I went in to the store on a Wednesday for a "complimentary facial." I wish I never stepped foot inside the store and I definitely wish I had never purchased any of the products. When I got home my face had become red and itchy where they had applied their highly touted eye cream. I called the store the next morning and told them I would like to return the unused and unopened items. They didn't want to refund my money. I went back to the store on Friday to return the items and they gave me the runaround directing me to call a number that leads to voicemail and still refused to give me a refund. This place is a scam, plain and simple. They will say whatever it takes to get you to buy something and refuse to give a refund. I've treated two previous areas and I'm currently working on my 3rd. I've always had consistent, thorough treatments, until last night. My most recent session with Lyssa was the complete opposite and honestly was a complete waste of money. I had gotten off work at 4 from north county and traffic was bad so I was about 10 minutes late for a 5:15 appointment. However, the clinic was not busy and I didn't see anyone after me so there was absolutely no reason for the session to be so rude and rushed the way it was. The first thing Lyssa said/asked upon us meeting for the first time was if I was there to treat my lower-face treatment. I told her I had never done that before and that maybe she was looking at another Jessica's chart since my name is so common it happens often. When Lyssa starts the laser, she asks if it was painful and I say yes, so she asks if I want to turn it down and I say no, just turn the air up higher. She said it was already at the max setting which it wasn't (I know exactly what that setting feels like after multiple past sessions), but she insisted it was without checking. The entire treatment took under TWO minutes, and she did not go over any area twice, which is the standard every other technician here has followed. That's a $70 per MINUTE session. She asked if I needed aloe and then left the room. Cold. Abrupt. Dismissive. Such a disgusting attitude. I walked out feeling like I she ripped me off and treated me like trash. I should not have to pay full price for a session that was rushed, incomplete, and performed with dismissive attitude and zero care. Instead, she gave me a horrible experience. In my way to the receptionist, I see Lyssa in the hall and she quickly turns into an EMPTY room then closes the door behind her. When I get to the receptionist, I ask for the managers info, which I only do in extreme cases. The receptionist asks me, did you not get the treatment? And I said, "Exactly... That's how short it was!" If the clinic wants to maintain its reputation, there needs to be consistency in training and expectations. What I experienced with Lyssa was unprofessional and below the standard of this location. Sometimes employees get an entitled and rude attitude when they've been somewhere for a while. The manager was supposed to call me back today and has not done so yet.

I understand results can vary as I've been getting Botox for over three years. In my experience, reputable med spas always make touch-ups an easy and professional process. At my follow-up appointment here however, the sole injector's attitude completely changed. When I mentioned three very minor concerns, the kind of simple adjustments any med spa would normally fix without issue, she dismissed me and said I was "obsessing." She even claimed that in her 18 years of practice, she had never had anyone "obsess" like me. Not only do I find that hard to believe, but there was no reason to insult me as a paying client. She reluctantly added a couple of units to the areas I pointed out, but I left feeling like she didn't genuinely care about the results or my satisfaction. To make matters worse, when I checked out, she told me, "This is the only touch-up I'm going to do. You can't come back again for more touch-ups." The way it was said felt like she was accusing me of trying to get extra Botox for free, which is not only insulting but unprofessional. For me, this was never about "free units", it was about getting the results I paid for. While I'm sure she may be skilled in other services, her judgmental attitude and dismissive treatment left an VERY BAD impression. A good med spa should treat every client with respect, regardless of how much money they think you'll spend... After this experience, I'll gladly return to Revive Med Spa in Mission Valley, even if it costs more. At Revive Med Spa in Mission Valley, I know I'll always be treated professionally, and they go the extra mile to ensure clients are happy. If you value professionalism, respect, and great customer service, I would not recommend this place. There are other so many other great places to get Botox where you can expect to be treated as we should. Nothing sets this place apart from the rest of the med spas in San Diego.

