I have been calling this office for months, it has been more than a year since my study was conducted. 1 year and 7 months to be exact. I needed these results to clear me for a surgical procedure that I need and it took them 1 year and 7 months to give me the results!?!!?? How is that possible!?!? This is beyond unprofessional. Everytime I called the Sutter Health number and got in touch with someone, they told me that they didn't see my test result information on their system. This was beyond frustrating as I needed this test for a procedure that I have to do. So because of this, the date of my procedure was put off.... 1 year and 7 months later!!!!! This morning I called (ONCE AGAIN!!!) and spoke to a lady who told me that she would search for my name. About 10-15 minutes later she calls me back and said that she found me in the system and that she would be in touch with my surgeons office to fax over the results. She also emailed the results to me. This all happened in a span of 30 minutes or less. I believe the lady's name is Luyen. So thank you Luyen, for doing something in 30 minutes that the rest of your colleagues could not do in the last 1 year and 7 months. Which was sending my results to my surgeons office for clearance. Seeing that it took her just under 30 minutes to figure this out and I had been calling for SOOO SOOO LONG, I just HAD to leave this result. On another note: it is almost impossible to get an appointment in a specific timeframe. His office is busy and overbooked (as you can see from some of the other reviews.) My insurance was such that I could get excellent specialists without needing referrals, but my new GP sent me to Dr. John Linfoot, due to his decades of endocrine, and with Addison's Disease in particular, experience. And he did indeed diagnose me with it with a specific physical test. Now three years later, I say this doctor rocks. He's a cheerful and wise gnome, with the most wonderful mustache, and a very great bedside manner. He's also a superb endocrinologist and worth the drive, when he relocated from Oakland to Lafayette, there was no chance I wouldn't follow him. Basically, I recommend him.

The problem is that my medicine has almost run out and I need to keep taking it to avoid serious side effects. With that understanding, the appointment was made. Yalamanchi had her mind made up without looking at any lab work or anything from the doctor I had most recently seen. (He was covered under my prior insurance, not my current plan.) Yalamanchi proceeded to do several diagnostics unrelated to her predisposed position. She seemed more interested in being free of me then she was in seeing my health improve on the path that it has been while since starting treatment. What happens if I stop taking the medication? What sorts of side effects might I incur? Yalamanchi doesn't even register such questions because to her, they don't matter. Her goal is to not treat me. It lacks conscientiousness. If I stop taking what I'm taking, I'll have some serious consequences to that, leaving me in a worse state than I was prior to starting my current course of treatment. My prescription was almost out, so I needed to address that issue right away. But with medication depleted, and an obstinate doctor, I was stuck with having wasted a lot of time, and nothing to show for it, so I need to again get another urgent referral to see yet another specialist elsewhere, urgently, and hope that that specialist doesn't behave like Yalamanchi. This was a massive waste of my time. It was a waste of my time to make the appointment in the first place, to get the referral, travel there, see her, do her irrelevant diagnostic tests, and travel home. Hours and hours of my time. When she came in the room, I had a sense that she did not want to treat me. None for diagnostic tests had anything to do with the bullshit reason that she provided for not treating me. That reason? I saw him periodically and had samples taken, and no cancer. After a while the growth was getting larger and I asked if it could be removed and he said it wasn't necessary. Maybe not, but it was definitely very noticeable so I decided to see another Endocrinologist as I was told by my PCP that Rosen was getting older and close to retiring. I did see another Endocrinologist who told me not only was the growth growing larger but there was a second growth on the other side of the thyroid (which Rosen had never noticed) and the new Endocrinologist referred me to a surgeon. I made a final appointment with Rosen to tell him I'd got a second opinion, and how come he'd never seen the second growth. He became very angry saying if I wanted to take things further then to go ahead, and he then proceeded to tell me his daughter was a lawyer! I couldn't believe his attitude. My surgery went well although after both growths (plus the thyroid) were removed I had a lot of loose neck skin, so I probably could have sued Rosen but by then I never wanted to see him again. I was very surprised to hear that Rosen is still practicing as I thought he would have retired many years ago. I was placed on hold 4 times, in addition, I was asked to repeat statements multiple times and to spell out terms. I was asked why I was referred to the office; I told the female personnel that was on the phone that I had Hashimoto's thyroiditis. I had to spell out Hashimoto 3 times. I understand that the front staff does not have medical degrees, however, they should be familiar with basic medical terminology and disease states. She also asked for the spelling of all of my medications. If you work in an endocrinology specialty office, you should know the names of common thyroid medications, such as Levoxyl. I had to spell out Levoxyl twice. Also, your office should easily have access to Uptodate or Lexicomp to verify the spelling of medication names and disease states. I know I am being more critical since I am a pharmacist, but most patients do not have medical backgrounds and cannot give the proper spelling and explanation of the medications they are on. It is the medical office staff's job to know these things to better help the patient. I have been on hold for almost 20 minutes and have decided to hang up and call another office. I am in the John Muir network and my records could have easily been accessed through Epic. I wad able to contact another provider and make an appointment within 6 minutes. I did not have to provide insurance, personal, contact info or current medications because this office actually took the time to look it up in Epic.
