I was extremely apprehensive about changing doctors; my last GP saw me through 10 years of very challenging medical difficulties that I am still doing my best to manage effectively. However, I have moved and was forced to make that change. I was very thorough in my research before choosing Dr. Schultz' office. I reviewed licenses with the State Medical Board, I called and talked to specialists in the area to see who they recommended, I spoke with friends and neighbors, and I called and talked to the office staff in the practices I was considering. I am so happy with my choice. I have dealt with more than my share of medical offices and this one is great. The staff has been kind and patient, and they have taken care of all my referrals, billing, and prescriptions with great care. I also have been very impressed with the sweet way they care for the older patients I see in the office. Dr. Schultz spent more time with me than I expected. He is thorough and easy to talk to. I also appreciate that I felt more like he was a partner in my health instead of a preachy or didactic taskmaster, like many doctors can seem. If there are any difficulties in this office they are doing a great job of keeping them from the patients. Hurray for them. read more

Dr. Schultz listens well and is practical in analysis and recommendations. He took the time to check out my medical and family history on his laptop and answered all of my questions. He came up with a good plan for me to get checked out thoroughly since I had not seen a doctor for like 15 years!! I found this office from reviews I read on Yelp. I made an appointment for a routine physical. I did not know that I had to pay $155 for an initial office visit to meet the doctor and provide him with my medical history, and then schedule a separate visit for the actual reason why I am coming to see the doctor, and then also pay for that visit. For the physical I was seen by the doctor's assistant which was a female doctor, (can't remember her name) she was rude at first. She didn't knock on the door when she came in to see me. When she introduced herself to me she did not shake my hand. She then sat down, and within seconds she realized that I had not filled in a portion of the information on the medical questionnaire, she then asked "why not!". I told her that I had missed that part, she said "well finish it up and I will be back" and walked away with an irritated look on her face. I must have waited for at least 25 minuets for her, from the time I was placed in the exam room to the time she came back after I had completed the questionnaire. I had to hold on to something because I felt that I was going to cuss out everyone in that office. I also made an appointment for my husband who has diabetes. He of course needs more attention than myself. The doctor requested that we schedule a nutritionist appointment. I later realized that I was billed for his nutritionist appointment because they scheduled two appointments for us. The entire session which lasted 1 hour, not 2 hours, was about my husband. When I called in to question the $150 charge for that visit for myself I was told that in "their notes" they discussed weight loss with me (which was NOT true) so they billed me for it. I also did not like the staff, they are very rude on the phone. I should have known better because when I made that first phone call to the doctors office I was placed on hold several times, and I felt like I was talking to an inexperienced person on the phone. At another date I called to cancel an appointment that was made for my husband. When the receptionist Nicole asked me for the reason I told her just to cancel it. She said "so what, you're not going to be a patient here anymore?" with an attitude. (What do you think?) Later I called the office and spoke with Patty in the billing department because I had questions regarding the bills I received. I explained to her that my medical provider stated that one of the appointments I was being billed for was due to an appointment that I had for a urinary tract infection, which was NOT true. I made an appointment for a regular routine physical. Patty stated "sometimes we have to provide a reason for a visit to ensure that your insurance properly pays for the visit".. WHAT THE HELL???? As you can see, I will not go back to this office. It's sad because I did think that Dr. Schultz was a nice doctor. Had I received excellent service from the time I walked in, to the time I left I would have no problem paying for services and going back to see this doctor. read more

Dr. Schultz saved my life. Seriously. My family doctor diagnosed me as "Too old for Type I diabetes and too thin for Type 2," put me on a medication "that will help both," and sent me home. I lost twenty pounds trying to control my Type I diabetes with diet and exercise. I found Dr Schultz on the ADA website and made an appt as soon as I could get in with Wisal Fair, his PA. When Dr. Schultz saw me sitting in the lobby, he made time for me and saw me himself. Then after hearing my story he suggested two blood tests and in a weeks time determined that I was in fact Type I. Since that first meeting 18 years ago, Dr Shultz has respectfully helped me take care of myself on my journey through life. He and his team educated me on insulin, then insulin pumps, then continuous glucose monitors. They taught me about diet, exercise and how to care for myself. They helped me during the good and the bad times. The most important thing, in my opinion, is the relationships we form in life. I don't write reviews unless I am really moved to write them, and I believe I give forthright, honest and accurate comments which are commensurate with the services I have received. That being said, here's why I rate Dr. Schultz and Dr. Titov's office an A+++++. I have seen both of these physicians. Both doctors are excellent clinicians and both have discerned health issues based on laboratory results which have alerted both my husband and I to health issues which have been diagnosed early and for which we've been able to get a jump. Both Dr. Schultz and Dr. Titov have referred us to specialists when our health warranted such referrals. Dr. Vladimir Titov, who I truly consider to be my health coach, is aware of my family history, and is tracking that family history alongside my lab work and regular physical examinations. In other words, Dr. Titov's watchful eye is on the lookout for potential familial health issues that may surface in my blood work in future. He has also been my first line of defense against the medical challenges that I currently face as a person with a chronic illness. To have primary care physicians who thoroughly track their patients and catch problems that the patients themselves may be completely unaware of, just because they are looking carefully and paying attention, is not what I have experienced with other primary care physicians I have seen. For this reason I would not hesitate to recommend either Dr. Schultz or Dr. Titov to family and friends. The real plus of Dr. Schultz and Dr. Titov's practice is their office staff, whose level of professionalism is unmatched in any medical practice of which I have been a patient. The staff is courteous and competent and has helped me wade through the complexities of the HMO health insurance maze, which can be, and is, a confusing and complicated mess for patients. Most patients realize that, in addition to top quality physicians, the key to a well-run medical practice is an office staff which is on-the-job, has excellent follow-through with insurers (and patients) to make certain that patients obtain necessary referrals to specialists, a staff which submits timely requests for authorizations to their patients' health insurance companies, as well as handling any and all other "paperwork" issues necessary to ensure top quality care for patients. Dr. Schultz and Titov have an indispensable office staff which has helped me wade through the bureaucracy of today's health insurance mess. This office always makes me wait 30 minutes or more. I had to remind them I was there this last visit. I never see the Ph.D's. I only see the PA-C. They don't listen to me and they only prescribe allergy medicine. I wanted this office to be my primary care because of their experience with diabetes. My family has a history of diabetes. I feel I get no attention because I'm not a senior citizen. I really need to change my primary care providers. read more

My father visited this doctor for hiccups, and Dr. Schultz prescribed him Baclofen. My mother gave him three pills within a 24 hour period (3 per day), but not long after my father took the 2nd pill, he started experiencing hallucinations, seeing ants and animals and strange people in the house. After the third pill, my mother spoke to my brother-in-law, who happens to be a doctor of internal medicine at Scripps La Jolla, and he told her to immediately stop giving him the Baclofen, as he said the doctor should never have prescribed it for someone as old as my father, who is 92, because it is very potent and can cause hallucinations. Conveniently for Dr. Schultz, he makes sure not to worry about his patients, working only Mondays and Tuesdays every week, as we were unable to reach him. I was referred to Dr. Schultz because he is an expert in the treatment of Diabetes. He got me in immediately and put me on medications to treat my Diabetes and High Blood Pressure.
