I hadn't taped up the box and his policy is to charge two dollars for tape. That is clearly his prerogative as a business owner. He got his two dollars of profit from me a now one time customer. My experience made be wonder how UPS vetted their franchise owners -- so that they didn't risk tarnishing their brand. It also made me wonder why Zappos's would use UPS for their returns versus their parent company Amazon's own return system, which is so much more customer oriented. If I choose to use UPS again, it will be a different store, but more likely will pick an alternative

Although the owner is extremely creative and did build a good looking web site, it was never functional or without error. The errors were everything from pictures overlapping, typing that was not in order or for on the screen to boxes that were just not functioning. It was also extremely difficult because as the domain owner, I was not allowed to access all the things with my own site and had to depend on this company to do certain things. The most recent example (and the reason for finally writing a review) is how I took my own domain and built a beautiful and total functional e-commerce myself on Shopify last March but I've been charged $42 every month from Bluehost still. When I reached out to The Portland Company and asked that they please cancel my Bluehost account that they set up, I was literally told to do it myself or I'd be charged as it is "out of scope". The Portland Company set up that account under their own name, emails and passwords. I've had a open ticket to fight this with Bluehost now for 4 months. This is the most perfect example of how my entire relationship with The Portland Company has been. Everything that should be a easy fix is dragged out to be the most difficult situation. They will argue, deny, lie and blame shift any responsibility even when the facts are right there. The marketing department at the mall where my business is located wouldn't even work with Spencer because of his confusing, unprofessional and incomplete work. The marketing team at my mall actually gave me a list of other media companies to use instead.

The process for a simple stripe job to be done on my Charger took over a year for him to actually complete, he failed to take the stripes all the way down the bumper like I originally requested and made clear it was important to me to have. He also tried to order after market stripes, that I told him I didn't want, proceeded to put them half way on my car and had to remove them once he figured out they were incorrect. During that time he had my car for almost 2 weeks and had zero progress, and tried to charge me for the stripes he order against my wishes. Once he made time for me months later and after wanting multiple weeks for him to get the material in he finally got it in his shop. But ended up keeping it there twice as long as he told me he was going to need it. Although that was more understandable due to the stripes needing to be hand cut at this point. After getting the car back I was really happy with the results although disappointed he didn't get it all the way down the front bumper. It's been a few months at this point and I attempted to set up a time for him to take a look at the stripes just to make sure everything it still sticking well. I got ahold of him and he said he would call me on Tuesday as soon as he got back to the office. Tuesday came and went, so I texted the following Monday and he responded that I no -call no-showed the prior week. I immediately responded and haven't heard from him since as well as sending him pictures of the part of spoiler that are starting to peel (I'll add pictures if possible), as well as the hood. My overall experience it that I enjoyed talking to him, but completely unhappy with his fallow through and professionalism. I think Troy over schedules what he and his team can actually accomplish in the timeframe he sets, as well as taking care of his clients as they come in.
