While this store is the perfect stop to buy a gift, the true gem is the little cafe in the back! I couldn't resist the sweet tea float sign outside and had to see what that was about! Southern sweet tea (or unsweetened if you'd like) with two scoops of sorbet - yes, please! We opted for the peach sorbet but there were several option. My dad had a root beer float. I love that they used a craft root beer instead of something more common. I went for the iced café au lait. It was the perfect balance of coffee and sweetness! Super cute store, but a little pricey for my taste. I didn't purchase any items, but we did visit the Sweet Tea bar in the back. The young man behind the counter was very helpful and friendly. He let us taste the different sorbet options for the sweet tea floats so we could help decide on a flavor. I opted for the sweet tea and mango sorbet for my float, while my friend chose the classic sweet tea with lemon sorbet. She loved hers and I thought mine was delicious. I could have eaten that mango sorbet all day! It was super yummy. I would definitely stop back by for a sweet tea float! read more

This was my favorite store in Beaufort. Where else can you go to a store and browse around and see the cutest gift items and house stuff and have a sweet tea bar with drinks, tea sorbets, and sweets? I sure have no idea where. I wish this store was closer to me. Everything was great. I loved the set up and everything they had, the people working were super nice and welcoming and the tea sorbet which was a sweet tea with sorbet was so good and fresh. Super perfect for a hot summer day! There are lots of shops right next to Scout's but this one is the best one! read more

Stopped into the sweet tea bar to get a couple cold beverages. My son (age 6) and I both got one. Staff were friendly and it took just a minute to get our drinks, which we enjoyed immensely. When we got outside, my son promptly dropped his drink, spilling it all over the sidewalk. The staff kindly gave us another one at no charge - thank you! The next time we're in the area and have more time, it would be fun to peruse the store. read more

Just do yourself a favor if you're ever in the Beaufort area to stop by and get yourself a sweet tea float. The interior of Scout is neat, with lots of local knick knacks and beautiful glassware. We ordered the peach ice cream and walked around the water front to drink it and it was the perfect thing to cool us down on a hot low-country day. We are headed back today for another!! Market is gorgeous, clean, and well thought out to personify a classy Lowcountry lifestyle. Perfect place to find a gift for someone you like. Y'all, this place is fabulous! A beautiful boutique with tasteful southern finds and a sweet tea bar to boot. This is a weekly stop for my family and we end our week with a Friday afternoon sweet tea float (don't even think about not getting one; they're delicious). They have cool and classy home decor, dresses, wraps, bags, and jewelry for the ladies, and an array of lowcountry specific gifts. This is my go-to shop for hostess and guest gifts. Scout Southern Market on Bay Street in Beaufort is a great place to find cool items that represent Beaufort and the Lowcountry. There are several unique and creative items that I have never seen anywhere else before that are on display. I was able to find some really cool gifts for some people on my list that are harder to shop for. There is a pretty big variety of different items available that you can find something for everybody and even yourself. There is even a sweet tea bar there that was an unexpected surprise, but very tasty and refreshing and tasted good. Scout Southern Market was a treat to shop at and is worth visiting to check out everything. I look forward to coming back here again. read more

Cute little shop in downtown Beaufort. We went in specifically for the sweet tea floats. They had a bunch of cute items, not furniture related, but everything was way over my spending point. The tea float was pretty good especially the passion fruit ice cream. They actually deliver the ice cream in from Charleston, though the girl couldn't figure out where from. We enjoyed the drinks while walking through the small town. I would recommend stopping by if you are in the area and would like a sweet drink. read more

The sweet tea float was one of the things that brought us to beaufort for a long weekend vacation. When we read about the float online we knew we had to have it. Well we were able to give it a try yesterday and it was everything we hoped for. It was a perfect balance of sweet and tart, making it super refreshing. We decided to risk it and hope no one purchased it before we got back from the on-going airshow and festival. On our return we we thrilled to see that it was still there and brought it to the counter for purchase. The owner who check us out was really nice, when we related our story about the lamp and said they would have been happy to put it behind the counter for us as several of their customers had already done. This is an adorable furniture store that has an equally adorable coffee bar inside with some delicious and reasonably priced drinks and treats. I grabbed a salted caramel latte and a biscotti and wandered around the various country chic wares while waiting. The owner was so friendly and welcoming, telling me a bit about the surrounding town as well as the store. There's also an event space next door. I was driving through on my way to florida and checked Google maps for a coffee stop that wasn't a big roadside rest stop, wanting something more fun and preferring to support local business. And I hit the jackpot finding this place! I highly recommend anyone in the area check it out for the great espresso drinks and the adorable housewares, paintings, furniture, and gift.
