Full points for keeping us in the loop via email about the weather and the trip being postponed. Yesterday, we had glorious weather and the trip was terrific. I brought a party of four, we were well treated, ample parking, lots to do before/after the cruise. Atlantic Highlands is a charming place. The cruise was well narrated (who knew, love ya baby, that Telly Savalas had a house on the Navesink?) and being able to get a Bombay Sapphire gin and tonic for the g/f was a huge plus! He is also very safety conscious and takes great pride in making sure all passengers are safe. The locations for the tours are all lovely, with the sunset cruises being among my favorites. His fall foliage cruises feature delicious warm apple cider. Take a ride with Classic Boat Rides--it will be a wonderful memory you won't soon forget!!!

Regardless of catching keepers, we were reeling them in all day long. we went from 7:30am to 2:30pm and between the 4 of us we hooked about 40 fish. Although we only had one keeper, it may have to do with the fact that the limit was raised to 18". These guys stick to the rules and don't let anyone keep shorts. Overall fantastic crew and boat, great trip! Will be going again very soon!

As we arrive at the shore, the captain, Captain Tom, spotted us from afar and gave us a very welcoming greeting. He took pictures for us in front of the ship and tells us everything we need to know about the trip. The crew was amazing and very attentive. The weather was a little chilly today so Patrick, the superstar crew member, very kindly offered his spare hoodies to my friends who are freezing. We didn't catch any strip bass today, but we did manage to catch many blue fish. They are huge and really quite delicious. Ah yes! So once you have a fish on hook, the crew will help you pull it out of the water, and at the end fillet them for you. The fishing experience was really easy and relaxing because the crew is there to help with untangling the strings or helping us putting on baits. The bathroom was extremely clean and the indoor space is dry and comfortable. I like the fact that they have a separate restroom for the ladies, it is very considerate. This is my 3rd time fishing with the Atlantic Star and I'll definitely come back with more friends. Tips: - don't forget to tip the crew members well when you exit the ship, they worked really hard! - they have everything you need on board, just walk in and be prepared to catch some fish! - good for family with kids too

We had a great time and would recommend! As per the other review, there is a rung ladder to climb to get onto the boat that may be a bit tricky for the elderly. Not dangerous as the mate and captain are right there but certainly not easy if you have trouble handling your own body weight.

Love the fact that this beach is so quiet, and, relatively clean!…read more I've come to this beach on multiple occasions now, once for a Friday company volunteer clean-up event and on a Saturday just with my family. On the 1st occasion that I came here, I was pleasantly surprised at how clean the beach actually was as we didn't have to do much work to spruce it up. Garbage is rarely found on the beach, BUT there are a lot of broken shells and little rocks laying around. It was very quiet when I arrived at 9 AM for my volunteer event, but activity did begin to immediately pick up around 10:30 - 11:00 AM as families began rolling in to the parking lot. The beach isn't huge and neither is the parking lot, but on the summer Saturday that my family and I visited, it didn't feel all that crowded still. No lifeguards are on duty here and I don't think they ever are here since it's relatively small compared to more popular beaches. The one downside of the beach is that there isn't a whole lot around either as the beach is surrounded by a residential neighborhood and stores and restaurants are far off. BUT, the best thing about this beach is that it's FREE and no fee is required to enter!!
