With your ticket, you get to experience 5 haunted houses, show on the main stage, interact with a ton of spooky characters, watch black and white movies and plenty of photo opportunities! You can also walk through a museum, visit a psychic, axe throwing and enjoy lots of fun food and drinks, beer and cocktails. Plenty of souvenirs shops too! Ranked are my favorite to least favorite: * Terra Mythica Castle - Scariest Haunted House. * Times Up Maze - Most interactive but still scary! I would have definitely done this one twice! * Hell Dolls on the Main Stage! Sooo good! * Klownz in 3-D - very different from any other haunted house I've been too! After screams became Scarborough's Hollow it became extremely dull. They changed it to be less scary and more "family friendly." We were all bored, my sons, age 12 and 14, were bored out of their minds. The shops were interesting but the environment lacked entertainment. It's basically a fall version of Scarborough, just slap some pumpkins, hay barrels and fall leaves here and there and done. Bring back the fear of Screams. This was not worth the money. read more

Screams is the halloween event the ren-fair puts on during spooky season. While the haunts themselves are not the best we've been too we appreciate screams for being a place you can genuinely spend an entire evening. Once you are inside, you can visit the 5 haunts inside as often as you want or are able to for the evening. They make use of the fairs food stops & shops to give folks a place to shop, grab a bite or enjoy some drinks while there. I do recommend getting there close to opening and spending as much time as you can there to get the most bang for your buck. As well, try to go earlier in the Halloween season as lines get longer & crowds larger as it gets closer to actual Halloween. If you absolutely have to go closer to Halloween or Halloween weekend then you might want to spring for VIP, though going opening weekend it's a waste to get vip cause the lines are short. Also stop to watch the hell dolls show! I think it was around 8pm & 10pm the night we went; but check when you are there to be sure. read more

It was an ok experience. When we got there (for my best friends 26th bday) we were told no costumes! I didn't see this when purchasing online i saw no Halloween masks. After driving an hour to get here we all were super surprised that they were adamant on me taking off my halo and angel wings which wasn't a big deal. I had to trash them!!! My best friend and her fiancé were Pirates. After taking off their bandanas again a rude white lady, Karen, told him he was still dressed as a pirate (because of the striped pants) and he couldn't come in!! The staff was extremely rude And for the price we paid (admission plus fast passes each) you'd think they'd act a little more sympathetic! Not to mention once we finally got to enter, (after my friend had to remove his pants and go in shorts in 50 degree weather) to our surprise we saw people inside IN COSTUMES!!!! Added a picture for reference. So I'm not sure why we were harassed the way we were. For that alone, i will not be back and wouldn't recommend this place. Came here on Saturday night with a few friends. It was about $42 for tickets online with tax per person for general admission. This place was actually really cool. I loved that they have multiple haunted houses (I believe there was about 5), and that they have food, games and shops. The wait time for the haunted houses were a bit long between 45min-2 hours wait to just walk through for about 10-15min. We ended up buying the flash passes for $30 extra so we can get to see the haunted houses quicker. The best haunted house attraction that they had was the clown one where they have you wear 3D glasses while walking though. It was a bit scary but honestly all the scary people did was just stand at the corners. I was expecting to be chased a little or something, but we still had a lot of fun. The food is okay it was mostly basic things like popcorn, donuts, baked potato, nachos etc. I got one of the chocolate covered pretzels which was good. It was in the shape of a one eyed monster. The games were fun and unique. We tried to shoot basketballs into the net for a prize. The basketballs were replaced with human heads and that made it really interesting and was really fun. Over all I would recommend this place to come with family and friends. It's friendly for kids probably at ages 7 and up. It's fun and spooky! It can be a bit pricy though! read more

