Booked the dryer exhaust cleaning as suggested by our home inspector and decided on GR Air Duct Cleaning after comparing reviews of different companies across different platforms. He texted me when an earlier spot opened. Although highly desired, there was no electricity in the apartment at that time, so we had to stick to the original appointment, and he arrived right on time. We wanted to add air duct cleaning on the day of the appointment, and he managed to fit it into the schedule for us. The air duct cleaning was a great decision. Pulled out construction material from 40 years ago. The air ducts were obviously never cleaned since then. He took time to vacuum all six air ducts in the place, along with the dryer exhaust. He also helped to clean the exhaust fan covers, which was super nice of him. The place had a lingering scent from previous residents' use of vaporizers that stayed even with days of venting, and was mostly gone after the cleaning. Besides that, he was also a nice guy. Turns out Garret is a friendly, professional young man who has started his own small business which he runs with his wife. Availability was excellent; his manner was one of polite enthusiasm, yet totally professional. Price very fair. Now here's the thing: we asked him to check our AC ducts, and he pronounced them clean and not needing cleaning. Cost him money in the short run, but I hope leads to a thriving business in the long run because of his--in his words--"brutal honesty" about the shady business of cleaning HVAC ducts. Dryer vents now, that's a different story. Get it checked, get it cleaned every couple of years. Lint fires in dirty dryer vent ducts are a real thing, we've experienced it ourselves. Garet is great. GR is his own business. He's been conducting air duct cleaning for nearly 10 years, so he's experienced and knows what he's doing. He's honest and won't do anything that is not needed. Garet is on our preferred vendor list, so I called him because our dryer took hours to dry clothes. Our other ducts hadn't been cleaned in 8 years, so I asked him to do the dryer and the other ducts. He looked; the only ducts that needed to be cleaned were the dryer and both bathrooms. I had been giving Garrett a call for multiple years now to clean the air ducts and dryer vent at the condo. Each time I called him, he was able to get me in the books quickly, and he arrived on time and was professional each time. He is very thorough and detailed oriented when he took apart and cleaned each vent and duct (including the bathroom vent). I have been able to schedule with him on the weekends which worked out with my schedule. The first year I called him out, I asked to see how dirty the vents and ducts were (I had a hunch that the previous people had not cleaned the vents), and he popped open the vacuum to let me take a peek (which confirmed my hunch). While he worked, he explained that there were different methods of cleaning the ducts and the way he used was with a brush vacuum system, so the brush would manually dislodge the dust while the vacuum removed the dislodged dust. Each time he finished cleaning the ducts, I could feel and smell the difference (having a dog means more dust).
