I've been here 3-4 times now, and every single visit has been consistently amazing. That's hard to find! Everything we've tried has been delicious, and I love that they even have mocktail options for my daughter so she can enjoy the experience too. Yes, it is on the pricier side, but in my opinion, it's absolutely worth it. The staff is wonderful, the ambiance is beautiful, and the upscale décor makes the whole experience feel special. It really makes the atmosphere feel welcoming and relaxed. This place is often busy. During the week it can be a little slower, but I would still highly recommend making a reservation. If you show up as a walk-in they will seat you if a table is available, but your experience will definitely be smoother if you reserve ahead of time. Parking is easy, and you can order drinks at the bar while you wait. I also love supporting this small, locally owned business. The steaks are, by far, some of the best in LA--especially considering the price, flavor, and portion sizes. Truly a 10/10. He did not check IDs, nor did he request wristbands from any of the other parties entering the venue. While seated, I observed numerous groups walk in without being stopped or questioned. When I asked our server why selective entry rules were being enforced, she simply acknowledged that he "only asks certain people." This inconsistent enforcement made us feel singled out and unwelcome. As long-standing customers, we expect fair and professional treatment for all patrons, and this experience fell far short of that standard.

The lunch special is a great way to sample their food, we each had our own wing lunch special, I had the 10 piece, you can get two choices of sauce with the 10pc only, my brother had the 8 piece, each order comes with a drink and your choice of fries or onion rings, great price for the wings. The wings had great flavor and were fair sized, I was very impressed with the "hot" buffalo sauce, very tasty with a small kick, I would recommend a try, I also ordered the spicy teriyaki,it was ok but my brother ordered the spicy lemon pepper that is also a hit and a must try. The french frys were criss cut and good sized portion as well. The staff was friendly, we had a great interaction with the bartender (Ash) who brought over our drinks. The wait staff was pleasant enough, but all the additional charges are out of hand! I had ran into this issue here, previously, as well as at the NEW Coach's just earlier today. We ordered one dozen wings. We asked for the six flats of the order to be "mild" and the six drums to be the spiciest they have (which is not spicy at all). We asked for them to be extra wet. My wife likes ranch with hers, while I like blue cheese. When the ticket is presented, there are up-charges for ALL FLATS and ALL DRUMS, a charge for the blue cheese, a charge for ordering the wings wet. Seriously?! First of all, I had spoken to a manager at this location previously about the up-charges for separating the flats and drums to different flavor profiles. The manager agreed that I should not be charged for this and removed those charges. In discussion with the manager at the NEW Coach's, earlier today, the same consensus was relayed. STOP CHARGING FOR THIS! Look, I could understand if I was ordering six or twelve wings and asking for all of them to be drums or flats. When one orders twelve wings, which is generally equal amounts of drums and flats, why am I attempting to be up-charged twice for having one sauce on all the flats in my order and another sauce on all the drums? Why are you charging me for another dipping sauce on an order of twelve wings? You give one dipping sauce for an order of six wings. You think one dipping sauce is compatible for an order of twelve? You charge me for asking for our wings extra wet? The only reason we ask for them that way is because the wings are nearly dry if you don't. And, the little dollop of sauce that came with the wings was hardly worthy of being called "wet". I had to ask for more sauce because there was not enough to even consider them being viewed as wet when they arrived to the table. This place is going downhill; quick, fast, and in a hurry since the transition to new ownership. Coach's used to be a place we could enjoy going to and count on their menu staples being available (if they weren't sold out!). The fried green beans were in high demand. So much so that they were sold out when we went, a few times. Their pretzels were also a huge hit! The new owners removed them from the menu. I know they have had numerous requests to bring them back, but they couldn't care less. The food has gone downhill, the wait staff is not as lively and personable as they used to be, the extra charges are ridiculous, and the new owners don't give a rat's a$$ about their customers; they only care about trying to make money (while removing a couple of the best selling items on the original Coach's menu). Make that make sense! Remove sell-out items when your only focus is about making money. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is because the waitress was halfway attentive. Good luck with your future, as you continue to lose previously loyal customers!

