Scott delivered on exactly what we wanted for our wedding day- we wanted a DJ that wasn't over the top schtikcy and we wanted to dance to our favorite music. We first hired Scott pre pandemic for our May 2nd 2020 wedding, it was canceled and Scott was more then accommodating in letting us change our date to about 500 days later for August of 2021. Scott is incredibely kind, organized and an awesome DJ + MC. Scott provided us with direction for picking songs with suggestions for key songs ie walking down the aisle/ first dance. He is also very helpful in picking dancing songs as well. Scott was a professional MC and worked closely with our coordinator to make our special day come to life. Scott was a perfect match for our wedding! We invited mostly family and close friends (+100 total) and wanted a fun, laid-back party. Our ceremony was pretty quick and simple and we just wanted some instrumental pieces played for the procession and recession plus a few mics. For cocktails and dinner we wanted more loungey, jazz, old-timey music. For our first dance, we had several choreographed dances to specific songs, then for the rest of the reception we wanted lots of popular songs people knew to dance to. He totally delivered in every way. With just a few song suggestions for each part of the day he was able to get the vibe we wanted and select other songs that fit perfectly. His song list was huge. For the few songs we wanted that he didn't have, he offered to purchase them for us. His wedding packet is thorough and we met with him about a month or so in advance to fill it out in person so he could get a good sense of what we were looking for and make sure he had all the details he needed. Anything we couldn't decide on yet or didn't know he worked with us over the next few weeks to finalize as it was convenient for us. There was even one final piece of info he asked for that I forgot to give him an answer on and he just went with it the day of and it totally worked out. He is very laid back, easy to work with, and very responsive. Exactly what we were looking for! He doesn't interject much and try to run the show. He does the right amount of MCing and a few funny bits of commentary but mostly just makes sure people keep dancing. He was a big hit! Our guests had so much fun dancing the night away. Scott Trugman came highly recommended as an excellent and budget friendly DJ from an event coordinator at our venue at Pajaro Dunes Resort in Santa Cruz County. We had Scott as our DJ for our 100 person wedding in September 2018 and we couldn't have been happier with our decision! From the very first communications Scott was personable, quick to respond, and very organized. His many positive reviews helped with our decision as well. Scott's DJ services were exactly what we needed as his price included portable microphone and speaker system for our beach ceremony. Scott was familiar with our unique venue as I was worried about flow issues and moving guests from two rooms and a deck area for the reception. His prior experience with this venue and confidence with dealing with our flow concerns put us at ease. Scott also has a wonderful event packet that walks you through your wedding and helps to guide what songs you want to use during the ceremony, first dance, parent dances, specialty dances, and even music during the cutting of the cake which I had never considered. He also has a master playlist that we used to rate songs so that he knew our music taste and preferences. Since we live out of state, most of our communications were over email and a few months before the wedding, Scott set up a phone interview to confirm all the details of the wedding and to get to know us better. PERFECT Wedding DJ. We hired Scott to meet two objectives 1) We wanted to be 100% sure everyone had a good time (my definition: happy and dancing), and 2) We didn't want to worry about the first objective. We initially intended to just use our playlists, but finally decided it would be easier for a professional to make sure the mood was perfect the whole time. We didn't want to be worrying about it.
