Food - we ordered a few things off the menu (Oxtail Poutine, Jerk Pork Poutine, Jerk Wings, Fried Chicken, Curry Goat, Festivals & Mac Pie) and everything was amazing and came out hot, freshly made. The poutine was flavorful and the fires were so crispy. My FAVORITE item on the menu was the festivals with the curry chicken gravy, to die for. Do not leave without trying the festivals & the fried chicken!! Service - 10/10!! Our server was so sweet and knew her stuff, she was working by herself and we did not have to wait on anything. So I would give this restaurant a 3.5/4 star review it has great potential to be a 5 star. It is still a new business I think its been open for about 2 months now. I visited on a Friday night around 7pm it was empty maybe to other sets of people but by 7:30 the seated area was 3/4 full and there was a line for take out! Atmospheres: bright and light, the music I think was a tad bit loud because people were talking louder than usual Service: my waitress was really nice and tentative but she was the only one for most of the time I was there, she was waiting tables and taking takeout orders and bringing out food later on close to 8pm there was another girl ... this caused service to be a little slower but not her fault she was great! But she did kept apologizing to tables saying thier food is coming right up, trying to soften the wait Food: Postive: my favorite was the jerk pork! The meat was tender and well seasoned. ( ithink on the menu it says soaked for 2 days) the jerk chicken was just as tasty. The soup of the day was the beef soup, please note this can be a meal on it's own. You get a generous portion with chunks of beef, dumplings, two pieces of corn, and pieces of yams/potatoes! Very delicious and tasty. Negative: The curry goat was a little on the salty side but the meat was also tender not too chewy. The oxtail poutine was my least favorite sadly because I was the most excited for it. It uses regular gravy ( I thought it would use oxtail graxy) edith chunks of oxtail on top. The fries were hot and fresh the gravy was alright nothing special, the chunks of oxtail in top were not hot (temperature wise) but tasted good would of been better if served hot! The cheese, I don't know what kind of cheese they use but it didn't not pair well at all and it did not melt not even a little bit. I scraped the cheese to the side and just ate the gravy and oxtail. TL:DR - ambiance and quality is not bad, but the portion size is too small relative for its price. Would not return again. I went at lunchtime around 1230. Restaurant ambiance is nice, but the 20 mins I was there waiting for my take out order, there was no other customers either dining in or take out. Already a big of a red flag. Anyway, I ordered 2 main entrees of jerk chicken, 1 main entree of oxtail, and a beef patty for our family of 3. For the jerk chicken entrees, I asked for the gravy to be on the side instead of on the chicken as I find some restaurant can put too much and make it too salty - I was charged additional $3. When I asked why there is up charge for the same gravy to be on the side, the server said it is because the chef puts "just a little bit on the chicken" and "you'll be glad you ordered the extra gravy" - what? well, why charge more if you know there is not enough gravy?? I'm terms of the quality, The Jamaican patty was very mediocre, can skip that. I will say that the jerk chicken and oxtail taste wise is good, spice is on point, however, the portion size for all 3 entrees are tiny for its price. We essentially paid $20 for a jerk chicken entree (including the up charge for moving gravy to the side) and there was 2 pieces of chicken... in comparison, we had the same portion at Roywoods a few days before and it was about half of that price and quality was comparable. the oxtail was $22 I think (maybe $24) and had 3-4 fairly small pieces of meat. We end up spending $70 for the 3 of us, and were still hungry after we ate, which never happens when we order jerk chicken elsewhere. I think the taste was good, but I was really not happy with the portion size and way to expensive. Would not recommend. read more

