I wanted to update my review. I rarely do this, but I felt it important. The workers are all very welcoming and friendly, but less than a week after getting my nails done my nails were chipping and breaking. I've had my nails done at other salons for multiple years and never had any issue like this. I asked them to remove the gel as my nails clearly need a break. They said that my nails did this because they "curved upwards", but I informed them that no... they do not and this happened because of filing the nails too thin. They then agreed and suggested trying other forms of color like powder gel, builder gel and other forms. At the end of the service I asked how much I owed. They did $6 for the removal and then added $25 for "spa manicure" which I was not advised of before hand. I paid the $31 and tipped, but was quite surprised. Overall, the people there are very nice and efficient. The environment is relaxing and clean. I'm believe this was a one off for them, but even in trying to fix the issue the gift certificate wouldn't cover 1/2 my next appointment if I returned. read more

Peter and his wife Tammy are working at "Sea Nails" 832 SR-A1A Ponte Vedra Beach. They both are fabulous technicians and I received absolutely the best combo of pedicure/acupressure/hand, neck and head massage today . I only wish I knew about them sooner. Peter developed special combo pedicure/ reflexology/ massage that no other salon offers. Just give them a call and ask for "Peter's combo"- it's worth every penny you pay. From now on , when my daughters ask me what I want for Xmas, Mother's Day or birthday I won't think twice, I'll know what I'll be asking for. read more

Lovely pedicure chairs and staff was very friendly with clients but the job for $175 for two powder mani and standard pedi's was terrible. My daughter's nails look like they've already grown out a week, and my toes look like my 3 year old granddaughter painted them. And all of it took over two hours. Very disappointed. read more

First I want to say Emily is wonderful and I give her 5 starts. My sister and I arrlved at 1 for our appointments. Told they were down 2 techs. Elderly lady explained sister would have to wait. Then sat down and ate. Her next appointment came in. Sister was skipped again. I completed my gel polish, sister told elderly lady to just cut her toe nails. That was all she did. Charged her $15!! $15 to clip her toes. Drove from Mandarin, had an appointment, was put off 45 minutes and charged her $15 . Sister is from Tampa, told her how wonderful Sea nails was. When we got in the car she said she would never to go back. Talked to owner, shrugged his shoulders and said $15. I'll go back only because of Emily. read more

I really liked the pedicure chairs they were unlike anything I've ever sat on. The pedicure was good, not great, I've had better for a deluxe pedicure I expect some hot stones or something. I wasn't shown a menu so I didn't know what was included. I liked how they played HGTV on the tv. But the one thing that irked me, when you are customer you should listen to the customer. I asked if they could do the pedicure and manicure together I got a cold No, and that upset me because at my usual nail salon they will do it. So will I go back? Probably not. read more

New to this salon; Followed Linda from previous location. Salon was lovely. Looked newly renovated, spacious, bright and very clean. All staff were very friendly as well. Very good stock of nail colors and powders to choose from; great quality products as well. A bit further to travel than I'm used to but definitely worth the drive. read more

Two things to know about this salon. The first will only make sense if you've spent a bit of time in "ESOL-esque" salons. The second will only make sense if you've spent a bit of time in Florida during any month between February and November. 1. If you have multiple "services" (ie. paraffin, French or American, mani AND pedi, etc) they'll feign an inability to be able to add up the charges correctly and then wait to see if you'll call them on it. Once is an honest mistake, but I've seen them do it to someone every time I've been there. If English isn't your first language, I can understand that there might be verbal communication obstacles, but math is a universal language. Oh, and love. My suggestion to them: if you're gonna play this game, move the giant sign with the prices on it so that it isn't the only thing people have to look at while their nails are drying. The prices are very reasonable, but trying to screw people isn't (this is not a "happy ending" kinda spa.) I'd actually rather they raise their prices than walk out annoyed at having to watch it every time. 2. Air conditioning: they don't always use it. About 85% of the year it's too hot to breath in this part of the country. In a windowless nail salon, it's even hotter AND you're breathing in everything from acrylic dust to acetone fumes. Shut the door and turn on the air conditioner. Charge everyone an extra dollar. It's worth the extra few days it might add to my life or at least I can decide in what "unhealthy" ways I'm going to take those days off on my own. If I know all this, why did I keep going back? They do a decent job, inexpensively, I never have an appointment and the options are limited. Also, there was the time I tore my pinky nail off the finger it was supposed to be attached to. I ran in with tears of unholy pain streaming down my face and the woman there hugged me, said soothing things in a language I didn't understand (yeah, mommy issues) and fixed it so it eventually grew back in the manner and on the finger in which it was intended to grow. read more