We visited Saturday night (10/16/21) and had a blast. We read the reviews ahead of time and had a friend give us some tips. We love trying new haunted houses every year. Here are a few tips. Arrive early... like 7:15p and buy the fast passes. We went back and forth on the fast passes. However, since we were driving from over an hour away we decided to splurge. It was well worth it. Hit the haunted houses right away. Turn left when you enter and just hit every house as you go. By the time we hit all 5 most of the waits for general admission were 1-3 hrs. We never had to wait more than 10-30 mins with the fast passes. Skip the food. Eat before or after. We bought a turkey leg, 2 fries and 5 waters which were $40 and not good. Save your money and time in lines. Everyone liked a different haunted house. They all had their own personality. The Maze was my least favorite but others in the group enjoyed. It is great fun if you're looking for a Halloween fall fun type of theme park. Don't go there expecting to be super freaked out by the haunted houses. I mean unless you are someone who is easily startled it is just funny more than anything else. And this is coming from someone who is probably the most easily scared person on earth. After a while you know when it is coming. GO WITH FRIENDS and you will have the time of your life. Go early also because I hear that this place gets insane closer to the holiday. We went on the opening weekend and still waited in a few lines, I can't imagine going closer to Halloween. The actors this year are amazing and the whole park has a great Halloween theme going on this year. Security was very on top of any incidents taking place too. Would highly recommend going if you're looking for great Halloween fun. I should note-my friend and I did pay $20 for a Fast Pass once we saw the lines. Came for the first time in 2015 & it had rained earlier that day so it was extremely muddy. Cars were getting stuck in the mud when leaving. But even after all the mud, we still enjoyed it enough to come back this year. This time there wasn't mud but there was a lot of people. Took a good hour to get into 1 haunted house. The actual haunted houses were ok. Not the scariest but not horrible. The pizza & turkey leg weren't good. They had maple popcorn that was good. I recommend comfortable shoes cause it's a lot of walking & standing. I hadn't been to Screams in a while, so I was glad to go this year. We went on a Friday night around 8pm. I like this place, because although it's a little scary it's not super scary. I'm a chicken sh*t when it comes to haunted houses. I think it costs about $25 to get in. We bought the speed pass for another $15. Well worth it even though you feel like an asshole cutting in front of everyone that's been standing in line. No waiting, FTW. There are several haunted houses that you can go in as many times as you want. As well as the haunted maze and haunted grave yard. Then there was one haunted house that cost $5. My favorite part of this is grabbing some beers and walking around and checking out everything. We did the Tarot card reader, and thought she was awesome. We watched the insulting guy getting tomatoes thrown at him. That dude is so funny. And my favorite haunted house is the one where you wear the 3-D glasses. Trippy! They close at 1am and we shut the place down. Hope to go again next year! read more

We were first greeted by the sight of flames lighting the night sky illuminating the castle entrance to the park. The flame thrower belches out flames erratically, and it's the perfect start to a spooky and fun filled night. This marks the 3rd visit for me. First tip, get your tickets and speed passes online. Not only do you skip the HUGE line to get in, but the speed pass cuts the wait time significantly when you get inside. Even the extra $15 per person makes this park a great value when you consider you are getting about 4 hours of entertainment. It is the best value for haunted houses in the metroplex. The atmosphere aided my the old world inspired shops, decorations, and talented actors steal the show here. Especially the actors that scare patrons while walking through the park. They cleverly have several of these actors close to the lines to get into the hunted houses. And watching these guys and girls work is a great way to pass the time while you are in line. This one psycho clown guy really stole the show. He would lumber around being really quiet. I was not very impressed at first. But then he would suddenly spin around towards a group of people walking past and tear after them like an angry rooster blasting this bazaar noisemaker/light device. I saw more than a few people scatter. Very charming. The hunted houses are decent, but not the best. It can be a bit of a struggle to get to all 5 in a night. The Pirate Cover is the best because of all the visual effects they put inside. Of all the haunted houses that one seems to change the least. But it's ok since I only go once a year. I think they lean on the air compressor burst a few too many times, but the hidden areas and scare actors are good. When I was a little boy I remember sometimes there would be an actor inside a haunted house giving monologues. "No one leaves here alive, and these walls never give up the spirits, and soon your spirit shall haunt this place...ect" I have never seen that since, but it would be nice to. Almost like Shakespeare in the park for Halloween. I wish they would do that here. The food and drink prices are what you would expect from a theme park. Tip 2, eat before you come. Money scam IMO. Went with a group of friends, bought tickets a week in advance and STILL waited in a line to get in. We spent 1hr waiting in line just to go through a party city prop house with ONE actor that had greeted us initially. There is 0 scare factor. It's more or less a photo opportunity with the actors and a money spend on small carnival games. If your a kid, I could see it being fun, but as a teenager? It was a bust :( read more

