So I didn't pass but that's not why I'm giving them a single star. The technician lacked in customer service, said I failed a visual inspection with a detached hose. Lucky for me my mechanic was literally around the corner and connected the tube. Once I came back he made me wait behind two others, rather than just looking under my hood, then helped a third guy. Went to get a smog check so I can sell my car. Had it smog over a year ago and didnt change anything on the car. It already had a aftermarket exhaust in it when I got it from the dealer. Well the tech that looked at my engine said you "made changes" and he can't do the smog test. I explained that I never touched the car and it passed before and I bought it from a dealership as is. He made me look stupid like I was trying to fool him. So I went to the dealership and told them what happen. They checked the car and it had nothing on the car that would not pass a smog. They told me that they had issues with this place in the past and told me to go somewhere else. So went to another smog test location and it passed. I asked the dealership to send me a email on the exhaust they had installed: "No sir, none of your emissions or any EMI are changed. Only the note on the exhaust and the way the exhaust flows. Our kit installs after all of the vehicles measurements devices." So if you have an legal aftermarket exhausts on your car don't go here. read more

*UPDATE: This is no longer the quick and convenient smog check station that I reviewed a couple of years ago. I drove up today and was told it would be a 30 minute wait, and since there was no where to park, that if I came back within those 30 minutes, I would be seen immediately. I came back within 30 minutes and was told it would be at least a 25 minute wait. Had I not been promised that would be seen immediately if I came back within a certain time, and, more importantly, if there was a place for me to park while I waited, it wouldn't be such an issue. It's impossible to expect a customer to wait, if there is no where for them to park their car. I've decided to take my car to a place where there is parking if I have to wait, and I won't be promised something that isn't true. Fast and friendly service. I was in and out within 15 min. Since they aren't a repair shop, they don't try to tell you that your car didn't pass and needs repairs. I was easily able to get my smog check done during my lunch break. So happy to have found this convenient place. read more

The smog certificate is sent electronically to the DMV and all I have to do is pay my registration fees to the DMV. Easy peasy, and very much appreciated with my busy schedule. Unprofessional, overpriced, and simply liars. Avoid at all cost! When my car did not initially pass the smog test, they tell you that "they will test for free until you pass." I brought my car back and they simply said "we don't do that anymore." Professional scammers, PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! Even in the times of COVID, California still wants you to drive your car to get smogged (a bit counterintuitive to reduce emissions). I drove up without an appointment and was able to be seen immediately. The guy that worked there (I think he was the manager )was so nice and professional. it was nice to sit and watch my car get smog checked at the same time. It only took about 10-15 minutes to get my car smog checked. A helpful hint is that there are three smog places in the same plaza so make sure you double check what the name of the place is. This SCV smog place is facing the post office. How I got into. It was driving left right before the car wash and then driving all the way around the building passing, another smog check business on the way. It is all the way behind the building facing west. The owner was also so very nice because I almost walked out without paying on accident because I had just worked a very long shift at the hospital overnight and I was very tired. He was so nice to kindly ask for payment in such a gracious manner. I will definitely tell everyone I know about the smog place. read more

Don't bother coming here if you have an older diesel or anything exotic or out of the ordinary in terms of a vehicle. I've owned Turbo Diesel Hummer H1s for near 19 years and never had issues having them smogged from small Mom and Pop independent shops to chains to dealerships. I moved out to the SCV in the past year and these guys advertised diesel smogging so I figured they were used to doing everything from pickups to RV's, Vans, trucks, etc. Nope. Soon as I pulled up the tech there was like "I never seen one of these before" and started making excuses. "The weight rating is too high and wouldn't need a smog" Even though the Truck was 10,800 GVW and was below the 14,000 lb threshold, DESPITE me standing there with a DMV smog notice in hand. Then he said he had to inspect all the wiring harnesses and he grabbed a bunch as an example. The ones he grabbed were aftermarket light wiring and a harness for the tire inflation system. Nothing to do with emissions? Finally, he said there was a missing sticker. I checked again, and it was in 2 spots, on the lid of the can [epa 1998] and one for federal on the B pillar door jam? Ok. So whatever. I went to a repair shop in Newhall [I called a GMC Dealership in Tustin who works on H1 for smog recommendations] who smogged me with no problems and a pass within 15 minutes over on Lyons Avenue. Wierd. It's their right to refuse business but I was pretty put off by this. 2 stars because on the positive, they didn't charge me for anything, some shops would have done some sort of BS pre-inspection charge or some other nonsense. read more
