That's really all I can say about San Diego Medical Services without frothing at the mouth. My bike accident was in February '13. When I received the bill a month after service in March '13 - nearly $2000 for about a half mile - I called them and provided all my insurance info - Anthem Blue Cross. In July of '13, I received a notification from Blue Shield that my claim was not being covered because I wasn't a member at the time. Uh, no shit. I immediately called SDMS - in July '13 - to notify them that the insurance info had been sent to the wrong provider. They told me "No, we sent it to the correct insurer, Blue Shield." After several attempts to explain that I was in fact covered by Anthem Blue Cross, this is literally the response I got: "Oh, we DEFINITELY sent the bill to Blue Shield AND Anthem Blue Cross." Wow. I immediately called Anthem Blue Cross, who confirmed that no bill had been submitted. The rep there called SDMS and learned that, in addition to the provider being listed incorrectly, all of my membership info was mistyped. He assured me he'd fix it. By the end of July '13, I thought things were getting resolved. In December '13, I received a collections notice from SDMS. My bill still hadn't been paid, I was going to be referred to a collection agency, etc. Yet no claim had been processed by Anthem Blue Cross. They insisted that they had still not received a bill. I called SDMS and had them read me all the details in their records. Sure enough, the mistyped information from July '13 had never been fixed - they were repeatedly sending the bill with entirely inaccurate information, all the while threatening me. Further, SDMS insisted that, while they would suspend collections activity, they couldn't send me confirmation in writing or tell me for how long. Because at this point I had no reason to trust them, I called back a week later. My insurance information was still listed incorrectly. I spoke to a manager, who assured me it would be changed. I asked him to send me confirmation in writing; he insisted that couldn't be done. Finally, in January '14, an insurance rep asked me to just send the copy of my collections notice to her so that she could do all the processing on their end. It's obviously my fault for not thinking of that sooner, but I also wish it hadn't taken 11 months for the insurance agents to suggest it when clearly SDMS wasn't going to get their shit together. As of February '14, one calendar year and ten days after my accident, the claim has been processed. In that span, SDMS: - inaccurately recorded my insurance information - billed the wrong insurance provider and lied about it - billed the correct insurance provider but with incorrect information such that the claim couldn't be processed - thrice lied to me about updating my insurance information - threatened to send my account into collections - refused to send me written confirmation about changes to my account or the suspension of collections activity SDMS is an absolutely disgusting, parasitic company that preys on people in their weakest and most desperate moments. I know that a bad Yelp review won't do anything to change that, but I really felt the need to put this out into the universe.

I am pretty spoiled to have dived some waters where visibility is great so it was a bit…read moredisappointing to snorkel here this morning. I came here at 6:45am and was able to find parking literally right at the cove, so come early, its worth it. Lots of wildlife hanging out there. I saw a bunch of sea lions sleeping, tons of cormorants and lots of badass pelicans flying and scooping down for food. By 7am, I was in the water and there were already plenty of people here. I tried out my wetsuit with all my gear and everything worked well. I wasn't too hot in my 4/3 wetsuits. Visibility was crap today and couldn't see much. I'll have to come back again to see if visibility improves. I got out in 30 minutes, no point wasting time with cloudiness. I used the local showers to get the sand and saltwater off myself and gear. Public bathrooms also available. After getting out, I walked around a bit and it was a lovely day. Beautiful area, no wonder everyone likes coming here. I'll be back!

The negative thing is the shower... This is the worst shower in the entire universe. This pathetic excuse for a shower was so bad that I started reconsidering life. The shower water, straight from the ocean, was freezing even at its max. There was no pressure. It was like 9 consecutive little droplets every 3 seconds and a little bit of Seal semen in the mix, because there is no way that shit was filtered. At first, when I turned on the shower, I didn't notice that the shower head was in the middle of the shower and on the ceiling, so the tiny droplets ricocheted onto my underwear. The problem with this was that this was, like, my last pair, so I had to sleep commando in the same bed as my brother. If you're going to have such a big shower, shouldn't it be angled and have pressure? I swear, the water radius was 20% of the shower, and the other 80% was just there for you to roam around. Don't even get me started on how it felt being under that 20%. It kind of felt like I was sleeping cutely on a beach chair, and some really suspicious obese man approaches me, with his belly hanging right over me. The obese man proceeds to start slowly crying as his wet belly starts dripping on me, and his eye water starts dripping on me too, as he begs for liposuction money. Some dude came over and "cleaned" our shower, and he essentially poked it with a stick and left the room all confident and shit. One of those seals 100 feet away from the hotel would have done a better job than this dude. It's not even just the shower. THE WHOLE BATHROOM SUCKS. 1. Why is the hand soap also body wash? (Weird.) 2. The toilet is in a very uncomfortable spot. 3. The music button on the mirror is unnecessary, and when you click it, it makes a very annoying noise. 4. The body lotion is closer to the toilet than the sink, which symbolizes the encouragement of masturbation. The sink water at its coldest is warmer than the shower at its max. I will admit that the sink does have a little less Seal semen than the shower, though. In conclusion, I will never go to San Diego ever again. If I ever do go to San Diego again, it's probably to harass the seals for what they and La Jolla did to me. Also, this entire area is anti-Dr. Pepper. I tried 6 times at 6 different restaurants, and all the waiters offered me flat Coca-Cola since they thought that was a proper substitute.

They're also likely violating §86.27, which limits public street parking to 72 hours. Their behavior is selfish and inconsiderate. Residents of Iowa Street--many of whom live in apartments with no private parking--are forced to walk several blocks late at night while these men leave their company vans along the curb like it's their personal lot. It's not only illegal, it's dangerous. I strongly encourage every impacted resident to file a report with San Diego Parking Enforcement through the "Get It Done" app or by calling (619) 531-2000. You can cite these violations and attach photos of their vans. This is not a one-time issue. It's daily, ongoing, and reflects poorly on any business that claims to serve the public. If you care about safe, accessible neighborhoods, speak up. These men clearly won't do the right thing on their own.

It was also very good, but we just keep coming back to the SG hot melt! Key things to know! - Limited parking! There is only street parking and a 15 min only spot directly in front of the shop. So it may be difficult to park on the weekends. - They are not open on Sundays or Mondays. - If you're looking for a sandwich their kitchen doesn't make sandwiches until after 11 am, the staff making the sandwiches are not there yet and they may run out of ingredients to make certain sandwiches. So don't expect to try to get one near closing time at 5 pm. A complete bummer since we tried a couple times and failed to pick up a sandwich. Overall, a really walkable area! Walking in, it's clear that their sandwiches are a crowd favorite from all the awards on the walls. Dubbed as "La Jolla's Most Popular," I went with their California Turkey & Cheese. It features a long list of things: California Swiss + SoCal Turkey + Granny Smith Apple + Cucumber + Micro & Mixed Greens + Local Mustard + Smoked Padron Jam + Mayo. I absolutely adore when sandwiches have a splash of fruit or jam in them. It's so underrated! I brought it to the water to enjoy and it made for the perfect beach sandwich.
