Curry goat and jerk chicken combo
    Nadia A.

So I would give this restaurant a 3.5/4 star review it has great potential to be a 5 star. It is still a new business I think its been open for about 2 months now. I visited on a Friday night around 7pm it was empty maybe to other sets of people but by 7:30 the seated area was 3/4 full and there was a line for take out! Atmospheres: bright and light, the music I think was a tad bit loud because people were talking louder than usual Service: my waitress was really nice and tentative but she was the only one for most of the time I was there, she was waiting tables and taking takeout orders and bringing out food later on close to 8pm there was another girl ... this caused service to be a little slower but not her fault she was great! But she did kept apologizing to tables saying thier food is coming right up, trying to soften the wait Food: Postive: my favorite was the jerk pork! The meat was tender and well seasoned. ( ithink on the menu it says soaked for 2 days) the jerk chicken was just as tasty. The soup of the day was the beef soup, please note this can be a meal on it's own. You get a generous portion with chunks of beef, dumplings, two pieces of corn, and pieces of yams/potatoes! Very delicious and tasty. Negative: The curry goat was a little on the salty side but the meat was also tender not too chewy. The oxtail poutine was my least favorite sadly because I was the most excited for it. It uses regular gravy ( I thought it would use oxtail graxy) edith chunks of oxtail on top. The fries were hot and fresh the gravy was alright nothing special, the chunks of oxtail in top were not hot (temperature wise) but tasted good would of been better if served hot! The cheese, I don't know what kind of cheese they use but it didn't not pair well at all and it did not melt not even a little bit. I scraped the cheese to the side and just ate the gravy and oxtail. Because the waitress was dealing with so much I didn't want to hassle her to take it back plus I didn't want to wait for another one to come out.

"I WAS THE FIRST OFFICIAL CUSTOMER :)! 3.9/5 for me!" What time we arrived/Wait time? Arrived on a saturday afternoon! We went right as they opened for the first time and we were surprised! Atmosphere? It is beautiful! The wall paper and vibe and music all make you feel like you're in Jamaica! Service/Staff? Service is good! It was the first day so it was a little slow and the servers kept apologizing but we understood. They gave us a free patty for waiting and we appreciated that! Food/Menu/Pricing? The food was pretty good! I'm not the biggest fan in the world of jamaican food but I love patties!! The rasta pasta could've been more flavourful? It was alittle bland. The jerk chicken was great and juicy! Loved the sauce and the plantain chips were good too.

    Jerk chicken in roti

I came here for their grand opening and the place was hopping. I'm a huge fan of Jamaican meat patties and was one of the things I missed the most when I moved out west. Now that I'm back on the east coast, meat patties are plentiful. I decided to order both the chicken patty and the beef patty. I also ordered the jerk chicken in roti. The chicken patty had a curry flavor and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I thought that the beef patty was just okay. It needed some additional seasoning. The outer shell was flaky and you can tell that it was freshly made. The jerk chicken in roti was huge. It's big enough to feed two. The chicken was excellent. Spicy, flavorful, and tender. The potatoes were similarly flavorful and tender. The roti was soft. Overall, the food was excellent and I wouldn't mind coming back again.

First time trying... loved it! I took it at home and ate after 30-40 minutes. It was still warm and really fresh. I will try their jerk chicken with rice and beans. It's a huge portion. Probably good for 2-3 people with an average size meal.

This was an impromptu visit and I was happily surprised. I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas (as opposed to white rice). It was delicious! I was apprehensive as sometimes jerk chicken is too spicy but this chicken was perfectly spicy and the rice and peas had a delicious sweet sauce on it that really counteracted the heat! This plate was delectable! I thought I would also try the red velvet cake with cheese cream frosting and it was perfect! The piece was huge, moist and not too sweet. It definitely hit the spot! I will definitely be coming back!

Highly recommended Jamaican cuisine. Excellent service; our waitress was very polite and a pleasure to speak to. The appetizers were the patties; amazing. We ordered curry goat, stewed oxtail, jerk chicken and fried chicken. Delicious and savory; generous portions. The restaurant is new, very clean and the decor is refreshing. I look forward to our next visit.

It was my first experience here and I must say that the customer service was amazing. Didn't get the name of our server but she was very kind and took good care of us. The outdoor patio is absolutely adorable, I just wish there was a little bit of music outside to set the ambience. But the decor is beautiful, modern, and clean! I ordered the jerk chicken poutine and it was very filling. I just thought it was a bit too heavy on the gravy but apart from that it was flavorful. My friends got the jerk chicken sandwich and the bread was a little bit stale. But apart from that it was good. Overall though, I did enjoy my meal here! 3.5/5 !

