I'm frustrated to say the least. Sarah and Scrub-A-Pup are simply the best. Why am I frustrated, because we moved out of the area and no one can follow the professional and caring approach Sarah has taken with my Dogs. One has since passed at 15 years old but my boy Rocky needs a Sarah. He's not easy with his emotions and energy but truly is an amazing family dog and phenomenal athlete. Sarah knows how to handle him and he's learned to respect her! My Son now uses Sarah for his dog and he too would go nowhere else. Even since I've moved I've texted with Sarah to get advice on a new groomer and she's been extremely helpful. I may just have to drive into Orange County every 6 weeks to get Rocky cleaned up. I am THRILLED with our groomer we had come to the house today!! I wasn't sure what to expect & I am glad I didn't have any expectations. It allowed me to sit back and trust the process. My golden had an appt at a local groomers prior. He has a bit of a stubborn personality along with hes a big boy, and the groomer had some issues with him laying down refusing to move. And while it was both serious and funny, I never want my animal somewhere there is stress, as well as the cause of any. So I messaged this company and shared he might be stubborn. He loves loves loves LOVE and he is a ham. They assured me they could handle him and set the appt. MEAGAN was AMAZING! She took him into the mobile van & when he returned he was so clean and handsome of course, but HAPPY most of all. He loved it. He even ran to the door to kiss her goodbye again. She had zero issues with him and said he listened to all her instructions and behaved so well. I am THRILLED we chose to go with SCrub a Pup and if you are having doubts, look no further. Scrub a pup has been cleaning my two high-anxiety, full-of-fur German Shepherds for a few years now and are SO great with them. They never ever complain when my dogs refuse to get in the damn van. Instead they laugh it off and always make me feel better when I feel so awful about my dogs being a pain. My dogs come out of the van smiling, clean as can be and don't shed whenever you just touch them. Not to mention they come out wearing the cutest holiday-themed, or season-themed bandanas. I know times are tough. We are all worried about staying safe. I wanted to specifically address the safety protocols Scrub A Pup is taking. After our Pomerania, Mr Mick, was groomed I was talking with the owner, Sara. She was doing her usual cleaning of the van. I was totally amazed at the detailed cleaning. She sprayed cleaner everywhere and I mean everywhere. Cabinet handles, nooks and crannies. Wiped out spotless. I thought she was done and was impressed. She then sprayed a special mist, some kind of sanitizer. Anyway I could go on but then I'd miss the best part, the work she did on our doggo. He wears one of those fancy cuts, like teddy bear or something. That's one of those that takes years of practice to get right. Sara is truly an artist. I first heard of this awesome groom mobile through randomly searching on the web for a grooming place when I used to have a shih-tzu. I never knew this type of service existed and sparked my interest, so I decided to give it a try. How it works is you call to make an appointment, then they'll drive to your place and groom your pets (for dogs only) right on your front yard! How convenient is that? During the times I used this service, I was never disappointed at how my dog turned out. The price range for my dog was usually 65 dollars. For his first time, it costed around 70-75 dollars to get a fur cut for his terrible knots he provided, trimmed nails, scented shampoo, cleaned ears, brushed teeth for his terrible breath and nearly unhealthy gums, and eliminated his terrible eye boogers. It does get pricey but I love my dog and how he turned out afterwards, so can't put price on what or who you love, right? Just like any other grooming shop, it depends on what kind of works you need or want for your dog then the price will vary from there. Usually when I call, there's always a woman making the appointments but a man would always come to groom my dog. So I'm guessing a family or a married couple runs this mobile service. Very friendly and very helpful when asked for suggestions. Well worth every penny spent. It was super fast and easy to book the appt via text and they even gave me an 2 hour arrival window ahead of time. My groomer arrived towards the end of the window, but that was totally okay since I was able to plan ahead. Lauren was their groomer and she was very friendly & I explained to her that my dogs get timid/nervous with new people and she was very kind and careful with them and she let them warm up to her before putting them in the van. He had sores and swelling and I couldn't take him to a regular groomer because he would scratch himself relentlessly while waiting to be picked up. I unfortunately didn't even get to experience this businesses service. Nevertheless I wanted to share my experience because of how this company conducts business! Because I feel it is equally important as the way they treat animals. I asked my new vet to recommend a groomer. He only gave me 1 name & it was this one. I was excited to have his referral. II looked them up online & composed an email, then sent it to the owner Sara as their website indicates. They listed a ph# & an email address & stated you could f/u via either format. My email was detailed as my dog has some health concerns. As the vet stated I should let her know up front. I was anxious to hear back. But no response! In the meantime, just in case, I emailed from 2 different email addresses. I emailed like 6x total. I couldn't imagine why a business would NOT respond?! I also sent a short email stating, if you're not interested please let me know so I can go elsewhere. Finally I sent one asking why Sara wasn't getting back to me. It didn't matter what emails or how many I sent, as she never responded! I emailed thinking she's a mobile groomer & busy grooming or driving to her next destination. I was trying to make it easy for her to get back to me at her leisure. Today I finally got angry, being left hanging SO long. I called the # & she answered. But her phone kept cutting out. She asked could call in an hour. I said, "yes please!" But she didn't call back in an hour, she called back 4 hours later! (Didn't say why!) I told her I had been trying to reach her via email & her response was, "ya, I don't really check my email, I'm really bad about that." I said, "well your website states we can reach out via email or by phone." She didn't reply to that. She said, "I have a msg on my VM stating we aren't taking new clients & tells them to text if they want to be added to a waiting list, if a spot opens." When I called, she answered her ph so I didn't get VM! Besides, her website nor Yelp acct indicates she's not taking new clients. Her business practices are very immature & rude! I wouldn't do business w/ someone who is a flake. At the end, she tried to refer me to her groomer friend & indicated, "I trust her!" I thought, good for you, but I don't trust YOU! Her opinion doesn't matter, I don't trust her! Her credibility is a joke! I told her I wouldn't have gone to SO much trouble to pursue her & being left hanging if my dog's vet hadn't made the recommendation! Ultimately I was left hanging for 2 1/2 weeks, & that is NOT okay! Nobody deserves that kind of experience! It was rude, thoughtless & not the way to conduct business! I will be certain to let my vet know as well! The last sentence she said to me was, "sorry I didn't get back to you" to which I said, "me too!" Then that was the end of my conversation with her! I am LIVID she wasted my time! To find out it was because she's "bad at checking her emails!" Is she 12? If you don't want emails, take the verbiage off your website! She had the audacity to ask if I wanted to be added on their wait list! I thought, SERIOUSLY?! You think I'm going to actually hire you after the way I was treated?! They force you to leave at least 1 star. But does she NOT deserve it! read more
