. I called Dr Loiselle's office and was given a 3pm appt to take a look. I was informed that the tooth came apart at the filling and needed a crown. The staff went above and beyond to get me in the next morning at 8:30am. I had a new crown completed and was ready to continue my journey by 11am the same day! Best Dentist Ever! I drive over to visit Dr. Loiselle from Salem. He is definitely worth the trip! I highly recommend him. He has completed amalgam removal, fillings and crown work for me. Dr. Loiselle is our "hero"! My neighbor had an emergency (she broke a tooth), and my husband is a cardiac patient who had a sudden "tooth problem," and Dr. Loiselle was able to deal with our emergencies. He and his staff are very professional and caring. After showing up a day early (my fault) I spent 4 hours while my 2 teeth where milled to accept crowns, the crowns where grown that day, and with glue popped in place. The time was needed, and eliminated possible poor fitting temps (had that before at a different office...major real pain)then a return visit. During that time Scott and his staff and I enjoyed some down to earth "getting to know each other" visiting. Had a dental emergency over the weekend. Having moved here late last year I had not yet visited a dentist. After doing a quick internet search I called Scott Loiselle's office and got in on Wednesday, after which he solved my problem, a loosened implant. The hygienist is excellent! She is efficient, fast, and knowledgeable. She is very concerned with patient comfort and providing information to help maintain oral health.