Sam does the best gel manicures. They last significantly longer than any salon I've been to in the past and she always makes sure they are perfect before you leave. I just suggest making an appointment since they are typically busy. read more

I came to this salon a week ago to get sns taken off my nails. They left so much on that I came back a couple days later because it was cracking off and was still so thick on my nails that is was sharp and they were catching on things. When I came in today, she didn't bother to soak my nails and took a drill straight to them. It hurt so bad that I kept pulling back. She said "Ellen probably left your sns on because you're scared of the drill" BUT I'm not.. she was just DRILLING MY ACTUAL NAIL AND IT HURT. I let her know that it hurt and then she took out a nail file and was SCRAPING MY SKIN... honestly horrible experience and my nails hurt so bad now. I can't believe this place. read more

I am disappointed at the Yelp reviews...until I moved away, they were my go to place...Sam, Ken and their whole family treated me like I was part of their family. I watched their children grow, I worried about Sam when she had her health issues. They even let me bring my bird into the shop as I was still trying to get my nails and toes done when I had moved 80 miles away. I was never disappointed in their work or their kindness. I even had my eyebrows tattooed by Kens sister when she was in town...Lord I miss them all...going for a Dr. appt. soon and trying to get a pedi appt while I'm in town....yes, they speak their native language amongst themselves and so what? i came in to the salon today to get my acrylic nails removed. one nail broke off today and was bleeding and barely there. i came in with a band aid on and i sat down she takes it off and proceeds to dig under my other nails with an acrylic nail tip. it hurt a lot and most of my nails were very very thin damaged and bloody after she removed them. after this my technician drills my OPEN SKIN with her dirty damn drill and decides to buff MY BLEEDING BAIL BEDS never coming back i currently am wearing band aids on every one of my finger nails. very disappointing. read more

Terrible customer service and poor quality. I have lived in the area for over 20 years and decided to go to Sea Nails because my regular salon was closed for the holiday. The nail technician said she did SNS but the quality was not what I was used to. Nonetheless, two days later the SNS fell off one of the nails. I went in for a repair and the owner said they were too busy to take care of the nail. Two days later, another one of the SNA fell off another one of my nails. This time I called to make an appointment for the repair, explained that it was SNS and they gave me an appointment for 10:15. I showed up this morning at 10:15 and the nail tech that did my nails was there but denied she had done my nails last week! She also said she didn't know how to do SNS, so she was not the person I was speaking about. They said they could not help me and that I would need to come back later. At this point I was so frustrated that I will never visit again or recommend Sea Nails to anyone. I actually read the reviews before going, but decided to give them a chance because they have been in the area for a while. In hindsight, I should have gone with my gut. read more

Do yourself a favor and go to any other nail salon in Ponte Vedra. I went in for the first time on my lunch break with a co-worker. When it was time to pay, I presented my Amex and was told I couldn't use it. I handed over a Visa instead but there was a problem with the card. I said the only other card I had was the Amex, and magically that was fine. I stepped outside to wait for my friend, and when she came out she said she was also told that they do not accept Amex, even though she had heard my entire conversation with the cashier and knew they had taken mine. I understand some businesses don't like to take Amex because of the fees, but just be honest about it. When we got back to the office, we both remarked that those were probably the worst manicures we've ever had. Needless to say, we will not be back. Try the one next to Fresh Market, it's much better. read more

