I got the traditional breakfast come with two egg, bacon, stir fry potatoes, and toast. The egg is sunny side up with good liquids egg yolk. Number one place for lunch if you are at Sanibel!!! This ocean view is breathtaking! I've been to this Island last month for vacation. We decided to stop by Sea Breeze for lunch and drinks. My family of four dined here for lunch. The service was prompt and friendly. For starters, my son and husband had a cup of the alligator gumbo ($4) my daughter had a cup of the seafood chowder ($4) and I dined on the ceviche. The gumbo was amazing--straight out of Louisiana tasting. The chowder, too, was fabulous, though a bit different that the east coast variety. The ceviche was the mist beautiful ceviche presentation I have ever seen, but I'm not sure that it lived up to its $15 price tag. It had an abundance of seafood, yes, including octopus, which was super cool, but the orange flavor overpowered the seafood taste entirely. I've had better. My son ordered the baby back rib special ($14), which was served with standard fries as well as a cup of baked beans. The rib portion was large and he was soon licking sauce from his fingertips. Seal of approval. My husband had the No Cry Burger ($16) which he declared to be a favorite. I didn't try it, but he said that it had a kick, tasted really good, and our waitress said that it was one of her favorites, too. My daughter and I split three sushi rolls: a California roll ($8), a Yellowtail roll ($10), and a Rainbow roll ($15). It was good, but not great. Again, I found it a bit blah. We gave a great sushi place by us in MI, and I guess I expected more from a place so close to the ocean. Pros: Great service, friendly staff, and a view. Draft beers were only $5.25, and the food prices seemed to be in-line with area restaurants. That being said, we still dropped over $100 on lunch, with only two drinks in the mix. Would I return? Great lunch menu on the patio overlooking the water in the distance. Our server, DREW recommended his faves for us as we asked and glad we did. The chowder, The Island Salad with optional warm, grilled Chicken and the Gulf Grouper blackened was great! As was the service. A lot of other entrees that passed also looked great. The hummus appetizer, the "10 ounce" burgers and the loaded Shrimp Tacos or the Taco Salad are next on my list. The fries on my order was crisp and perfect! Now the other part of the story here. In 1982 it was our first trip to Florida from New York City for a week. I can't remember the name of the hotel then. Looked nothing like it today. Was a tiny but sprawling hotel next to a Hilton at the time, with grilled hibachis and shuffleboard, etc. Then was bought over years ago by a conglomerate. They did a BEAUTIFUL job. Now called The Sundial resort and spa. What a difference 40 years make! You won't be disappointed here for lunch. A lot of great choices. Enjoy! We stopped in to Sea Breeze Cafe for our last lunch on the island after we had checked out of our resort. We did not stay at the Sundial Beach Resort, the restaurant is open to everyone. We enjoyed the hummus plate as an appetizer, the portions were generous, no need to ask for extra pita. We both had their house made bean burger for lunch. It was enormous. I think we could have split the burger as it was very tasty and filling. We sat on the outside patio which overlooks the pool, there were several kids swimming and the noise didn't seem to be a problem. You can see the gulf from the patio seating. The servers were very attentive, we were waiting on another couple to join us and there was absolutely no rush. read more

Experiencing fatigue, hunger and dry mouthedness from walking on the beach? If so, Sea Breeze is your cure! Recup with some tasty food and drink options and great views of the ocean. One of the only spots along the south-central coast of Sanibel Island with ocean views, this is a solid choice for lunch. They have tables outside and a bar inside (if you're trying to escape the sun). I have eaten here twice with my family and enjoyed it both times. I'd recommend the seafood chowder, kale salad, and the grouper Ruben. They hit the spot! And although this place won't blow your mind, it will get the job done. Was looking forward to a nice Thanksgiving dinner at Sea Breeze. Was a bit disappointed ..after making reservation and being told I would receive email confirmation, I ended having to call 4 times. Neve received email confirmation. A week before Thanksgiving I received a call saying they had two reservations in my name. Um no. Dinner was fine- however the stuffing tasted as if the chef dumped an entire box of salt in there. Couldn't eat it. Also the dessert table looked as if there had been a war on the table and the desserts lost. It was fairly disgusting- an incredible mess. It would have been nice if someone on staff had been monitoring it. The other thing that was incredibly gross was with the sushi tray. Someone brought out a new tray and instead of replacing the almost empty one with the new one, he proceeded to move the older pieces of sushi onto the new tray with his bare hands! Cafeteria feel atmosphere. The food was good. We started with a calamari appetizer. It was tender. Very slim cut and a corn meal crust with a thick and tangy marinara sauce. The caesar was good. Not over dressed. The croutons were out of a box could have done without. The crab cakes were crispy outside and very meaty. The blackened mahi was firm and tasty. The spices were food and not over spiced. For dessert the chocolate chocolate cake was moist. The chocolate sauce tasted very much like Hershey's and squeezed from a bottle. Had a nice lunch overlooking the pool with the beach in the distance. It was nice however I'm not convinced that a pool view (with a boat load of kids screaming) is a good look. We're not all looking like Christy Brinkley or David Beckham so the view of the average family is generally not all that appetizing, (speaking from my own look in the mirror). So when you are paying for a view, you should expect that view to hold some value and I don't know if that is true at the Sea Breeze for lunch on a sunny day...just saying... So we had the Blackened Mahi Tacos and the Blackened Grouper Grab, both were cooked well and very tasty. Not too much to eat and not too little, just right for lunch and we enjoyed them. Got a $13 Rum Runner but I thought they had too much of a coconut flavor which isn't normally included in most rum runners that I've experienced so I switched it up to a Mai Tai and it was good. Not over the top good as it was mostly mix and I'm not sure if any drink that is mostly mix is worth a $13 price tag. They serve $8 drinks for $13 because you pay for the view and I just don't think the view was worth it. read more

