I needed eleven curtains altered to fit exact spaces I asked for one to be stitched at seven feet and one quarter inch and it was stitched at six feet five inches (see picture) This curtain is ruined I asked for the other ten to be stitched at fifty six inches and they were stitched at varying lengths from forty four to forty five and one half inches None of them were fifty six inches I rated this business as a two because they were nice people but I would never recommend them for alterations to anyone read more

Giving 1 star because I previously got items altered and it was fine. I just got my bridesmaids dress back for my friends wedding in a couple days. My dress was returned to me with a stain! And when I put it on to try it on the strapped that they altered ripped after 5 mins of wear. I'm deeply upset because I spent over $100 to get this dress altered. I will not be returning except to explain to show what they did to my dress. read more

Scotts Valley Cleaners has been very friendly and a trusted service for my family for the last 5 years. The shirts, slacks and blouses are always to expectation, and minor repairs have been an occasional satisfactory service as well. Jin and Yung are always kind and available, and must rarely take a day off. In fact a recent temporary closure notice during the pandemic noted they had not missed a day in the last 34 years. This is truly amazing, as I originally tried out Scotts Valley Cleaners due to their extended hours. Hours have been slightly reduced after re-opening during the pandemic, but this is completely understandable and in summary I can only give my highest remarks to the business, staff and owners. read more

Wow the first review! I guess people don't generally take the time to review their dry cleaner but guess what THIS guy does!! What can I say. They are very, very nice. The prices are reasonable. They do organic dry cleaning, never not once has any of my cleaning been misplaced or not cleaned well. Oh and any alterations I have had done have been done well. Dropped a top off for alteration, for a dance performance. The top was a tank top and just needed to be taken in around the arms. To begin with, the piece was not ready for pick up on the designated day. Came back a few days later, picked it up, good or bad this time, since now it was too close to the performance day and anything had to go. After trying it on once we got it home, the arms had not been taken in AT ALL. I paid $26 for absolutely nothing, but a waste of time. The two good things about this place is that they are fast and polite. I brought in a slinky club wear mini-dress to be laundered yesterday. I'd been wearing it at a river party and it'd gotten dirt on it. The tag said 'dry clean only' so in order to try and preserve the dress I took it into Scotts Valley Cleaners. The man working the desk was nice- he complimented my tattoos and was friendly. I was very happy to hear I could get it back the next day so arranged to do so. Today I went a picked up the mini-dress. It was wrapped in the plastic, but I was very suprised when the lady handed it to me. The dress is silver and it still looked brown with dirt. I was polite but told her, "I think this is still dirty. Is this the best you can do?" She opened the plastic wrap, fondled the skirt slightly, looked over the dress and said, "No, is clean." Okay, so she argued with me If she can't tell a dirty dress, then I'm not going to argue. I just said, "Okay, thanks so much," and left. I took the mini-dress home. I figure if the cleaners says it's clean, then the garment is ruined and I shouldn't care about washing it in woolite. The water ran dirty as anything, several times, and I now have a very clean silver mini-dress hanging on my shower rod. My bad for bringing it to the dry cleaners in the first place, but hey, live and learn. I will never go to this cleaner again, and I really, really want my 15 bucks back. read more

I have gone to several cleaners in the county since moving to the area 20 years ago; this is the ONLY place that has never, ever: Lost, Damaged, Failed, Overcharged, Delayed, or anything else negative. These people are amazing, and in the 12 years I've been a customer, almost always remember the first 3 digits of my phone number and my last name when writing the ticket. This occurs even when it's been weeks since I've gone in. The husband of the couple has been known to speak German and Korean to customers (not much call for that in SV, still...) and the wife of the couple works very hard to make things right for customers. I've taken many alterations in, some of them urgent, and never a problem with following directions, even when the garment had to be sent to her sister over the hill for sewing (but some minor things are altered at the store). They always seem happy to see me, and it's worth saying that the longer-term the customer, the better service one will probably get. (However, after going to a cleaning/alteration/laundry establishment nearby for 5 years, I was not told that my repair was never started. Stopping on the way to the airport and learning this was the last straw. I cannot imagine that happening at SVC, and the woman has even called me a few times to make sure the instructions were correct for my job or my husband's job.) I've had specialty items cleaned at SVC, received the same service as an ordinary laundry job. This is a "green" establishment, as much so as this type of business can be, and they are open late to accommodate commuters. read more

We have been going here for about 2 years and the couple is very nice, but Im afraid there is a bit of a language barrier. Their English is not good enough to have detailed instructions understood, so if you have specific instructions or questions, it might not get followed/answered. Saturday late morning I dropped off my Dry Clean only jacket which was stained in the white collar with my bright pink hair dye and had chocolate shake dripped down the front from the night before. I had a baptism to attend that day and wanted my nice coat to stay warm with. I knew nobody would get it cleaned but I still panicked and tried to get it cleaned. The man at the counter said "No problem be back by 3pm". I knew there was a huge chance my hair dye wouldn't budge but I was hoping the chocolate would. I came back in the afternoon and the jacket was brand new and looked better then when I first received it. They charged me $17 and they should have charged me $50. The thing was a wreck! This is now the only place I will take my clothes too. read more

