Excellent value! I had my dryer vent cleaned. Scheduling was very easy through yelp, they got back to me quickly when I needed to change times. Andrew & Nick were awesome! They were able to show up early and called me in advance to let me know. They were polite and clean. After completing the work, they tested the dryer, including attempting to check it was venting properly (my vent is on the roof so they couldn't do that step). DO NOT HIRE!!! SD Air Quality was hired for routine dryer duct cleaning. Several weeks later moisture started accumulating/bubbling on the laundry room ceiling. A plumber was hired to investigate the source and discovered a disconnected portion of the duct, which lead to condensation building up, until it leaked through the ceiling drywall. Part of the service the technician *performed* was inspecting the dryer duct for proper connection. This service is also spelled out on the invoice provided from SD Air Quality. When I reported the issue to SD Air Quality and requested reimbursement for the repairs, they declined, and have since refused to respond to any emails or phone calls. Did not do a good job. After 'cleaning' our dryer air vent, our dryer still stated 90% blockage. At the time we thought it was our dryer but dryer technician came and checked, he said it's our dryer vent and nothing wrong with our dryer! Three months from getting our dryer 'cleaned', I contacted another company, Dave Mihaly Air Care because SD Air Quality didn't respond to my e-mail. Anyway, I'm glad I went with another company instead of giving them a second chance and would have paid for the service as long as they do the job right. Dave was so meticulous and very thorough with cleaning everything and he has a heavy duty vacuum that sucks up everything! Our 30 year old AC went out during the heat wave. Another company came out and told us the issue wasn't fixable and that we need a completely new unit. Deciding do get a second opinion we contacted SD Air Quality. We communicated with Jonathan who responded to our inquiry very quickly! I first heard about this company from a KGB Deal. The deal didn't include what I needed so I called the company directly to see if they offered other services and I spoke to one of the owners, Jonathon. Jonathon asked me what I needed done and offered me a very reasonable rate for carpet cleaning of 3 rooms, a hallway and stairs for the following weekend! I told him I was also interested in dryer vent and air duct cleaning and we agreed that he would give me pricing once he saws what was involved. When Jonathon came a few days later it was immediately obvious he knew what he was doing. He showed me some hazards in my current dryer vent setup (the former property owner has a plastic pipe and duct tape instead of steel and aluminum tape), made some recommendations, and gave me options. I never felt like he was up selling me because everything he showed me he offered a reasonable price to do or told me how to do it myself (what to buy from Home Depot, approximate cost, etc). I decided to replace my entire dryer vent which required materials he didn't have handy and he offered to come back to do the work at the only time I was available, 7pm the next night. In the end, because of his professionalism and knowledge, I decided to have my air ducts and furnace cleaned as well. I had been wanting to do this for a while but didn't do it last time I got an estimate which seemed like a straight upsell pitch. Being Asian, this was a huge plus (if you know what I mean lol). They were hella nice throughout the entire process and answered all my questions. They showed up early, protected our floors, and were careful not to leave the doors open (we have cats). These guys were great! They were friendly, professional, careful not to damage anything and careful to clean up after they were done with each duct. Junior and Oded really went out of their way to clean some ducts that were extremely tough to access. Oded climbed around a tight spot in my ridiculously small laundry closet to get to my dryer vent. He was even thoughtful enough to remove his belt so his belt buckle wouldn't scratch my dryer. SD Air Quality has a duct cleaning contraption that I've never seen before. It's a soft tubular octopus-like device that gently flops around in flexible ducts and blows the dust loose without damaging the ducts. Ingenious! While cleaning a floor vent, Junior used his lightning fast reflexes and his high powered vacuum to suck up a live mouse that was running in high gear. He took our uninvited house guest to an open space across the street for a humane transport. There was no extra charge for the mouse relocation service. :) I strongly recommend SD Air Quality! Best service ever. I moved into a condo downtown about a year ago and noticed the dryer was having issues drying. I contacted a few companies and was either quoted a high price tag or the company didn't do condos downtown or would not service a stackable unit. SD Air Quality responded very quick, offered open availability and was a really great price. They had no concerns with my mid-rise unit downtown. They explained step by step their process and set me up within two days. Service got even better when they arrived. The team checked out my unit and proceeded to start the cleaning. There was a hiccup with the weird placement of my outside vent (building issue not company issue) but they just worked to find a solution and got the job done. The best part was they explained each step and gave me some tips moving forward. And the amount of dust and dirt they took out was ridiculous! They vacuumed up everything, including the floor around the dryer and my balcony where the outside vent was. 100% recommend them. Honest, dependable and just really great service. I paid for duct cleaning and they left me with dirty ducts. After the crew left i went to open and inspected the ducts. It appears the whip was pushed through but didnt do anything. I paid for a furnace cleaning and its still dirty. You can see it in the pics i took. Ive been calling for over 10 days now and i just get the run around from Belinda. No manager or person in charge to solve the problem. Now I gota dispute the charge with my credit card company. Sad and shame on them. Dont use this company, rippoff. read more

