I once respected this shop. No more. I purchased 4 tires from them. They were fine for a little while but then my sensors kept telling me my tires were low on air. I keep having to put air in the tires over and over. I then took time off of work to bring my car to River Valley Auto. They told me that it is most likely an issue with my tire sensors. I asked them to look at the tires to make sure there is not an issue with the tires. They told me that they didn't find anything. And they wanted to charge me! I normally buy my tires from Belle Tire. So I went back to them. At no charge they looked at everything and saw that the wheels had corrosion. They could have sold me 4 new tires for I was frustrated and wanted this issue to be resolved. Thankfully Belle tire was there for me. read more

I recently brought my car in for regular maintenance along with issues with my brakes. I was updated promptly by Scott informing me of what the issue was along with an extremely reasonable estimate. He was kind and knowledgeable, and explained everything to where I understood, felt comfortable, and felt no pressure. Everything was done quickly the same day. I wasn't sure if I'd make it before close, so I called to ask if I could pay over the phone and spoke to Cory who was helpful and friendly. A few days later, I received contact from Khiler following up asking how everything went. Great service from start to finish! I typically feel very out of my comfort zone with car issues and auto repair shops, but everyone was so genuine and treated me with respect that I felt confident and comfortable. Excellent! I took my bmw to Scott for an oil change and basic service. Made an appointment which they were ready for my car when I got there. Completed the service quickly, had the oil filter in stock which is rare for this car, looked at a couple of other things I asked about, recommended service for next time, didn't try to push me to buy anything else, and were significantly less than the dealer. We've been using River Valley for service on our import vehicles since 2015. They've been a great resource for our Volvo, Volkswagen, and Mercedees vehicles. What I've appreciated most about River Valley, is there impeccable and friendly customer service that's stayed consistent over the years. They've also done a great job with employee retention as we've been working with the same customer service rep and mechanic there since 2015, which has made service easier on our end. Poor customer service. They made me feel like I was a burden to them since they had "a big workload today." Didn't greet me AT ALL, I had to initiate the conversation. Ran out of oil one time when I came in for oil change appointment. On another occasion I called on a Saturday to have service done on Saturday, since they say they are open Saturday. The guy (I think his name is Casey) said he didn't have any mechanics coming in today. So...you're open for business but you can't fix any cars? read more

I have to give a star to post a review. In truth, I would give negative stars if possible. If I loathed you, I would not refer you to this place. Went in to get a battery changed and have sporadic issue with electrical (sometimes my car alarm would go off when doors locked) in my VW Passat. These folks claim to be experts with the brand and they had been recommended by a former friend, so that's why I landed there. Any way, a MONTH after leaving my car there for these reasons I finally got my car back... There was exhaust coming out by the front passenger tire, ALL of my dashboard alert lights were on and the car drove like a POS... I was ignorant enough to take it back the following Monday when they opened. I ended up having to get it taken to German Auto via flatbed to get it in drivable condition once again. I did receive courtesy cars to drive during the first go around with this place, and I find it hilarious they are now performing detailing packages on Groupon these days, as one of the cars I drove was handed over to me with vomit across the back seat. Please save yourself the heartache and misery. Do not make the mistakes I made in trusting the owner and his crew to make it right read more

Took my car in to get a quote on getting my drivers side window fixed. Left without being able to open my drivers side door from the inside. I didn't realize it until I got to work and had to crawl out the passenger side of my vehicle. Also, the lock panel was jolting out where it wasn't before and they just left a piece of my plastic door panel sitting there. While they did agree to fix the problem, I never got an apology for the poor service or inconvenience. Would not return here ever. read more

We were very pleased with the excellent job done by River Valley Auto on a complete interior/exterior detailing that we purchased as a Groupon. We definitely put them to the test with an older vehicle that we just purchased and was FILTHY!! I MEAN SO DIRTY my husband didn't want to even touch the steering wheel. I searched for a Groupon for a complete detailing and found one for RVA. Even though it was a hike for us to bring our car there as we live on the SE side of Grand Rapids, we decided the Groupon made it worth the drive. The car looks fabulous! Carpets cleaned, every nook and cranny was clean. Actually, being that we bought this service with a Groupon, my expectations weren't that high, but the result was way beyond! I wish we lived closer to try their other auto repair services, but for this service we can highly recommend River Valley Auto! read more