I've been to my fair share of Caribbean takeout joints but for whatever reason I haven't been to a sit in place before. Ironically due to the current situation, my experience at Creole Jamaican Kitchen + Bar remained takeout in nature. So just like any dine in restaurant, expect to pay a bit of a premium . The question is, "is it worth it?" Well let's see. While I waited for my takeout I enjoyed the tropical bar ambiance. You can clearly see the hand painted palm tree murals. However, I also noticed a lot of rice sitting on the floor. My best guess was the owners' kid ate there and made a mess and they never got around to clean it up. Given the current climate, the lady was a one woman show taking orders and also tending to the customers in the patio, I'll give them a pass on this one. For $22 I got a combo order of jerk chicken and oxtail. The jerk chicken was well marinated and had an ever so slight kick to it. The oxtail was not quite fall off the bones but was tender and flavourful. The rice and beans had the right texture not too soft and not too hard. The sauce that they slathered on top of the food was piping hot but was a bit too sweet for my liking. It's not bad but not great. The cardinal sin however was the chicken and oxtail were not hot unless it was touching the sauce that I mentioned before. Consider the longer wait than a takeout joint (even in consideration of the fact that there were a couple of online and patio orders in front of mine), that's a big no no since I grabbed the food and ate it in the car right away. When it came to packing the food, the lady pulled down her mask and then was rubbing her nose (and believe me I do understand the annoyance of wearing a mask) with the side of her hand before my food got packed up. Especially in the current climate, this is not the type of thing to do in front of the customers. But I do have to give the lady props for telling customers who were walking in without masks to put some on. The experience is certainly a mixed bag, but considering that I'm paying premium for the food, I think I will stick to my usual takeout places. read more

I always find myself driving back to this place. First off, the jerk chicken is nicely spiced and moist. The rice and peas is always hot with a nice subtle taste of coconut milk. The thing that is highly addictive, for me at least, would be the oxtail gravy. When it's put on the jerk chicken it's amazing. They also serve oxtail poutine, which is chunks of oxtail, oxtail gravy, cheese curds and fries. I would suggest that if you've never had oxtail poutine you should definitely check out. read more

I came here for their grand opening and the place was hopping. I'm a huge fan of Jamaican meat patties and was one of the things I missed the most when I moved out west. Now that I'm back on the east coast, meat patties are plentiful. I decided to order both the chicken patty and the beef patty. I also ordered the jerk chicken in roti. The chicken patty had a curry flavor and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I thought that the beef patty was just okay. It needed some additional seasoning. The outer shell was flaky and you can tell that it was freshly made. The jerk chicken in roti was huge. It's big enough to feed two. The chicken was excellent. Spicy, flavorful, and tender. This was an impromptu visit and I was happily surprised. I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas (as opposed to white rice). It was delicious! I was apprehensive as sometimes jerk chicken is too spicy but this chicken was perfectly spicy and the rice and peas had a delicious sweet sauce on it that really counteracted the heat! Holy crap these guys are good! My experience is all takeout/delivery and I've ordered many, many times in the last two years. Never a single disappointment and something about this one Caribbean place out of all the others in Toronto makes the word "professional" come to mind. Maybe it's the consistency. Pork sandwich-the best thing at the best price that is no longer available online. I'm sad. Jerk Pork and Rice and Beans-Fantastic pork. They leave a sliver of fat (jerk fat!) in each slice that is dripping with flavour. Pork can be very dry but this you can tear down into small chunks easily. Also an option to have plain rice. Jerk Chicken & Rice-Great too. The standard you get at Caribbean places in Toronto. Very flavourful. *Ahh this is where I get the professional thing from. You know how sometimes a chicken leg is a miss and you toss it saying, "oh I just got a bad one", no meat on it or too much fat or something. These guys always give like 5-6 pieces of good chicken. Tight dependable pieces every time. I don't know anywhere else they do chicken quality control. Mix=Jerk Pork + Chicken + Rice-These guys give the option of mixing your meat like half chicken and half pork and it's a great deal. Priced the same as the more expensive meat. *One issue I'll admit about the Pork and Chicken dinner options is the sauce you get with the rice is delicious but light (not enough of it). I tend to spend another $1.50 to get the Oxtail gravy on the side and slather the rice with it. Naturally, the Oxtail is probably pretty good too. I should try it. Curry Goat & Rice-Awesome. Obviously this one you can't mix but there's plenty of curry for the rice. Side of meat-You can get a half kilo of Jerk Pork, Chicken, etc. on the side, which is just beautiful. Same quality as the regular meal. *However, each meal is a full meal so Curry Goat with Jerk Chicken on the side is a lot of food despite what you think you can handle you fatty. One time I got Pork + Rice with a side of pork... it was too much pork. Please don't repeat my mistake even if you just read animal farm and think they deserve it. My suggestion: try different meats. Coleslaw-The worst. What is this? I always take a pinch to find it's the same lame cold stalk of I dunno as last time and throw it out. I like some nice coleslaw on the side but they don't yet know how to make it well. No matter, it's free. Patty-It's nice. Pretty standard. Festival-Sweet twisted bread. Very tasty and more filling than you'd expect. Drinks-Always ginger beer. I remember the online form having a choice of ginger beer for $2.50 and another for $5.00. Why don't you try that second one for me as I never got around to it. read more

