We went last week to Performance Plus for an oil change with my elderly aunt's car. This had been on her mind for months. The window sticker said she was 10 months overdue, but she drives the car very little. The car mileage isn't immediately visible on the dash - so I didn't see that. I just knew she really really wanted her oil changed. The owner and one technician were working. As the technician began the process, and was already under the vehicle, the owner had me click through options on the steering wheel to find the mileage. He told us we were not due for an oil change for 2000 miles. He called to the technician to hold off while we discussed what my aunt wanted to do. (We were the only customers at the time. It would have been very tempting for them to simply make another sale to add to the days profit.) Instead, My aunt agreed we should wait, they adjusted tire pressure, topped off the windshield wiper fluid and sent us on our way - no charge. Most shops I have been to would have said - " too late, we've already started the job" (or not commented at all) and charged us $90 bucks for a needless oil change. So this is a five star shop in my view! I remarked to the owner that I admired his integrity. He said that's the kind of shop I want to have. Kudos to Performance Plus oil change. We'll be back in 2000 miles. (And we'll send our friends your way!)
