The one who I read had openings was not my first choice, so I was led to believe that another doctor, whose online bio appealed to me, would be shown the form I filled out and I'd get a response. So, I never got a response. I called in June to remind her and was told "the doctor was on vacation" blah blah blah. She promised she would show the doctor my inquiry and I'd hear back either way. This didn't happen. That conversation was on June 5th and it is now over a month later. I give up on this practice. How can you be offering "concierge" medicine which is supposed to devote extra time to patients and completely ignore a potential new patient who is willing to jump in and pay the practice MONTHLY whether being seen or not? Ugh.

There is only one area where I could see that someone might consider an opportunity for improvement and that's scheduling. With that being said, I feel like I should be a good little yelper and spread the word, because finding new doctor is probably one of the hardest tasks in the world, especially if you are like me and find yourself googling every disorder and disease, almost certain I have each and every one. But that's not for here... ;-D Dr. Upshaw is fantastic. I have been seeing him as my PCP for nearly 10 years. He is a D.O., and has a holistic approach about him that I really like. He is thorough, but quick. Empathetic, yet realistic. He takes charge and really knows his stuff, but also lets me have a say in my health care, which I greatly appreciate. I can usually get in for an appointment the same day as I call, or the next day at the latest. The office is clean and the atmosphere is very comfortable. The front desk staff are friendly, but very busy. Sometimes they do not answer their phone, and you have to leave a message or call back later. This isn't usually an issue, but something to mention. So, there you go. Want a great Doctor, who cares about your well-being and is knowledgeable, understanding, quick and efficient? Go see Dr. Upshaw, he will become your new primary care physician, I can assure you!

But now to make matters worse, Providence has removed all incoming call reception from the clinics and routed all calls to a call center somewhere. There has not been a single time since they made this change that I or anyone else in my family has been able to make it through the call queue in under 20 minutes. It's usually closer to 30. This is not an exaggeration. We went from being able to actually call our doctor's team and talking to someone in one or two minutes at the most, to now having to listen to the entire hold music menu twice over every time we call, and keep in mind that we're calling our doctor about our health, so sometimes timeliness matters. This is an unmitigated disaster and whoever made this decision should not only be fired, but should be permanently blacklisted from ever working anywhere ever again, because it shows either extreme incompetence or extreme hostility toward patients, or perhaps both. And if you thought mychart was a good alternative, think again. They also offsited message screening to some centralized location so not only does it take forever to hear back, but you're usually not even talking to your own clinic. The whole system is broken and it would be better to just let Providence go under than to let it languish in eternal decline, dragging their patients down with them.

She felt it and told me I am fine. I had blood work done for the same reason and when I saw her again to discuss the results she said everything was fine. I ask for a physical copy. When I got home and read them, 8 results were flagged and way out of the normal range. My husband went in to get refills for his Celexa. She never called it in so he went up to get a physical copy and was handed a prescription in his name for 150 vicodin. They are horrible about calling in prescriptions. Last week he called to ask why they didn't call one in as they said they would and he was put on hold. Finally he drove 15 minutes to the office while still on hold and the receptionist was sitting there with the phone flashing doing nothing other than watching Judge Judy. That was just one of many problems with prescriptions.
