Fast casual spot family owned joint for some great carribean food. We had the following: Okra stew - 8/10 hearty, thick, perfect for a cold winter day Jerk chicken - 10/10 fresh off the grill. That makes all the difference Oxtail - 8/10 a sweeter style of oxtail then I've had at other places. Great flavour Curry goat - 9/10 all the dishes we had were great but this stole the show Service was fantastic and the fact that they cook it fresh vs scoop it out of a heating tray is huge

Sweet BBQ Jerk chicken, rice and peas, fried plantain slice and vinaigrette cole slaw.

While the food is worth waiting for, the online/POS isn't. If you are ordering at the present time, call them directly and avoid the online option. They're having issues receiving the orders. Hopefully, they will fix it sooner than later

Hands down the best Jamaican food I've eaten. Granted I've only had the jerk chicken; that said, the care and love in this food is remarkable and unmistakable. Perfectly seasoned and done with care. I could drink the gravy in a mug. Hot sauce is homemade and adds to the food.

My girlfriend and I went here for dinner. The owner of the restaurant was very friendly and pleasant with the service! The restaurant offers the common jamaican platters in reasonable prices. The restaurant was clean and visually appealing. My friend had oxtail and it tasted very good! I had the jerk chicken platter and I loved everything on it! Would recommend this to anyone;)

My friend took me here for my birthday. She's Jamaican and we are always looking for a good Jamaican place that will live up to her standards. She had already tried some food from here and knew it was authentic. We ordered beef patties and Jerk Chicken, which was great. The service was good. I made the mistake of ordering a mango drink that turned out to be a bottled drink, from a brand I assume is popular in Jamaica. Make sure to ask first if you want a fresh squeezed drink. The restaurant is on Avenue road and and there's one bus that services the area. Also keep in mind that the bathroom and entrance are not accessible. There's at least one step to get to the entrance and the bathroom is in the basement.

Had dinner with 3 of my friends here after I saw great reviews on yelp. The food did not disappoint I had the stew jerk chicken which came with rice and peas, cabbage and plaintains. They also provide a tasty soup to start. Flavorful food, great service and beautiful ambiance. There was also a dj playing some tunes as well. Phenomenal experience I will be back when I'm in town visiting again.

I'm sorry but I can only give 2 stars because we have been waiting FOREVER for our food. Even though I know that the food is good.

Greetings!! Went here today and we had the oxtails and jerk chicken which both were delish. Also the soup was outstanding!! We also ordered a Scotthill and two beef patties which the lady forgot to bring out to the table. However, the atmosphere and food made up for the little mishap!! Definitely would recommend and return!!

If I didn't walk up Avenue, I would have never discovered this place. My friend and I were debating between sushi, pasta, oh a bistro...oh what's this...Carribean cuisine...why not? I've been wanting to try Carribean food for a while but places like Ritz and Tasty were too far and I would never have anyone to accompany me...lol. We came here on the first day of their opening and there were already many take out orders. In comparison to Yonge Street, I find this restaurant to be family-oriented and a date spot. I see it becoming a local favourite, more so due to the lack of dine-in Carribean restaurants. In terms of parking, I recommend parking in the neighbourhoods and walking over if you don't want to pay. Before this, I've been to Rhum Corner on Dundas with my Haitian friend. I've had plantains and rice and beans there and this was what I based my review off of. Since it was the first day of its opening, we were unable to order some items on the menu. We ended up having Jerk Chicken ($10) and BBQ Chicken ($10). Both came with a side of coleslaw and rice. Everything tasted fresh and service was great. We also talked briefly with who I assume was the owner - he asked about how we found the food and all. My impression was that this restaurant wanted to steer away from the "grubby," heavy meals being served in white styrofoam containers and instead, allow individuals to enjoy these meals in a different setting. At the same time, it wanted to preserve Carribean culture and foods. However, at the same time, I was expecting larger portions. A recommendation I have is for a complimentary appetizer to be served beforehand. This would also allow customers to have a better idea of the food as there are not many Carribean restaurants in the area...just a recommendation though. :) Overall, a good place for a dine-in Carribean experience.