Unfortunately I had a bad experience here. Queen size down comforter. Picked it up after 3 days. She couldn't find the ticket, went in the back and brought it out but when I got home it looked just as dirty as when I dropped it off and smelled like my dog, so I don't think it was actually cleaned. Cost $35 too. So I don't recommend. read more

DO NOT GO THERE!!! EVER! I brought them an expensive flat brimmed, SF 49ers hat with specific instructions to dry clean it only and to be very careful.. It was a $50 hat! They WASHED it, as in like a WASHING MACHINE! Needless to say, it's absolutely ruined. The cardboard in the brim is warped and folded with a crease and the fabric in the top was/is permanently warped and wrinkled and the cotton hat was shrunk by two sizes! After I paid, I took it out and inspected it. When I saw what they had done I showed them what they had done to it with my mouth wide open. The woman smirked, rolled her eyes and called me PICKY! She didn't even offer a refund, not that I would have taken it, this review isn't about my $5. A sincere apology was the LEAST she could have done, but I guess that would be an admission of guilt and irresponsibility God knows, we couldn't have that!! DO NOT GO THERE!!! EVER! The Korean family in the Safeway shopping center across the street are always very friendly and their English is perfect. They listen carefully and and acknowledge your specific instructions on how your things need to be cleaned. I guess the moral of my story is, if you don't like your expensive things being ruined from callous disregard for specific instructions, you're too picky to frequent Scotts Valley Cleaners with your business. But why should they even need instructions on how to clean an expensive hat? They're a DRY CLEANER! Aren't they supposed to know that you can't wash a hat in a washing machine and it has to be dry cleaned? I mean, what is their purpose for even being there? If ruining it was what I wanted, I could have saved $5 and ruined it myself in a machine! The hat isn't even wearable now, not that I'd want to be seen wearing it NOW. Maybe after all their years in business, maybe mine was their very first hat? Or maybe they're just stupid? At the very least, they showed blatant disregard, disrespect, laziness and irresponsibility for my expensive, less that one month old 49ers hat. DO NOT GO THERE!!! EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After owning a retail furniture business for over 20+ years I can tell you there's an old adage in retail: "A happy customer MIGHT tell a friend. But an unhappy customer WILL tell ten!" They could have at the very least expressed a sincere concern for my dissatisfaction but they acted like they thought it was a joke! Anyone that sees the hat can see what they did to it is no joke! I took it back to the sports clothing shop next door to Nob Hill to show them what that cleaners did to it. I didn't even have to show them, their mouths dropped open and said they've heard similar stories about that cleaner. Never, EVER go there! Go to the cleaner in the Safeway shopping center or go to Vapors in Santa Cruz on Water. They are always excellent because they respect your items and TRULY appreciate your business. read more

Yikes, do not go here. Dropped off 7 shirts on Monday, they said they would be ready Friday. I asked for Thursday since I was leaving on a trip Friday. My wife stopped in at 5:30 and the lady said she didn't know what shirts were mine or how many I had, and asked my wife to look in a pile of 100+ shirts to find mine (which she had no idea what they really looked like). After looking for 30 minutes they found 6. Completely unorganized and didn't seem to care they lost a new shirt. Go elsewhere is you want you clothes back. read more

Don't bring any items requiring mending here. I brought my jeans in to simply replace the button. It took a week, and they damaged the button when they attached it to my jeans. The stem and the button itself was bent, in two places. I should have said something, but I didn't know any better. I don't know how to do these things. So the button came appart, and again I am unable to wear my jeans. They do not do quality work. And they are dishonest. Who damages a button, and gives it back to their customer, and charges them for a damaged item? They had a week, they should have done it over and made sure they did it right. I'll never go there again. And I'll tell everyone I know not to go there. Who has time for bad service? I expect the item to be fixed right, that's what I'm paying for. I'm so disappointed. I went someplace else. Not only did she replace the button in 2 minutes, but she reinforced the material, and charged me less money! read more

I had my clothes in a basket and I took them to the counter. I asked her how much she would charge to clean them. She was taking the clothes out and labeling them while she was giving me the price. When she gave me the price I told her that it was too high and she grabbed onto the basket and would not give the clothes back to me! I know that she speaks poor English, but she knows better. When you ask her a question that she doesn't want to answer she acts like she doesn't understand you. That way she can just pretend that she doesn't understand so that she can do what she wants. read more

We have taken our items here for years, including my husband's work uniforms and they always do a great job. Alas, I took a black & white striped cocktail dress to another cleaners where it was ruined and I was told it was because it was cheap quality (Black Market/White House Brand-not!) so it was my fault. (but that's another review....) BUT, brought the dress with its black color completely seeped into the white stripes and although they said they could not fix it themselves, they explained a method to get a color remover which would probably change the color but hopefully remove the seeping (which it did) and then to re-dye. I now have a sort of gunmetal and lavender striped dress that is unique. Of course, I would have preferred to keep the black & white but it's wearable. Thanks Scotts Valley Cleaners for generously offering good advice to fix someone else's mistake! read more