However, the place has been around for a long time and the rumor is that it is pretty darn good so I figured I would try the lunch menu. I will be returning this weekend to try the dinner menu and report in on any differences that I may find because this lunch experience was somewhat unique and definitely worth writing about. Upon entering, I was washed over with a wave of nostalgia. It reminded me of all of those semi-fancy places I got to experience with my parents in the 1970s from the lighting to the ambience to the music to the general overall feel, which is very welcoming. And if you are as old as I am, will definitely take you back. And that is a great way to get an appetite started. However, that's when things got a little strange... On a Saturday afternoon, they had exactly one young lady tending bar, working the grill, and acting as a server for not only the interior but for the outside patio area. I'm not sure whether or not this is a gimmick or just a very inefficient way to save money, but let me tell you that that young lady worked herself crazy to take care of everybody and under the circumstances did a fine job of it. Unfortunately, the grill is out in the main dining area and an open fire grill unattended can create somewhat of a safety issue. In addition, an old gentleman well into his cups decided to go over and place his face 6 inches above the food that was currently being cooked, which I thought was a little unsettling. Based on all of this, I decided to order a cheeseburger in that I did not want to risk $50-$60 on a steak that was not going to be attended to consistently. That, dear reader, will come to pass this weekend when I go in for dinner this weekend. Now that we have a basic understanding of the layout, I want to mention a few awesome things: The cocktails were very well made. Generous pours, but they didn't overdo it and the result was delicious. I, myself, enjoyed a Mai Tai. The salad bar was modestly stocked, but did not have a bunch of unnecessary, ridiculous items that people seem to think makes a salad taste better. They also had a soup of the day. But, at 95° outside was not on my list of things to eat. Again, that will be Saturday. The cheeseburger was surprisingly delicious due to the fact that I don't think it was looked at more than twice and flipped more than once, but it was pretty darn good with a great char, and medium as ordered. Upon requesting the check, it was noticed that the dinner salad listed on the menu at $7.99 was charged at $25. After three different conversations, the overworked server / cook / bartender realized the error and immediately made things right. All in all this place is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. The research I did shows that the locals just love it. You can go on a classy date or something casual with some friends, and you will still have that sophisticated, refined throwback to an earlier time when going out to dinner was truly an event. The only concern I have is for a staff member having to deal with several people and wear several hats with no backup whatsoever. The inability to stay on top of a grill that is consistently going in the main dining area is a safety concern, but not the fault of the server herself. This is a management decision and I would definitely recommend that a second person is always on whether it is lunch or dinner. She did mention that in the dinner time cycle, there is another person who comes in to assist and that is the reason I'm going back Saturday. I want to see how the dinner turn and burn works because the burger was really good and I imagine that the steaks are gonna be just as good as everybody says they are. It is definitely worth a visit. The décor was a little surprising, considering there was none. It's basically a warehouse with a jukebox. That, coupled with the fact that they were selling random slabs of marble in the corner (seriously), solidified the epicness of horseshoe club for me. Now on to the drinks! I got the attention of the bartender, and politely ordered a mixed drink. "¿Como?" was all I got in return... Hmm, ok, English is out the window, but I can still salvage this. "Dos cervesas por favor," which in the English tongue roughly translates to "let me get two of the finest draft beers this establishment has to offer." A smile spread across the face of my bartender, and she promptly got us two ice cold Coronas. She was nice, and very prompt with each drink ordered. There was a noticeable lack in the usual small talk, but I'll chalk that up to culture differences. I paid my tab, and that's when I realized another gem of MHC; The drinks are very reasonably priced. Overall, it's an absolute must visit at least once if you're up for cheap drinks, or if you need some marble for your house. Cheers!
