Regardless of catching keepers, we were reeling them in all day long. we went from 7:30am to 2:30pm and between the 4 of us we hooked about 40 fish. Although we only had one keeper, it may have to do with the fact that the limit was raised to 18". These guys stick to the rules and don't let anyone keep shorts. Overall fantastic crew and boat, great trip! Will be going again very soon!

We were given bait by Ian and were set up to succeed. Whenever we caught a fish, Ian or Frank would come right over and help us unhook and either keep it or throw it back(small or shark). If we broke line or lost a weight or hook, either man would quickly get us ready again with a new setup. Whatever fish we were able to keep, Frank filleted for us right on the boat. Patience is a virtue, and this crew definitely had it last Saturday. Let me first start off by saying that Captain Dom and his crew are totally chill, laid back, and just plain awesome! These are men and women that know the sea, and actually give you helpful tips on how to properly fish if this is your first voyage; really family friendly. Make sure you pack the following: 1) a towel to sit on 2) antibacterial 3) toilet paper (trust me) 4) pack snacks or sandwiches 5) CASH 6) BYOB!!!!! That's right!! They do offer drinks on board for a small cash fee, but you can totally fill your cooler up with anything your heart desires! SWEET! Usually, you are fishing for fluke, and fluke alone - but on our trip, people caught porgies, blue fish, sea bass and fluke! Loved the variety! Captain Dom took about well over an hour before we dropped anchor at our first fishing attempt. The further the day went, the further out we went, and the more fish were caught! What was the totals? Says it's a 7 hour fishing tour from 730am to 230pm for stripped bass, but the captain went…read moreextremely slow out. We didn't even start fishing until 930 am and headed back by 1230 pm. That is 3 hours of fishing total! And then the captain would stay at a spot for 2 minutes before making us pull back up. Even though the entire bit of 25 people only caught 3 fish, the mate was helpful. I don't expect to catch fish every time I go, but on every other party boat I am on, you're dropping your lines 20-30 minutes after you start sailing. What's the point in getting out there early if you aren't even going to start fishing? The captain pull his engines in economy mode or something because he was going to damn slow to save fuel. I recommend the captain to either stick to the Raritan bay so he doesn't haven't go far, or speed it up. It wasn't even a choppy day either, it was 80, sunny, and gorgeous! I'm sticking to something out of the highlands next time.
