Beyond just the standard birthday cakes and cupcakes and cookies that you can find at almost any dog bakery, Top Dog Barkery has creative cookies that rotate themes (ones decorated to look like tacos or hot dogs, sports balls like basketballs or baseballs, or even other animals like piggies, cows, chickens, etc). They also have grooming service at reasonable prices which fares similar to local area pricing. Walked in looking for a birthday treat for our Frenchie after searching on yelp and coming across this business. I called them and was told you need a minimum of 4 days notice for a custom cake. But the friendly person over the phone mentioned there were plenty of items ready to go and I wouldn't go without something special for our puppy! Decided to come by and see what I could find the day of. Ended up purchasing a happy birthday bone cookie and a mini cupcake. It was a hit! Cute shop and bakery that also offers grooming. I was staying nearby and my guilt from leaving my furbaby while on a trip caused me to walk over here to bring treats back from my trip. I walked in and after letting the nice lady behind the counter know why I wanted to buy treats, she directed me to the leftmost display case with all the crunchy treats since it would be easier to travel with than their fresh-baked ones. I also mentioned the fresh baked treats looked tempting and she mentioned that they were human grade just without grains so it would have been perfectly fine for me to eat if I wanted. I ended up buying three of their giant cookies and they had a cooler with waters and (human) sodas which I needed after the walk. I even shared an (unsolicited) picture of my dog which she took the time to appreciate politely; I'm sure as someone who works in a dog bakery having proud furparents show off their furbabies isn't anything new. read more

But, if you order a few days in advance (instead of walk-in like 3 Dog) you can get a similar, personalized dog birthday "cake." Better than nothing, but not great. Other places in O.C. claiming to be "dog bakeries," just seem to have a bunch of prepackaged stuff in bags -- so this is much better than that. But, disappointing, as I understood from online comments/reviews that they had once been a 3 Dog franchisee, so expected more. read more

Our dog was turning 7, and we wanted something fresh for him to enjoy. There aren't that many options in the area for dogs, aside from the prepackaged items at pet supply stores. I drove 30 minutes out of my way for these treats and they were so pretty and very reasonably priced. This shop is located in downtown Huntington Beach, steps from the ocean. We found parking right away, because it was around six in the evening on a Monday. The woman at the counter was very helpful and friendly. We didn't have time to look at all of the other items inside, because we had to get home. Thank you for existing and providing fresh treats for celebrations. They even offer order ahead cakes, if you're having a larger celebration. We will definitely be back. read more

We stumbled upon this Barkery after a boozy brunch at The Pacjfic Hideaway across the street. They have the cutest product and wonderful staff! Only later we found out we were privileged enough to be helped by the Barkery's owners. They were so helpful and we were able to find a new harness for one of our dogs who is a chi-weenie and can be super hard to fit. read more

The treats and cakes are so cute! Stopped by for a cake for my dog and they had a few standard ones for people like me who got busy and didn't plan ahead. My dogs loved their cake and treats. The treats have different sizes, designs, and prices are pretty good. The cake I got was $30. My golden doodle took her sweet time eating it. My Saint Bernard on the other hand took a few licks and devoured the whole slice in two bites. The other half will be tomorrow's dessert. There's a few free 20 minute street parking in front and nearby the store. Plenty of paid stalls. Going to make sure I order 4 days in advance for my other dog's cake in the future. They have toys, clothings, retail items as well as a grooming service offered here as well. Or you can do self wash. Which is perfect since there's a doggy beach few blocks down. I visited the store on 12/15/2025 around 4:00 PM to purchase a birthday cake for my puppy. The store itself was very nice and offered a great selection of treats at reasonable prices, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the customer service detracted from the experience. The cashier--a young woman with long red hair and glasses--was unwelcoming, and communication was minimal, consisting mostly of brief responses like "okay" and "huh," which felt unprofessional. When I politely asked questions about the dog cookies and their ingredients--because I know my dog has certain intolerances--she appeared visibly irritated, huffing and puffing, and did not provide helpful answers beyond repeatedly saying, "it's just vanilla flavor." After completing my purchase, she tossed me a bag onto the counter and appeared to expect me to bag my own items without any explanation or courtesy. Because of this experience, I will not be returning . I prefer to support businesses where customer service feels welcoming and friendly. read more