I'd give 6 stars of I could. Dr. Samara provided the most accommodating and generous customer service that I was not expecting. I found Dr. Samara while searching online for an injector that had availability in the next 24 hrs before I went on vacation. Dr. Samara made it work. He agreed to stay open later to fit me in and touch up the areas I needed. I also consulted with him about a new problem area that I wanted reduced and he explained in depth his suggestions and priced them out in full while allowing me to decide what work I wanted done that would fit my budget. I think he was the most transparent genuine sales man Ive ever done business with. We chose to reach my desired look with Dysaport and filler. I let him know i wanted to look really natural, and he did just that. The next day he checked up with me to be sure, and when I let him know I had questions about one side of my lips he invited in at my earliest convenience that day. When I saw him again he made an adjustment with no additional charge and invited me to return for another follow up after I returned from vacation. Initially I had no plan to change injector permanently but I have to now. Dr. Samara's sweet and genuine customer service and careful work was too nice of an experience. I came here a couple months ago to treat scars from SLE/DM, and while I've been to a lot of great places- in Korea and SD- I have never had such an amazing, quality experience as I've had with Dr. Samara. From the moment I walked in, he was kind, professional, attentive, and made me feel the most comfortable I've ever felt in an unfamiliar setting. He sat down with me beforehand and I was so impressed how much he knew about my medications and diseases (even though he is a physician, a lot of my own doctors have never heard of them because they're not very common), and he offered the best approach for long-term care. Everything was private as well as personable, and he spent a lot of time and care that relaxed me and made me feel confident in the visit. I was involved in the whole process; I knew he would listen to my concerns before, during, AND after. His service went above and beyond, and I could tell he really cares about providing a quality experience and making his patients feel good. I left relaxed and happy for the rest of the day because of my experience. Months later I'm still happy with the results, and looking forward to scheduling my next appointment. No matter how far I live in the future I will absolutely be coming back to Dr. Samara! read more

Mohammed came highly recommended from my hair stylist. Sunday was my first visit to see him and I am beyond thrilled with my results!! He really took his time with initial consultation to understand what I wanted to accomplish and my concerns after I recently had a bad experience with Revive. We agreed on Botox and fillers on problem areas. I have never been so happy with results from anywhere I have been previously. He really took him time when injecting and made sure everything looked perfect before I left. Typically with Revive it's in and out before you even know what is happening. I love that he is an MD with a true understanding of anatomy and how the body reacts to various procedures. However, what I loved the most was his patience, warm demeanor, and funny personality. Dr Samara has changed my life, before this procedure my self esteem was very low. As we age we begin to notice changes and it can affect your mental health. I had gastric surgery and loss over 100 hundred pounds so my face really aged quickly. I didn't know what to do and became sever depressed. I began researching my options. But before the procedure he did a thorough review of all the medications I use and even researched one of them to ensure that the procedure would be safe to receive and not have any negative side affects. I wanted to cancel and reschedule this facial. Daughter convinced me to go, and so I did. A lot has changed since my last facial with SDEA. The changes are for the better. SDEA has grown and expanded their services (do please check their website), and improved/updated its space(s). I had serious doubts about the new aesthetician, Nevie (Knee-vee), simply because I'm unfamiliar with her, and I still don't like facials. Calm, soft spoken and professional, I was cautiously optimistic as she escorted me to the treatment area; below are my findings: Pros: 1. If it doesn't smell/look clean and organized - RUN! This place?! CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN private, single room that smells nice, with soothing music softly playing in the background. The bed covers are neatly turned back, a 1 size fits all terry wrap is provided for your use, and the pillow has a headband laid out to keep contain the client's hair. Hooks behind the door are conveniently provided for your use, no need to put belongings on the floor, or folded on a chair. I placed my footwear beneath the bed to prevent tripping. Nevie's tray holding the products to be used is neat and organized. Those details matter and are what I look for. The cabinet holding the linens gave me serious retail vibes-- very orderly and organized, the way they're folded screams "PROFESSIONAL"! I'd have serious doubts if the bed was sloppily made, linens /cloths, etc. folded differently, half-a$$€d, and or haphazardly presented; this is a very clean, very organized, effective and efficiently inviting space. 2. After inquiring re: my pressure and area preferences (for the massages) and explaining the disrobing process, Nevie gave me time & privacy to prepare and climb under the covers. The fancy bed electronically raises your knees -- no need for a pillow beneath to relieve back pain. The linens are soft, and the room temperature is perfect: not too hot/cold. 3. Dim lighting, relaxing, soft music, muted sounds, NO loud noises/conversations can be heard. Nevie softly explained everything she was going to do, so I simply closed my eyes. I wasn't surprised/startled, and best of all, no inane, frivolous conversation. I was able to relax and just be in the moment. Her soft voice and light touch lulled me into a twilight state of sleep. Awake enough to hear/respond when needed, Nevie had me "snoring lightly"; although I didn't claim any skin sensitivities prior to the start of my session, unfortunately, the pumpkin product was VERY spicy on my skin, and Nevie immediately and thoroughly removed it, cleansed and replaced it with an extremely soothing cucumber product. The products (save for the pumpkin) felt so good on my skin. The Gua shua facial using tingly, cool facial massaging tools, the scalp and hand/forearm massages were exactly what I needed. The warm hand mitts/treatment were a delightful surprise. Even now as I review this, I'm still so very relaxed, and will definitely sleep well tonight. Poor hubby is going to have to use ear plugs, because I know I'll be sawing logs tonight. 4. Complimentary Fiji water after my facial to stay hydrated?! Why, yes please and - thank you! Cons: 1. Nevie is so good, the 1hr session flew by in a flash. 2. After my session, I was so relaxed, I could barely stand much less have a coherent thought. 3. No place for the client to nap; I had to go home to do that. Conclusion: For someone who really doesn't like facials, I had an outstandingly amazing experience that far exceeded my previously positive and enjoyable experience. I hope Nevie stays with SDEA for a long while to come, because she is just the bees' knees and the cat's meow. I am so thankful for my birthday facial, and to Nevie for this much needed pampering.