Recommendation: go to any salon in PVB BUT this one: last year, I broke my big toe. Not only bummed for the obvious reasons but it was the day before I was going in for a pedicure; something I don't treat myself to often. Several weeks later I got the "okay" from my podiatrist to carry on as usual as I was out of my foot wrap. I went in to SEA NAILS (first time there) thrilled to get a pedicure. Asked the young man doing my pedi to please be careful with the one toe. He wasn't. I asked him again. No adjustment. He went on a cocky monologue of how Podiastrists will hoodwink you into paying them money for nothing. It was insulting. This dr. helped me and I totally trusted his procedure with me including the self pay discount he gave me for my 2 appmts. I left this salon with a resentment. (I need to get over it). If I could rate lower than a ZERO I WOULD! Service was terrible! Overall job terrible! When I arrived I was the only person in the shop, so service was quick to sit me and get started (alright! Great!) But as soon as I sat and told the man what I'd like, another man came up and told me to get other things aswell I declined more than a few times to the same things he was telling me. I starter to get irritated because I've declined more than a few times! I got a set of acrylics. They are overlapped onto my skin not filed down on the sides enough (yes i did ask for them to be filed before I left more the a couple times i asked) and the paint job looks like I did it! (Which is nooo good, that's why i pay someone to do it!) The whole time i was in there the man doing my nails didn't talk to me or say hi, anything! I really don't care about that part! I'm more pissed about how crappy my nails look $50 is NOT WORTH IT! (That doesn't include tip) i usually pay $30 at my normal nail shop and have great experience! I will NOT be going back here nor will i be recommending this place! Very very disappointed! read more

The atmosphere is not the most beautiful, but it is pleasant enough, and twice now Tom has given me the best pedicures I have ever had, which is saying something. I have feet that easily get callouses and splits on my big toes and heels. Tom gently and efficiently gets rid of all my bad stuff and leaves my feet smooth for weeks and without any sore spots, which I have often gotten at other salons, when they overzealously go after my callouses. I will continue to go there every few weeks to keep my feet comfortable and smooth. read more

Never have I ever felt so insulted and disrespected in my life as I have today. I have been a long time customer of Sea Nails Salon. I started going there when I was 14 years old (I'm going on 24 now) and have been going to the same guy there ever since. I have always been satisfied with how he has done my nails although I am a little picky and I pay extra for this and tip 25% + but that is always something my nail technician has been able to do, for almost ten years. Today I called to reschedule my appointment (a phone call I have made many many times before) and the owner who has always been very nice said that my technician could squeeze me in tomorrow at 3. However, I heard her in the background speaking in Vietnamese to another worker and the phone was passed to my nail technician's wife, Sam. Sam has never once done my nails except for maybe a handful of pedicures. She is not as skilled as my technician so I have never seen her. She told me that her family needs money and my nails take more than 45 minutes so I was not allowed to come back. I have never heard of a nail tech (a good one anyway) being able to do a new set of nails in under an hour let alone 45 minutes and because of this I was asked to not come back after being a loyal customer for 10 YEARS! I asked to actually speak to my nail tech but his wife refused, repeating "Your nails take too long, my family needs money." This salon has gone from a first class salon to a slap job fast-foodesque salon with the main focus being making money and not customer satisfaction. There are plenty of other salons that are more customer service oriented and not so money hungry. (I was driving 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back to go to this place.) If you need nails for a night (i.e. your wedding night, prom, Valentine's Day) this might be an okay place to go, but since their focus has become money, this is no longer the high class establishment it once was. This is very disappointing and obviously Sam is the one who runs the show at the salon now and that is a scary thought to me since her work is mediocre at best and she has no concept of customer service. You really should look elsewhere. This is saddening because they are located in the heart of Ponte Vedra where clients expect high quality but you won't find it here anymore. I will miss my technician a lot but as long as his psychotic wife is around, I'm grateful I'm not going there anymore. ahhhh a 16 year relationship today down the drain. Go in for a MUCH needed me time and little young girl (name undetermined) can't stand that my nails are just too short for her. Apparently when her work is too hard for her she gets pissy. I'm sorry isn't it supposed to me about me? I don't want my nails long so I don't get a fungus. the end - SO I get the attitude along with cold water, less of a massage during pedi, the slamming of the utensils along with my shoes, etc. then onto my gel mani where undetermined also complains my nails "not right shape" - ok I thought this your job. Onward to getting to work and finding my one nail to bubble up - have to travel back to Ponte Vedra from downtown only to go in to have someone who cannot be distinguished as a man or a woman (not that there is anything wrong with that) tell me that "Americans want everything for nothing" after I said that I wanted to be compensated for my inconvenience and terrible experience. REALLY? 16 years.......... and I want everything for nothing? Not so much. People: it's good until it's not. And people show their true colors when things go wrong. I am not going back - I am not a victim - so just make sure that if you get the little attitude handle it right away. Don't go back you will be disappointed.