Attended on Saturday 10/7/17. We were very afraid of the long lines. So, we arrived at the opening of 7:30pm and tried to get in as much as we could before the crowd came. We did not purchase a fast pass. We were able to visit 4 of the 5 haunted houses before leaving at 11:00 And, we spent some of the time eating and drinking. Clown Maze - Very fast moving line. No problem even at 10:00. Pirate Theme (our favorite) - Line was not bad early, but grew to a decent size by 10pm. Haunted Graveyard - 10 minute wait at 8:00. Probably doubled in size by 10pm. Haunted Hotel - About 40 minutes at 10pm. Very slow moving line. Haunted Castle - We bypassed this early because of the line. However, the line only grew to be HUGE as the night went on. Unfortunately, we did not get to visit the Haunted Castle. The Castle line is next to the Haunted Hotel line that we were in about 10pm. Both lines moved very slow. But, the Castle line was several times longer. If we waited 40 minutes for the Hotel, I can only imagine how long the Castle line would be without a fast pass. This was our first time at Screams. I expected to wait in long lines and then breeze through the haunted houses quickly. But, the haunted houses were much larger inside than expected, which was a nice surprise. The Pirate themed house is 3D. This was the favorite of everyone in our group. Some people had mentioned problems getting food and drinks due to large lines. But, the food and drink vendors kept things moving with little to no lines (at least before 11pm). Food and drink prices were fair IMO. I do wish there were more characters running around outside of the haunted houses. I think we saw a total of 4 of them the entire night. All in all, I would recommend Screams if you have never been. Just get there early and head straight to the Haunted Castle and knock that out. Save the Clown Maze for last as that line moves very fast. read more

Paid extra for fast pass and still waited in long lines 30-45 minutes with drunk idiots yelling and spilling their drinks all over you in line. Sorry to say this but we wont be returning. Reindeer manor is much better and it doesnt feel like your at an outside club. Dont get me wrong folks we get our drink on but sometimes you gotta draw the line. Getting wasted, fall on your face drunk before entering a haunted house is kind of lame. Not the same as it used to be. Do not waste your money. We've been going to Screams since 1999 and it has gotten worse year after year. We keep going - hoping that THIS year will be the year that they bring it back to it's former glory - but no, not this year. We will not be going back. We paid $27 for admission and an additional $15 for the fast pass. Honestly the best thing we did was to buy the fast passes, because if I had to wait an hour to get into these lame haunted houses, I would have been really really upset. The only house that was even remotely 'scary'. (And I am being generous by using this term) was the Hotel of Horror. The Maze? LAME. The Pirates of Peril? - LAME. Castle of the Doomed?? LAME. Zombie Wasteland? - LAME. NONE OF THEM WERE SCARY!!! There weren't enough actors in costumes walking around or in the haunted houses. They also did not have the graveyard that you could walk through once you entered the park. Little by little they are taking away the things that used to make this a great experience. What they do have an abundance of is vendors. If I wanted to shop I would go to a flea market. I go to a haunted house to be scared! For those of you that remember Screams in it's heyday, they used to have an awesome Haunted Hayride and it was scary as crap b/c this guy with a chainsaw would chase the trailer and hit the sides. The maze used to be AH-MAZING when the actors would chase you and hit the chain link with chainsaws and you felt like you were literally running for your life! They used to have a Haunted Museum with cool movie artifacts and memorabilia. All of it is gone, and I'm sad to say will probably never return. read more