It was my first experience here and I must say that the customer service was amazing. Didn't get the name of our server but she was very kind and took good care of us. The outdoor patio is absolutely adorable, I just wish there was a little bit of music outside to set the ambience. But the decor is beautiful, modern, and clean! I ordered the jerk chicken poutine and it was very filling. I just thought it was a bit too heavy on the gravy but apart from that it was flavorful. Where should I start? I walked in with a friend around dinner time, we went to the front counter to place our order, we waited several minutes for someone; we could see there were staff in the kitchen visible through the window in the kitchen door, they seemed to be busy doing something and on a couple of occasions they poked their heads out of the kitchen, but at no time did they acknowledge our presence; we waited a bit longer and finally someone came out of the kitchen and we thought we would finally be able to place our order after waiting at least 10 minutes. Well that's not what happened! The young lady behind the counter proceeded to check her phone, put on her sunglasses but at no point did she even acknowledge us! I looked at my friend in utter disbelief! We made our way to the exit door, at this point someone sitting at a table of what appeared to be staff said "Sorry about that"! WTF, you wait until we are walking out the door to acknowledge us? They could have the best food in town, but I can assure you I will never set foot in the place again! Came here on a whim for dinner and I would say that this place is good. Their menu has a great selection of food and from what I've seen they look really good. Portion sizes are very good and the food is very tasty. The only reason this place lost one star in my books is that it took a long time for our food to come out. I would say though that it was worth the wait and at least the food came out piping hot. I would definitely try some of their other dishes so we will be coming back. What a fantastic new Jamaican restaurant in Vaughan located on Weston Rd just North of Hwy 7. We went for dinner on a Friday evening during the restaurants soft opening and it was such a incredible experience. We ordered everything to share amongst a table of four as we wanted to try a few different dishes. To start things off we got Plantain Chips and a Beef Patties to nibble on to go along with a nice cold Red Stripe while figuring out what main dishes we wanted to share. Both were excellent. For the main dishes we decided to get the Jerk Chicken, Fried Chicken, Oxtail and Curry goat. All dishes were served with rice with peas and coleslaw. The Jerk sauce was great, the chicken was so tender and the Fried Chicken was nice and crisp. The Curry Goat and Oxtail meat was so tender and the sauces were outstanding. The decor was fun and the service was extremely pleasant. The staff was very welcoming and friendly and made you feel right at home. This wonderful experience was just during their soft opening but it appears they are poised for success. Definitely looking forward to my next visit. Give it a try. read more

Visited the day after their grand opening. Ambiance is very nice. Clean and not like your typical West Indian restaurants. They have inside dining as well as a patio. Great location as it's close to shopping and movie theatre. The staff was friendly and inviting. Our waitress was phenomenal and very sweet. She went above and beyond to make us happy, gave good recommendations and suggestions and checked on us to make sure we were satisfied throughout our meal. Food is very reasonably priced and portion sizes are great. I had the combo plate with ackee and saltfish and oxtail. It normally comes with rice and peas or fried dumpling and coleslaw but I asked for vegetables instead and the chef created a delicious salad for me. The dressing was out of this world! I also had the drink of the day which was a Jamaican rum punch and trust me, the rum DID punch! Definitely did not skimp on the alcohol! Overall, I will definitely be going back.