For a restaurant inside of a hotel this place is pretty nice. Big spacious bar with good music in the back ground. The view is amazing. The pros include a massive jerk burger that stuffed me. Great tasting flutas as a starter and believe it or not great tasting water. My only complaint is the burger did not come cooked as asked and seasoning was hardly noticeable. The view is the best in Sanibel overlooking the Gulf with the resorts nicely landscaped pool with the Gulf in the background. We walk or bike here often. I recommend coming for drinks and simple lunch. We had the salmon (ordered medium rare) and the shrimp, and both were just ok in quality and both were way over cooked. I have had the sushi before and it is just "ok". Come here because it's a nice place with a great view and cold drinks. read more

Part of a beautiful new expansion at Sundial, Sea Breeze Cafe makes me wish, yet again, we could award half-stars, because it sits firmly at a 3.5 for our breakfast. With a view right on the gulf, and remarkably reasonable prices for Sanibel, it makes a great lazy day breakfast--but definitely don't go when you're in a hurry. They were packed and service was slow, even if we did manage to score a no-reservations table on the outdoor patio. The stuffed French Toast was to die for, Eggs Benedict worth a repeat, but the waffles were only so-so. It's a promising start to a fairly new place, but if you go at a peak time like weekend brunch, expect to wait a loooooong time. Ate here 2 both nights of our family vacation during COVID. Both nights the food was very tasty and too large to finish. However, we had two different experiences with service. The first night our waitress was outstanding and went above and beyond. The second night however, got off on the wrong foot. While our waiter showed us to our seats we noticed his mask was below his nose in which we kindly asked him if he would please raise the mask over his nose to prevent the potential spread of the virus. The waiter responded very rudely by saying "I know how to wear a mask, you wear your mask your way and I'll wear it my way." Luckily we received a different waiter after named Digby who took great care of us. Meanwhile the original waiter made sure to purposely walk in circles around our table while still incorrectly wearing his mask. read more

I enjoyed my time at the Sea Breeze Cafe this morning. Their $15 breakfast buffet included a nice selection of the basics: scrambled eggs, bacon, link sausage and potatoes. You also have the option of eggs any way and waffles. Lighter options are oatmeal, dry cereal, fruit, muffins, bagels and toast. Usually buffets like this have white bread and a light whole wheat bread. Sea Breeze had a nice, actually healthy whole grain bread available that tasted good and was substantial. The room which is in the lobby on the second floor is very nice with an expansive view of the gulf. The server was efficient and and pleasant. read more

My husband and I ate at the Sea Breeze Cafe our first morning at the Sundial Resort. Not only was it NOT complimentary, but the food was the same style you would receive at a cheap motel (where it WOULD be complimentary). Our bill came out to be over $45. We served ourselves, and a waiter took orders for two orange juices, which were small and somehow cost $5 each. However, that was still not the worst part. The worst part was that, despite providing no real service that would require tipping, the Sea Breeze Cafe goes to the liberty of tipping themselves not just 10 but 20%. But--wait--there's more. They still provide an option for you to tip even more (in case you didn't notice that it's included) AND the suggested amounts are inflated by over $1 each (in case you don't bother to do the math). Fish was way overcooked, consistency of rubber and tasteless. They forgot to bring the kids meal, which should've been the first thing to come out. This place is not that good. The food is pricey and they serve very little. We ordered to go so we could eat in our room during one of our nights there, and it was not impressive at all. We ordered the calamari (like 10 pieces with some peppers), the gumbo soup which was ok, but definitely didn't taste like a New Orleans dísh, and the steak Ceasar salad which again was very plain with a few pieces of steak on top. I wouldn't order from here again. They definitely need to step up their game with their menu options, prices and serving sizes. read more

Last night of our trip and decided to eat at the hotel (thoroughly enjoyed Sundial resort and Spa) seated quickly- had made reservation for 6.30. The staff were friendly, especially our waitress "Leigh" we have twin toddlers and she was amazing with them. Leigh made our dining experience! Server couldn't remember to fill water or bring appetizers or open bottle of wine which she left sitting on our table. Had to ask where our hot appetizer was...took wait staff 20 minutes to figure out how to split bill. Manager no place to be found... and can't blame on crowded cafe...we were only table there. Dinner just after sunset. Would have been a good view of it. Sushi in the Cafe was good. Tried the Shima roll with Krab on top, it was little slices of it, instead of covered in mayo. Served with great eel sauce and without spicy mayo by request. Also had the premium philly roll. Same sauces, very thin sliced smoked salmon on top. The ginger onion soup was very strong, couldn't drink it all. They could use a miso on their menu. The seaweed salad does have pepper flakes in it, even though they said it didn't. But they weren't spicy at all, although I picked the biggest ones out and only had a few bites. The cucumber salad was very thinly sliced and strong vinegar taste, which I thought went well with cutting the cream cheese and eel sauce. The hot tea was Bigalow Big box presentation and Sweet Dreams with honey and lemon really helped deal with the cold weather. Brought a refill with new bags and water and it was included in the first price. Wife was happy with the seafood chowder. The bowl made a meal, which gave me 4 pieces of her Sushi. read more

We ordered swordfish, grouper, burger and another fish dish for our table. It was almost inedible. No flavor/dry and the side dishes were not paired well.