Alright y'all. This place is 100% legit. I loved the atmosphere. We got there about 30-40 mins after it opened. We didn't buy fast passes at first... Walked around the festival to get a lay of the land, then decided to head into our first house. We waited an hour from beginning to end. We conversed with some people in the fast pass line and found out that they had waited HALF THE TIME that we did. We bought fast passes immediately after that. Mind you, this was the last night it was open. The fast passes were 100% worth it. Outside of 100% recommending the fast passes, the rest of the haunt was pretty awesome. Mostly jump scares, but enjoyable to say the least. The festival was filled with awesome shops, food and BEER! 10/10 would recommend. With most haunts though you have to allow yourself to be scared. If you're looking for something extreme, this is not the place for you (or probably any haunt that doesn't require you to sign a waiver). Lots of fun for a group or even a family! read more

Just had our second visit to the park and it was very fun. The first time in 2014 we arrived at 9pm and it was the weekend before Halloween so the lines were crazy long. This year we planned ahead. We picked a sooner date 10/7 and arrived at opening 7:30. The lines didn't get long until around 10pm. The pricing for games and food was pretty reasonable just remember to bring cash bc that is all they take inside the park. There was a long line at the 1 ATM. My son (8) had a wonderful first haunted house experience and we can't wait to return next year. read more

One of the best Halloween experiences available in the Dallas area. For $24.99, you have access to a large area with several different haunted houses. The aspect of this experience that separates it from the competition, however, are the actors. There are many actors, in costume and acting their parts, throughout the grounds. They do everything from jump out of bushes and scare you, to sneaking up behind you, or just wandering up and randomly bantering with your group. These people obviously love what they do, and their enthusiasm really contributes to an overall fun atmosphere. Alcohol and food is also available. You can also get a "Late Night Pass" for $15 if you are short on cash. This pass is only available after 10:30pm, but the park is open until 1:30am, so you've got 3 hours of haunted house fun. I also like to go a bit early in the season, like October 15th or so, as the lines don't seem to be a long then. This place is the best scare for your buck. I want to rate it higher but I can't help it. Screams bills itself as the worlds largest Halloween themed park. It is pretty big and does provide some great scares, but the experience is mired in the trappings of it's own design. It's grown so popular that it's too popular for it's size. There were teeming crowds everywhere this weekend in the meager half sized area they setup on the Scarborough Faire site. Lines are poorly timed and crowds are a little on the rough side, especially closer to closing time and people start double fisting the beers. I never saw anything really bad occur, but there were more than enough visibly intoxicated people to make you wonder how some of those people were going to be getting home. Especially since the cops are all over the parking lot waiting to nab someone on a DUI. (They had at least one car when I was leaving.) I went this last weekend at 9pm and only made it through 3 attractions the whole evening by the time we left at 1:30am. We stopped after the second attraction to go get drinks and a snack, which was more out of necessity than anything. We were really just rehydrating and stretching our legs. The main attraction had a line that claimed would only take an hour and I waited for over 2 hours and ten minutes for a five minute attraction. The third attraction we saw had us in line for nearly an hour at midnight. The production values and dedication of the performers at Screams are top notch. They do a fantastic job with what they do, and if not for the teeming masses there to drink and stand in line, it was a great experience. I've seen many parks where the actors only get halfway into it or don't interact well with the crowds. The characters here are totally believable, fun, quick on the draw in dealing with today's bratty kids. The park needs to seriously consider some better traffic strategy or put in more attractions for what they offer. The concept of a fast pass works as a premium for those who want to pay for it but it's concerning that you can't even see all of the parks main attractions, shops, booths, and other sights in a single evening because you'll spend over half your time there waiting in a queue. Not unless you want to pay another $15 for the pass over the $22 entry price. (FYI, $37 for the whole evening per person is really hard to swallow given that Six Flags is only 30 minutes away, and cheaper WITH rides.) A person with a FastPass could literally walk through all the attractions in maybe an hour or two tops. If I had the inclination to go back and fight the crowds they would need to get rid of premium pricing for the hayride and mazes, throw in another haunted house or three and it would be a better fit for the amount of people there. It's literally trying to draw in Six Flags sized crowds to a park that is about the same square footage of the West End Marketplace. Otherwise the experience at Screams is going to become a victim of it's own years of growing success. read more