i cut my beef patty in half lol

Stewed oxtail, rice and peas? Done and done. I'm not a "pick-it-off-the-bone" kinda guy, but I'm sure if you gave the container a good shake, deliciousness and bone would part ways. (Kidding, don't really do this). Its fork tender and delicious in ways you wouldn't think possible. Go. Do it, pick around the bones, a flavour-bomb is your reward. Jerk BBQ chicken is jerk chicken's milder sibling, cooked right and spiced for a more delicate eater. First bite, really good BBQ flavour, then the heat shows up, fashionably late and knowing it's place as a back-up singer. Don't be afraid, it's what I refer to as "White Boy Spicy", just enough to get your attention, but not over the top. Fried plantains are a must-have side, and to seal the deal, grab two Tings from the fridge, after you sanitize your hands, please and thank you. Angie's is operating as takeaway only, and only a few days a week. Call ahead to shorten your wait, I arrived Friday evening and there were 5 cars waiting for their orders, all were served in minutes. These ladies deliver the real thing, show them some love, leave a nice tip, and tell your friends you were in Jamaica for dinner.

Fighting through the crowd of people, I was finally able to place an order. A bit short staffed, so the wait for my food took a bit longer than expected, but nothing too crazy. Upon first look, I was ready to be met with a resounding taste of "meh" given the location of this restaurant (university campus) and the look of the food. But after the first bite, I was hooked and found myself going mm mm 'm. The rice was good, with beans mixed in, topped with some chicken gravy sauce. There was 4 pieces of chicken, and a scoop of cole slaw on the side. The cole slaw was crispy and fresh, not soggy, but didn't seem very flavorful, quite possibly overpowered by the other flavors in the dish. The chicken was quite tasty, moist, fall off the bone and had a very nice spicy kick which I wasn't expecting. The faster you eat, the spicier it gets, but if you pace yourself the spiciness level is tolerable. Overall, for university campus food I was quite pleasantly surprised at how tasty the jerk chicken was. Would definitely stop in again to try other dishes when in the area.

I decided to look at the menu, saw the lobster roll, and knew that I needed to order it. I love lobster rolls. I see it on a menu and I must order it. No thought required. Done! There are three COAST locations, all ghost kitchens, in the GTA. One is in downtown Toronto. Another is at the Firkin that I used to frequent at Yonge and Eglinton. The one is Vaughan is the latest addition, which is where I went last night. I placed my order through Uber Eats for pickup: - PEI lobster roll with COAST salad - Crispy COAST shrimp - Crème brûlée cheesecake - Superbowl Sunday special (free COAST fries when your order is $40 or more) The downside is that I got a general location as to where to go to pick up my food. I got to the plaza with Nations grocery store anchoring it. Where do I go next? Well, my prayers were answered when a nice person from COAST called me and said that my order was ready. He let me know that COAST is in The Moose, which is a Firkin pub. Yes, direction! I thanked him and parked closer to the pub. The Moose looks new and modern. It has patio heaters and is open for dining in, as is many eateries in York region now. I was greeted by a nice man. He asked for my order number. I showed it on my phone and he went to fetch my order. I saw this white paper bag with handles on the bar counter. He thanked me and handed it to me. I reciprocated. I could smell the fries through my mask. I was so excited and I headed over to my car. I got home and had dinner. I bought more than I could down, so I have leftovers today that I look forward to having I had a container full of salad. The PEI lobster roll was camouflaged by it. You can choose fries or salad as your side. Considering that I was going for free COAST fries, I settled for salad. I loved how much salad I got. The veggies were crisp and fresh. All I heard was my crunching on them. The salad dressing had balsamic vinegar, but it was subtle and didn't have a ton of sugar. I liked it a lot. My lobster roll was good. The lobster had generous chunks of real lobster in aioli, with chives and seasoning. Yum! The downside was the bun. The brioche bun needed to be softer and perhaps grilled more with butter. It would have made the experience nicer. It was a smaller roll than I had hoped for $20, but I had so much food that it was minor. What surprised me the most were the crispy COAST shrimp. They were super crispy. They had a bit of spice. The baby arugula balanced out the spiciness. I thoroughly enjoyed how crispy the whisper-thin batter coating each shrimp was. Perfection! I got the COAST fries on the house. The fries tasted so homemade, as if I had cut the fries myself, and someone did a better job at deep-frying them. It had Grana Padano cheese that I had never had. It tasted like parmesan, but milder. I loved it with the spicy aioli and chives. I love chives so much. I normally don't enjoy eating fries as a side, but I could do these any day. I have been good lately by not going overboard with desserts. However, I couldn't resist getting the crème brûlée cheesecake. Sadly, my slice got tossed around a tad in the container, so the pointy part of the slice was smashed. However, I ate it all, even with the whipped cream puddle next to it. I enjoyed this cheesecake slice a lot. It wasn't terribly sweet. The berry coulis on top provided a nice tartness and contrast. The crust was thin. The cheesecake was creamy and you could taste the beautiful crème brûlée flavour in each bite. It's a winner! I am eyeing the PEI lobster poutine, and COAST surf and turf burger next. I had a great experience. Prices do run steep, but it's worth treating yourself to fresh seafood and ingredients. (114)
