My husband and I decided to give Happy Hours Bar & Grill a try and honestly, I wasn't expecting much because I'm usually not huge on American-style food. Originally we just came in for drinks, but somehow ended up ordering baked potato soup too... and I'm so glad we did. I ordered both the watermelon cocktail and the tamarindo cocktail. The watermelon one unfortunately didn't really land for me since it tasted more sour than fruity, which was disappointing. But the tamarindo cocktail? Absolutely delicious. I'd order that one again without hesitation. My husband ordered the peach margarita and loved it as well. Now the baked potato soup was honestly the star of the visit. It came served with tortilla chips and was way better than I expected. I assumed the bacon would just be tiny sprinkled bits, but nope! They gave actual CHUNKS of bacon, which made the soup even better. It was my husband's first time trying baked potato soup and he was completely sold. As for the restaurant itself, it was okay. We came earlier in the day so it wasn't too crowded, which was nice. The atmosphere personally wasn't fully my style since the music was pretty loud and the lighting was a little darker than I prefer, but that's more of a personal preference than an actual complaint. Came from out of town. Ngl this is probably the worst bar I have ever been too. One of the white blonde bartenders was staring at me like she wanted to fight me bro. I didn't even do nothing. I'm the type of girl to smile when we make eye contact but she didn't even smile back, she just stared at me like "what tf you want?" If I could give zero stars, I personally would. I've been to a lot of bars, but this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. Walking into an atmosphere where you feel racially profiled and are asked to leave after just 15 minutes, without any clear explanation, is insane to me. Having a security guard stare you down the entire time, especially in a room full of people, is extremely uncomfortable and unwelcoming--especially for a first-time visitor. I've never felt as racially profiled as I did there. Also, one of the bartenders with red hair was very unprofessional when I tried to ask for a manager's number or a point of contact. It was interesting not a lot of staff but it was crowded. Took longer to order than actually receive our food and I could only get one drink entire time there second one came and we had been there for hours...food was good. For a bar to have a drink it's ok. Bar food, nothing special. Bbq chicken wrap was just ok, the chicken was dry. The beer could've been colder. The ambiance is pretty obnoxious. The music is so loud you literally have to yell so the people at your table hear you. Service was slow as well. There are better options. read more

Heard people talking about this place and they started doing karaoke on Friday's, so I figured I'd check it out. Place looked mostly clean. Bartenders were friendly and quick. The karaoke was very loud and the host seemed a little wild. She was often singing a long to the music really loudly. Kind of a rough crowd as well. Not my vibe and I love karaoke bars. They do have a full kitchen which is nice and the food did look pretty good. I left after my first drink and don't anticipate going back. read more

I've been a loyal regular at Happy Hours Bar & Grill for a long time, but after my experience yesterday, I'm genuinely reconsidering coming back. To start, our server was new -- very polite, but clearly not familiar with the menu or Happy Hour pricing. She misinformed us about beer specials and then she switched with a server who has been there for a while. We then asked to swap out the beers after learning they weren't discounted, we were told we had to keep them because they were already poured -- at double the price we expected. That alone was frustrating, but it didn't stop there. We were celebrating a birthday and asked right when we got there for a surprise brownie to be brought out at the end. Instead, the server told the birthday person directly that we had requested one -- completely ruining the surprise. Then, she took long time to come back and take our food order, after eating she asked -- in front of the birthday guest -- whether she should just cancel the brownie because the kitchen was closing soon. HOW RUDE! That was clearly the whole purpose why we went out to celebrate a birthday... To top it all off, we were rushed out around 11:15 even though the place is supposed to close at midnight. That last 45 minutes might not matter to everyone, but it felt like a clear signal that we were no longer welcome. Looking for a place to watch the playoffs and didn't want a BWW-type experience. Chose this great spot in Quartz Hill and did not regret it! Great service (and solo waitress and cook for the first half of the game!), good food, and a really nice sports bar but family atmosphere. Dinner on a Saturday night was awesome. First time there and really enjoyed the whole atmosphere. Got there early, around 4ish and was able to find a seat inside no problem. By the time we left at 5:30 the place was packed. We ate different appetizers which were all great. We hit up the calamari, jalapeño poppers, and animal style Tots. All were excellent and the calamari stood out 100%. The waitress was very sweet and kind but was super over worked. It was the two girls for the 50 of us but they never stopped jamming. Only catch (4 stars) was the fact that when our "3" selection appetizer came, it was rather small in the number in the basket (3 poppers, 2 somewhat small chicken strips, and thankfully 4 southwest egg rolls). We do not have many fun and safe bars in the AV. But Happy Hours is definitely both ! Wait staff is quick and super friendly as are their cooking crew! Security are also super cool as long as you're not being a RICHARD. Prices on alcohol are about the same as any other place. I will never step foot into this establishment that has the most poor customer service I have ever witnessed and it's all because the security guard trying to act as a law-enforcement officer. I was physically manhandled and disrespected and yelled at with foul language for simply walking in with my backpack on that I was going to give to a friend of mine for school. When I respectfully talk to the security guard and asked him why he's being so disrespectful and rude he decided to kick me out the bar and if I had enough time on my hand I would definitely Sue this place because he threatened to pepper spray me when I was trying to understand what I did wrong. SAT Dec 11 Hubby and I arrived at 140 pm. We waited 15 min before the one and only waitress came by and took our drink order. .we tried to say and we would like. . but she ran off.. 20 min after getting our beers we were able to order. I got the Burger my hubby the blue burger. The burgers came out Black. .like Charcoal. I bit in and it went CRUNCH. OK they have no staff I get it but do NOT serve BURNT FOOD. If they had said , Hey its gonna be 10 min more I would not be writing this. Yes I told tge waitress to remeve the Cahr burger for our tab which she did. 1 hour 50 min we were there. Beers were great .food and service were horrid but yes we tipped 20% because that's who we are. Never again on a Saturday. BTW. No napkins on tables and soap in either bathroom eeewww. Chill and laid back with more than fair prices and an exceptional selection of draft beer. Waitresses are always kind, friendly, and provide great service. Food is decent. Really enjoy this place! I've been been three times already in the short amount of time it's been open. I love the barbecue chicken pizza, the cheese curds are pretty good. The beer is pretty cold most of the time. I think that they were using warm glasses with my cold beer one day so it made my beer a little less cold but it wasn't bad. Really looking forward to when they expand the menu. Really hoping for some delicious onion rings and chicken strips. I have been here a few times and overall I have been happy. Good prices, extra deals on certain nights. The food has been good, it's pretty straight forward. It feels a little crowded at time and can be pretty noisy, but it is a sports bar not a romantic dinner date place so I can't complain too much. Alot of TV'S in every direction so with the open floor plan there is no wrong place to sit. Every server I have had has been great. My only gripe is be sure to ask what time the kitchen closes if you want to order food each time I have been here the kitchen had closed at different times... but with the good prices and food, as well as convenient location, I'll be back.