I went this 2013 season and had a blast. They had a haunted grave yard, pirate themed house, clown maze, haunted hotel, and a haunted chaste. So the haunted graveyard may not be an official haunted house in their eyes, but I thought the actors did a really really good job and their costumes were FANTASTIC. Good job graveyard characters! After the graveyard I went to the pirate ship themed house. You are given 3d glasses and the walls are painted colors that react to it. This was my favorite part of the Screams park. The actors were greate but the painted walls and ceilings were awesome. My favorite parts of it was the actor with the black suit and the head sewn to his body, he blends right in. Also the spinning room near the end was awesome with the 3d glasses. I liked this house so much that we did it twice. After that we did the maze. I'm not scared of clowns so maybe that is why I wasn't impressed with the actors. Also we did get really really lost for a while. I wouldn't have minded being lost for so long except the srobe lights were really overwhelming and annoying. I didnt find this attraction scared at all. The haunted hotel was next. They called it a hotel but there were hosptial stretchers and a few things that made me thing of a hosptial in places. It just didnt make sense to me. I was the least impressed with the actors in this attraction. Last was the haunted castle. I enjoyed this one and thought the actors did a good job and were pretty believable. The two by four walls were a little lame, but there is only so much I can expect out of a haunted house that's thrown up every year and torn down. The food and beer were a little expensive but cheaper than most things that call themselves a "theme" park. So the over all down side was that signs of "Scarborough" are very clearly there. Things are barricaded off, and closed up. I sort of expected to see haunted themes all over, and pretty much that was limited to the haunted houses themselves. I like Screams, I really do. It's set up the same place Scarborough Faire is, so if you know where that is, you now where Screams is. One of the biggest draw here is the booze. I haven't ever been to another haunted house/attraction that serves booze. Granted, no hard liquor, but wine/beer/wine-coolery fruity drinks. My advice is to get here EARLY. Their main problem is the crowds. I haven't been back in a couple years (been low on cash, what with the new car, an accident totaling the new car, then another new car), but we waited forever in line. I went there with my friend L, a fellow haunt connoisseur like myself, and I think we only made it into 2 attractions before close. Things might have changed since I've been, but the crowds/lines are the only things keeping this from a 4 or possibly even 5 star review. Get there early, do as much as you can, and spring for the VIP/fast pass. It's worth it, overall. They even do things like karaoke on some nights, show movies, and have actors in costume roaming the grounds to scare you while you pass time not in line or in a haunt. My best friend, M, and I did multiple haunts every year with our moms, and we once found a werewolf man with a chainsaw and begged him to go scare the crap out of M's mom. And he totally did. She's terrified of chainsaws. Worked perfectly. Another character I always loved was Crazy Kate. Wonder why... She wandered around the grounds with fake cockroaches that she petted and talked to. I don't know if she's still there or not, but if they need a NEW Crazy Kate, they need not look further than this Yelp review! The folks there really get into their roles, and the haunts themselves are usually pretty good. There are usually at least 4 separate haunts, and once you pay to get into the park, you can visit each house as many times as you like for no extra charge. Which is definitely a plus. You'll have to get there early to accomplish this, though... So, get here early, bring a DD (because seriously if you don't, you WILL get pulled over), and have fun. We waited for over an hour in a long line of traffic just to get to the parking lo. Once we arrived at the entrance of the park employees tried to convince us to leave and return the following weekend, saying because the park was 'slammed.' Most of houses had over a three hour wait, we only were able to visit one house which was kind of lame. Turkey leg is $12 and bland. Cemetery straight up sucks, not scary. Also some employees introduced a rubber, dodge ball type ball to the line and people were getting hit hard in the face with it, eventually amid got slammed in the eye and a fight almost broke out. We will NEVER come here again! Basically they sold as many tickets as possible regardless of how that would diminish the guest experience. read more