FYI: calling me during my workday to confront me about my review (and then posting a diatribe accusing me of "trying to get discounted or free services" is not going to get you *MORE* stars. It also isn't going to get you fewer stars, because my vents are very clean. 1. I scheduled an HVAC inspection and duct cleaning. I paid for a duct cleaning, as that was all that was available that day. 2. I didn't ask any questions except to clarify the work order that had been provided to the techs who came out, which read "HVAC inspection and vent cleaning." The techs were perfectly courteous, despite not waiting to verify if I was home before driving over. 3. I declined the furnace cleaning because I do not use my furnace. Didn't realize that made me a bad person. 4. I genuinely wish you continued success in your business. This review was meant to warn those who have unique schedules that yours is not the organization to try to schedule outside of traditional work hours. 5. I don't need/want discounted/free services. I understand everyone has a job to do, and everyone needs to get paid to survive. What I want/need/expect is for a company to respond in a professional manner after what seems to be an honest mistake by their scheduling rep, instead of your very long, very rude response. read more

We never really had a Winter this year, so it is sort of hard to tell when it is time to do Spring Cleaning. I decided to go ahead and bust a move in that direction and finally do the air ducts at the Poway abode. It has been almost 7 years since we had them done last and I saw the filth blowing in the sunlight the other day. Yelp gave me some good indications, there are a lot of quality companies to choose from luckily. I called 3, and the first 2 were booked out a week in advance. SD Air Quality was able to come next day, and could have done same day duct cleaning if my schedule would have allowed. The girl on the phone was sweet and efficient. Guys who came to my house were Jonathan and Gabriel and they were quiet, moved quick, kept their head down working. Jonathan showed me camera images of what I have been "saving up" in my ducts. If I had known, I would have called them in years ago. I guess every other year is the rule. Here is a Spring cleaning idea: read their website and see if they can tell you something I never knew: we live in a mold zone here in San Diego. Ahhhh! This would explain why the allergies and all the suffering I have had since moving here from L.A. of all places... You would think that running in smog would toughen one's nose and lungs to the point where a little mold or dander would be cake, but not so much. Afrin is my slumber-partner more than any man. Jen is a really cool receptionist and Jonathan, while his accent makes him pretty difficult to comprehend, is really very straightforward and helpful. I give them the good customer service endorsement of an otherwise bitchy gal. And the main point is that after the duct cleaning work was done in my home, with extra care taken by me to thoroughly wash dustmites in carpets and bedding, that night I had my first Afrin-free sleep in a very long time. I didn't believe that duct cleaning was a real thing until a few people convinced me. SDAQ does it fast and for a good price per vent. read more

Had a basic air duct cleaning done and I felt it was pricey. There are certain things that I thought came with the service such as the air duct video analysis to see how dirty the ducts are. Sort of like a before/after comparison. I found out that was an additional cost along with the sanitation process afterwards. Despite the price, we were due for a cleaning. The crew arrived in the advertised time and worked pretty efficiently. The equipment they used looked like professional quality. They almost forgot to clean 1 vent. I had to remind them. They vacuumed the debris that fell to the ground from the ducts afterwards, but there were still some areas which we had to clean. I appreciated how they didn't push too hard to upsell services/items to me. I'm just glad air ducts don't have to be cleaned often. For our next time, we'll probably shop around some more. read more