STAY AWAY from this center because of the office manager, Amber…read more I love CoastMed and found the staff to be so helpful in North County, in addition to this Clairemont location *prior* to Amber arriving. Long story short, I called about the MIC shots they offer and was informed by the person on the phone of the package price. When I arrived, it was Amber (the office manager) sitting at the desk. She was on the phone and I waited patiently for her to finish the call. She finished the call and didn't look up at me once. She continued working and ignoring me. I waited another full minute before then asking for her assistance. Already she had demonstrated her lack of care for customers and service. When I queried about the MIC shots and the package pricing, she informed me it was a different/higher pricing. I explained to her that I was quoted differently/less. She rolled her eyes, scoffed and said that it was incorrect, and I had to pay the higher price she informed me off. I replied stating to her that while I was happy to pay the different rate, I would appreciate the office staff being informed/trained better on prices so they can provide accurate quotes. From here, things escalated, because Amber continued to be unapologetic and started to be condescending. I repeated to her many times that I was not upset about the price, AND, willing to pay full price - however it mattered to me principally, that staff were trained in providing accurate price quotes. Her condescension continued. I explained that, with me purchasing a package, paid at full price, I did not want her to treat me as a practitioner for the MIC shots. How could anyone be expected to feel comfortable pulling down their pants for glute shots and stepping on the scale and discussing weight issues with Amber, with her awful manner. Her reply word-for-word when I stated that I only wanted to see other employees at the office location for the MIC shots: "Well good luck with that, I'M the office manager". I could go on, but in a nutshell - while I love CoastMed, I think that people should be WARNED of staying away from this location purely because of Amber. I visited Clairemont CoastMed often the year prior, (Amber was not part of the team at this time), and would happily visit in the future once she is gone/fired (because how could anyone with her lack of social skill last in a customer service oriented job). I'm also certain that if she's the one to respond on Yelp to my review, she'll make up lies about me and insist I was arguing about price. Not true. I brought up price once, said I would be happy to pay full price, but would appreciate a commitment that staff would be trained better in quoting accurate prices. The issue was *not* over price, but rather, over Amber's lack of professional attitude (to say the least), and her insulting, condescending tone. She also deferred any responsibility "well I certainly wasn't the one to quote you that price, I would remember". This is coming from the Office Manager, people. I'd expect such a response from a 12 year old. I feel sorry for anyone who has to ever interact with her, and more importantly, I feel sorry for all the staff members she's in charge of, that no doubt know how awful she is. While she was on her high horse and (pathetic) power trip, one of the junior staff members caught my eye and mouthed 'sorry'. Clearly, anyone who works with Amber, knows full well of her blatant disregard for common courtesy. Here's hoping she's gone from the Clairemont location soon, so it can return back to what it used to be - professional, welcoming, and friendly. (Also, FYI, if you look at my prior Yelp reviews, I've left nothing negative for any businesses. I love to see businesses excel and support them. I also tried to reach out to the owner of CoastMed to pass on this feedback privately, however had no followup. As such, I felt that it was necessary to share and WARN others about avoiding this location now, due to Amber).