The amount you pay for what you get is actually a good value. We opted for the Flash Passes and we got there at 8 and left before midnight. It would be tough to see everything without the passes I think... the lines were long and annoying without. Beer is $5.50 for 8 ounces! What? I thought they did a good job on most of the houses. Haunted Graveyard- eh. And the clown maze is just incredibly annoying- but the rest of them are good. The staff was super nice. As a friend once told me a good rule of thumb with a haunted house is that if you get a minuet per dollar you spent in the haunted house then your getting your moneys worth. For the ticket price this place meets that expectation. This is one of the few haunted houses I can get my husband and a group of friends to go to with me so it is worth the outing. I end up missing out on a lot of haunted houses because I don't want to drive by myself to the outskirts of the metroplex or random parts of the metroplex that have haunts. They don't change to much of it every year but people watching and going in with a few different people can make it a different experience every time. I've managed to go with a different group of friends, with a few of the same people crossing a couple years visits and it's met the needs of a lot of different kinds of people. There are a lot of food options and a bar inside which can make the evening more entertaining. Even if your not a haunt fan you can go just for the drinks and people watching while your friends go thru haunts, even more entertaining. I'm a pretty hard scare but this place, even if I don't get scared, has had some pretty funny and interesting memory's ... so I'm a fan. read more

Went here tonight. We got in at 8:30 and I loved the atmosphere! We stopped in the witch castle first and it was awesome - good start for the night. Next up.....zombie wasteland. 1 1/2 hour wait and was mostly walking through hallways. A bit of a let down. Next up pirate house. 1 hour and 15 minute wait and while it was better than zombie wasn't as good as castle. At this point 12:45am kids were tired - so was I and we didn't have it in us to wait in another long line. If you get the fast pass you save about half the time they say. Honestly I don't think you could make it through all without it. Overall I can tell they put a lot into it but the long waits in between are a bit of a drag. I'm not usually one for spending even more money when I'm buying 4 tickets but if you have the money spend it and save some wait time. Other call outs They have a great makeup artist(s) and there were kids there so it wasn't too terrible (or super gory) for kids but they need to be prepped for the houses. Probably not good for really little ones as their website states. **i would add that many haunted houses you will wait 1 1/2 hours too and be over in 15 minutes and go home...so I should give credit that if you want more there is at least more here. read more

Went here with a friend on the last day the park was open. There was NO lines, which was a relief. If you bring a purse, or large bag they will search it to see if you have brought in food or drinks. Just FYI. The haunted houses were OK. I liked the castle one the best. The pirate one was annoying with all the water they keep squirting at you. The scariest one is the insane asylum. The actors wouldn't leave me alone. I get the fact that this is an amusement park, but I don't want to be chased by a clown with a fake chainsaw. There are a lot of places to eat that sell: pizza, burgers, fries, onion rings, hot dogs,ice cream, candy apples, popcorn, candy, ect. They do have beer. I tried the pumpkin beer which was AMAZING. Also, while you're eating, the clowns with the fake chainsaws will come up to you. I'm like, "I'm trying to eat here. Go away." I do recommend this place. Some parts might be scary for younger kids. Wear comfortable shoes because the ground is gravel. I was wearing flats, and I could feel the pebbles through my feet. read more

The 5 haunted houses are pretty meh compared to the really good haunted houses around dallas (dark hour and cutting edge) but there's a lot to do here and you could be here all day trying stuff which speaks volumes about the place. It's like the state fair meets a haunted house. I enjoyed myself here and will come again one day. You should try it if you're considering it. read more
