This is in my opinion the best place for a self was or a grooming! Mike and his team are good people!! I have been to many but my preference is DS. The wash facility is designed do well for the dog and the dad. Waist height, warm water, multiple clips and they are so flexible if I want a nail trim after I wash him, etc. love these guys! This place was amazing and the owner(?), who was working was very friendly. They have grooming service in the back, but in the front, there are three do it yourself dog washing stations. We were here right after the corgi festival so it's really convenient location. Close to the dog beach. Plenty of parking so you don't have to worry about that. They provided with towels, shampoo, conditioner and few brush. The hair dryer was fairly strong to dry my corgi. Overall, this place is great, with great location right by the dog beach. Mike the owner is N amazing person. They are by far the best groomers I've ever had and I've looked for years as I had 2 Samoyeds which is a tough breed to groom. Not only are they the best (I've tried over 6 different other highly rated groomers in hb and nb before finding the doggie spa and Mike) but they are also the best bang for your buck! His pricing is amazing compared to others that charged twice as much and did half as well as he and his staff groomed my pups. Took our golden retriever and lab here after going to the dog beach for a self wash. Walked right into the tubs with no line. Very clean and had everything we needed. I took my Mochi there for her first bath. I went to do the self-wash, and asked to have the groomer do her ear cleaning and anal expression since she did the butt twirl a couple times at home. The guy at the front desk was very friendly, informative, and helpful. He was even kind enough to carry Mochi into the tub for me. The groomer was great about showing me how to properly clean her ears, and said he didn't have to express her glands because they were clear. They provide a protective apron, all-natural shampoo, cotton balls and ear cleaning solution, high power blow dryers, and absorbent towels. That being said they have bathtubs as basins for your pet, a tether cord to keep your BFF from jumping out, and offer stairs for your family member if you have a larger pet. We have been going to this place for years. Mike is so personable and really loves what he does. Our dogs can be a handful but they are great at handling them and they always leave happy. They have three self serve dog wash areas as well as full service. Parking is easy and always available. I've been going to The Doggie Spa for many years. The owner, Mike, and his staff never disappoint. Their groomers really listen to the grooming needs of the pets. My Golden Retriever comes out looking fresh & beautiful every time. And if there's no time for a groom, they have 3 (and another in an enclosed room in case your pup requires more privacy, lol) self wash tubs & provide all you need. Place is a complete rip off! $117 for a haircut & bath, they gave my dog back with poop still on his butt! When I saw my dog it looked like he didn't even get a cut at all. At most they did a poor bath job from what I can see. Very disappointing to see the effort they put in. We used to be regulars here but no longer will be. Owner Mike argued with me on the phone saying it was our fault for specifying the cut incorrectly. He proceed to say that we asked to not cut certain parts of our dog but still charged us the full amount... plus more on top. We have never paid $117 for haircut & bath.. pretty odd. He did offer to recut our dog but a very unfriendly phone call & wouldn't even apologize for the poor haircut & bath. You would think he would be a bit more apologetic with us being regulars. Bathing my dogs can be a mission because they're squirmy, shake off their suds unexpectedly and wet the area.. so glad the staff are nice and understanding! Appointments are made if you want a groomer to bathe your dog but self wash is walk in. Came on a Saturday with two sandy dogs after the beach and waited about 5 minutes for the staff member to clean the tubs. The self wash has everything you need: an apron for those splashes, towels big and small, cotton balls, qtips, ear cleaner, a brush, and blow dryer. If you want your dog to use the steps to walk into the tub, they have that as well! Water nozzle has multiple options and the water is perfectly warm. The staff member and gentleman(who I'm assuming is the owner or manager) were friendly and made our experience a wonderful one. $15 for the self wash no matter what size your dog is :) read more

What an amazing place! We came here with our puppy after corgi beach day for her much needed bath. We just got the basic package which comes with regular shampoo for $15. We had a Yelp checkin for $5 off so our total came out to only $10! If you wanted to use special shampoo like oatmeal or add flea medication, you can pay $5 more for each. For the bath itself, they provide aprons so you won't get water all over your clothes. There are also hooks to clip your dog against the wall so they can't jump out of the tub. They also have cotton balls for you to use so water doesn't get into your dog's ears and for you to clean their ears after (they provide the ear cleaning solution). They recommending brushing out your dog with a rubber brush (which they also provide) to get rid of all the loose hair before the bath. We were super grateful for that brush as our corgi was shedding like crazy. The best part about this place is that they provide nail clippers to trim your dog's nails after the bath and styptic powder in case you cut a little too deep!! We're so blown away by this place! We had such a great experience. I only wish there was one closer to where we live. We're definitely going to come to The Doggie Spa whenever we visit the dog beach in Huntington. read more