Menu is a tad over priced, but I can't deny it tastes good. Not overly salty or oily as bar food often is, and I actually really enjoyed their pasta. It's definitely a great place to go for a bit of a splurgy night with friends where you're prepared to pay $20-40 per person. I like it for a date night to have some heavier foods that I wouldn't want to try cooking at home. The short rib pappardelle was the best. I love the flavour and it's not too crazy heavy, even though it looks really creamy. It has very beef stew type vibes. The chicken wings were well cooked and still moist. I think it was too much flavour going on though. You LOVE the first and even second wing. But by the third one, I felt like it was getting too heavy. I know though that a lot of people love that and can't get enough of it. I personally don't like too much of any one thing. The brussel sprouts I felt the same. It's really yum for the first few bites but it gets really heavy after a while. I think it's really fun to have the appetizers and share a main with someone. The foods are a bit heavier, more of a flavour bomb, but everything is executed well and the staff are really nice! We've even done take out and the portions were very much the same.

It's located in a plaza next to Rexall, anchored by a Food Basics. I headed eastbound along Steeles Avenue East, which becomes Taunton Road. I then turned right on Westney Road North, eventually making a left into this plaza. There was plenty of parking when I arrived. I backed into a spot and walked in. We reserved a couple of tables. We were ready to eat! We got there just before 4 pm. Our friendly server advised that its new pub menu was available for us to order from, as well as its main menu. It's a Caribbean restaurant that puts an island twist on many items. There are also non-Caribbean food if you're not feeling like having spiced-up items. From the pub menu, we got these items: - Loaded crunch burger - Mushroom madness burger - Greek salad - Beef nachos - Jerk chicken poutine - Jerk quesadilla We ordered these items from the main menu: - Special chicken lo mein - Spicy pepper shrimp - Honey garlic beef short ribs - Szechwan tofu with rice We started off with drinks. I ended up with a Hibiscus fruit mocktail. I couldn't tell you what was in it, but it was cold and delicious. Our table also got colourful drinks, including a mojito. We also got a pitcher of icy water. I went up to the bar to get a refill roughly halfway through our meal. The female staffer was so nice. She brought the refill to our table and even topped up our glasses. The food was excellent. I sadly couldn't fit the burgers in my system. They looked amazing. I love mushrooms, so I was especially sad that I didn't get to try the mushroom madness burger. Both burgers that we ordered came with fries. It seemed weird to order a Greek salad from a Caribbean place. Hey, we got to get some greens in. I was impressed at how much feta we got. I enjoyed this salad. The lettuce and onions were crisp. The latter didn't have that raw, burning taste to them. The dressing was delicious. The beef nachos were amazing. The beef had big, bold, beefy flavour. The melty cheese was great with the sour cream and crunchy nacho chips. I normally don't like sour cream, but this place didn't overdo it. I liked the lighter-handed approach. The jerk poutine was amazing. It had the best seasoned jerk chicken morsels with crispy fries, a decent gravy, and cheese curds. The jerk quesadilla stole my heart. The cheese pull didn't seem to want to stop. It was the same flavourful jerk chicken. It was delicious. The mains were equally as good as the pub items! The special chicken lo mein was indeed special. The lo mein was chewy and yummy. The sauce was on the saltier side, but it wasn't horrible. I liked the veggies, especially the baby corn. It had tender chicken morsels mixed in. On top of everything was even more roasted chicken. Wow! Everything was delicious, including the chicken on top. The spicy pepper shrimp were incredible. If you like spicy deliciousness, get the shrimp. They were perfectly cooked and yummy. The honey garlic beef short ribs were scrumptious. The sauce had the best mix of honey with garlic. The ribs were tender. I loved the red and green peppers. Yum! The szechuan tofu was a nice alternative to meat. The flavours were bold and perfect. I loved the cubed tofu. I actually brought this dish home with a mound of steamed rice. This eatery has a lot of seating. The bar is gorgeous. There's a huge screen for sports games there. You can also watch games anywhere in this restaurant as there are screens everywhere. If you do want a change of pace, there's a pool table near the entrance. I used the washroom before leaving and heading home. The women's was clean. This eatery has lunch and student specials. I'd like to try the former items one of these days. I had a great time with friends here over yummy drinks and food. I can't wait to return for more. (285)
