Came here with hubby and niece for breakfast and had a great breakfast quesadilla- it was just what I was hoping for. I took half as leftovers for tomorrow. Hubby enjoyed his old country omelette and pancake but not as keen on the home fries. He also took half home. I didn't quiz niece on her meal but she too took about half of it home. Our server was good. I don't live here so I can't really judge the prices, they are higher than where I live but might be reasonable for CA. Most of the meals were in the 11-15 range but if you customize a lot could get pretty high. Regardless I would certainly return on a future visit to town. read more

I discovered, to my surprise, one of the co-owners, CHARLES THOMPSON, listed as the CFO of Scramblez, in fact reads Google and Yelp reviews. I'm now no longer welcome at SCRAMBLEZ. That's okay because I don't need Scramblez, though I will miss the convenience, but Scramblez does need regular and loyal customers. Instead of seeing a negative review as an opportunity for reflection and to repair a customer relationship and reaching out to me 11 months ago when I criticized one of his employees for closing early, Mr. Thompson confronted me in person while I was patronizing his other restaurant, The Third Place, co-owned with his spouse Katie Page. Forward looking business owners constantly look for ways to improve and embrace even negative feedback. After writing a critical review on the Elbow Room in Fresno, the owner reached out to me through Yelp messaging, apologized for the poor service, extended a $50 gift card and VIP treatment on our next visit. It has been VIP since but it is a win for the business, too, because we spend no less than $150.00 each visit. Mr. Thompson told me how he "didn't appreciate" the one-star reviews and how it affected his business. I welcomed a discussion with him, but Thompson's approach was one sided and confrontational. He made light of my criticisms and sarcastically informed me for one dinner service they had all of six customers, and "what I'm supposed to do, lose money?" He rationalized for his employee's poor judgment and no concern for our inconvenience. He rebutted how accommodating his business has been to us and highlighted the accommodation including cutting a thick turkey patty horizontally, essentially making it two thin patties and for making drinks (Long Island Ice Teas) for us that deviated from his "recipe." I apologize Mr. Thompson for asking so much of your business as I never realized how difficult this has been for your business in exchange for our regular patronage, referring others to your business and leaving no less than 20% tip to your wait staff upon each visit. Some facts for you to consider Mr Thompson. Seventy-seven percent of my reviews on Yelp are 4 stars or above, and 66% on Google Maps are 4-stars or higher. Scamblez has received 13 reviews with 3-stars or less (most one star) and only nine 4-stars or higher on Yelp in the last 12 months, and nine reviews of 3-stars or less in last seven months on Google maps. Not surprisingly, Sramblez ownership has been MIA, not acknowledging a single review, good or bad. After two if not three months being closed for evening dining, as of October 2, 2020, Scramblez website, Facebook and Instagram still show operating hours or 7a.m. to 9p.m. M-Sat, and 7-3pm Sunday. Scramblez Facebook page was last updated with a cover photo in February 2018, and last post in July 2017. There appears to be a second FB page but can't tell if it is official. Scramblez' last Instagram post was on June 8, 2020, and reports the business is open for dinner and back to regular hours. There are a few other 2020 IG posts, and none in 2019. In contrast, the owner's latest restaurant, the Third Place, has 34 IG posts since its opening in August 2020. Mr. Thompson, while it may be easier for you to stand on foolish pride, and take my criticisms personally, the facts are clear, you and Ms. Page have failed to pay attention to detail, massage customer egos, stay current on social media, and many other shortcomings. Many small businesses are using Grub Hub and Door Dash to stay afloat. Chow Now and Revel provide more cost-efficient online ordering options. Good luck with your new place. read more

I placed an order through postmates and one of my items was unavailable and I was not spoken to about it until it was out for delivery so I called and was asking questions he let me know postmates illegally added their menu and they don't work with them when I went to ask a question he started yelling at me saying you need to understand what I am saying and when I asked him to stop yelling at me he said I'm not yelling at you I'm trying to get you to understand and then said I was yelling at him. I stayed very calm and he was just rude and disrespectful. I will never order from here again. So our waiter tonight is Jeff. Not being able to decide which soup he wanted to order, Mr. Picky asked and so Jeff very kindly brought a small sample. I know that was being a pain in the you-know-what but I really appreciate that degree of service delivered with a smile and indication there's no problem. Mr. Picky started with the delicious Cream of Broccoli soup, while I opted for dinner salad with extra onion and the great blue cheese dressing. He ordered the Salisbury steak with extra gravy and a massive serving arrived on that plate with lots of beautiful mushrooms and garlic mashed potatoes. Me, I opted for the special which was prime rib with shrimp - what a nice surprise to be asked my preference of fried shrimp or Scampi style. I opted to try the Scampi and was pleasantly surprised by the wine and vegetable sauce with Parmesan on top. Nice. Generous amount of food, plenty for leftovers. Circling back to where we started, I really like this waiter Jeff, really polite, friendly, and just nice in general. I can't say enough great things about Scramblez and the crew that works there. The entire staff is amazing and kind. They work hard to make sure you are satisfied. Breakfast is awesome and is always very filling. They also do lunch AND DINNER. The dinner dishes are phenomenal. Cold beer and great cocktails. The atmosphere is relaxing. If you are into sports it's a great place to watch sports in the bar area. Bar and restaurant are separate so it feels like two different areas with different purposes.