I ordered a 7" round cake and it came out perfect ! my girls absolutely loved it. i ordered the plain frosting with bacon around the cake. it was flavored apple and oats I believe. It smelled so good even I was tempted to take a bite. Aesthically pleasing and most importantly tasty(MY DOGS KEPT STEALING FROM EACH OTHER BECAUSE IT WAS SO YUMMY). They bakery had the cake ready on time and gave proper instruction on how long to let it sit outside of the fridge to ensure it is nice and soft. The customer service is amazing as well. I will be coming back ! the 7" round cake was more then enough to feed my 2 dobermans, pitbull, pug and chihuahua . they all were able to get generous sized slices. read more

I was looking for a dog birthday cake and I found this location on Yelp. The pre-ordered through the website and I received a call just moments later about the order I placed. Everything went by really smoothly! Then it was pick up day and the bakery wasn't too hard to find. This shop had so many things! From toys, treats, rawhides, and so much more. I picked up the cake from the front desk and made my way back home. The cake was cute! I mainly had the cake in the freezer most of the time, and when it was time to present it to my dog, I let it just defrost and thaw on the table for awhile as instructed. First, my dog really liked it! Although, he likes anything haha but he knows when he's getting cake, he goes CRAZY for it. He was so happy! Although, feel moments later, he barfed it all out. I wasn't too sure whether he was just too excited that it made him throw up, or that he wasn't able to digest it well? We tried feeding him the cake again, the next morning and he vomited again after eating. His vomits were also white, yellow, and chunky. I was sad that I spent about $30 on a dog cake, and that he wasn't able to enjoy it. I did not want it to go to waste either, so I just scraped off the frosting, which was a really odd texture? It was the regular frosting option they had. It also felt slippery and the frosting didn't really feel right. I was also uncertain about the smell of the frosting either. So after, I just fed him the cake itself and he was fine. Unfortunately that he wasn't able to enjoy the frosting, but he was able to enjoy the cake. I won't be buying another dog birthday cake here again. read more

We stopped by twice out of curiosity and to see if we could get our dog some enrichment while on a trip. During our second visit the person at the register offered our dog beef liver treat which our dog really enjoyed. We ended up purchasing a bag and she spent the rest of our trip enjoying them whenever she was on her best behavior. They also offer a self dog washing service in a first come- first serve basis. Prices are fair considering the quality of the items. The only downfall is the parking. It's structure parking and they don't validate. Lovely place for your little angel! Stumbled into this place guided by my dog, Sandy. Everyone is so friendly, we bought Sandy a new pink leash. They have a variety of products, snacks, & treats. They have a dog wash station which is super convenient especially if your dog loves to run on the beach. Went back a few days later to get her a dogurt, which she loved! I give her a little bit a day since she does have a sensitive stomach. They were so kind I scheduled an appointment to get Sandy a wash. We got the gold package which included wash, ears, eyes, sanitary area clean up and scissor cut paw pads & gland extraction. Sandy is very sensitive w her paws and for the first time, she allowed Ashley the wonderful groomer to touch her paw pads and left them nice and clean! My girl Lady is getting old at 18 and she doesn't eat much anymore, but she immediately went for all the samples the ladies in the front offered her. I was thrilled! I bought tons. Staff were very helpful in directing to the items based on the needs of your dog. In the glass display they have a variety of soft and hard baked goods. I usually give positive reviews, but am concerned that the top dog website says they use no sugar, salt or preservatives. I asked the girl at the register for a small grain free treat as I could not get to the case because there were two other people and their dogs crowded into the small space that's filled by tables upon tables of stuff. When arriving home and pulling out the treat, a human sugar-coated, preservative filled jelly bean was atop the grain free treat when I unwrapped it. Yuck. The "frosting" was oily and goopy. No way was I giving that to my doSo I scraped it off with my hand. I had to use extremely hot water and dish soap to remove the residue after removing this off of the treat. In the end I decided not to give the rest to my dog, not knowing what else could be hidden in it. Updated to reply to owner: Most people would still be giving their dogs the whole treat with the sugar and preservative jelly bean on it. I feel it's misleading and a bad practice when it come to the health of the dogs. So I'm basically paying for something you expect me to have to remove. As far as the counter situation, one girl was helping the case customers and one was "helping" me at the register. Except I wasn't really being helped. I had to still go on a hunt to find the item myself. The whole experience was not enjoyable. read more
