We had a day in Jacksonville and wanted to do something we don't get to do in land locked Colorado. An air boat tour sounded fun....and it was! Our captain was very knowledgable. We saw dolphins in the bay, went past the naval base, did donuts in front of a passing naval carrier then went through the everglades. Saw herons and egrets which were really cool. No gators as it was a little cold for them today, but we had so much fun. Totally worth the $50 per person. Captain gave us a brief history of the area and pointed out relevant things like where the coastguard is, what they do, shrimp trawlers, great restaurants, ferry information etc. Loved our 90 minute ride. read more

This is a well organized, entertaining and educational tour. I agree with the other reviewers that Mike is a great guide. The perfect blend of funny and smart. We went on a freezing cold rain drenched day and while it was fun it certainly was miserable. It would be helpful if they had tarps or additional rain gear for their guests. So much more than we expected ! Captain Mike is the best guide we've ever had on ANY tour ! He makes the entire 1.5hrs enjoyable, exciting, and so fun ! It was a great combination of high speed riding on the big (St. John)River , slowing down some to spot wildlife and listening to GREAT music intermittently in our headphones which was PERFECTLY chosen to go with whatever we were experiencing at the time! From rock to country, it was perfectly choreographed with the tour! Mike knows so much about the area and once we went off to the smaller creeks and such for the slow part, he gave us SO much great information about the area, it's history, the animals and the fauna ! Who knew white cypress trees were so valuable ?! Not us ! It's always great when someone can be informative and FUNNY at the same time and Captain Mike is the best at it ! Did you know gator's genders aren't determined until after the eggs incubate ? Fascinating stuff :) We only had one short day in St. Augustine and we are SUPER happy we chose to spend part of it with Mike on the river! DO IT ! You will love it too !! This tour was so much fun. When I first saw that it was a headphone guided tour, I was not excited but I think that was one of my favorite parts. You didn't need to strain to hear the tour guide, and our guide was very entertaining and willing to stop to go in closer to look at the alligator we saw. My family and I were planning to do an airboat ride but it had gone wrong the moment we booked with Crazy Fish. You'll only get crazy here! The google business listing that you call to get info from has the WRONG ADDRESS. When I called the owner from SAID GOOGLE BUSINESS LISTING he told me I was at the wrong address...with family in tow. Very disappointing. I paid nearly $300 for my family of 4. Their website and you tube video is very deceiving. It was so boring. They said we see dolphins... we finally saw the dolphins and they slowed down for 2 mins and then kept going. We saw no other wildlife. Didn't do any fun spins on the boat. They slowed down and jabbered on for like 15 mins looking at nothing. My kids and I were so bored. They also expected a 20% tip. Maybe had they not sped past the dolphins they would have gotten one. Our Google maps sent us to the wrong address and we missed our reservation. When I called to ask to change the reservation they straight up refused. They said we could do stand by in the next outing but no guarantee of going out. They were however happy to take our money and refuse to refund it. He was extremely rude. I would not recommend. 6/6/2018 Just took an airboat ride with my wife and her friend. WOW!! Great tour!!! Captain Mike does it all, from flying across the water at 100 mph to a nice slow ride into the backwaters to see the flora and fauna. The Captain is very knowledgeable about the wildlife encountered as well as the different plants and trees. On just this trip we saw osprey, cottonmouth, alligators and a manatee, along with dozens of different birds. Awesome trip and highly recommended! We will definitely be coming back for more! Very disappointed with management/ownership. Yes, their website states the "rules" are very stringent. However, if you're not familiar with the area, they don't care. We were on course to be early, only to find our GPS took us to a ferry. We weren't expecting that. We missed the ferry by one vehicle, not time. So, we had to high tail it the long way around. Now we wouldn't be the 1/2 hour early that they requested. When we get to the marina, we have 3 minutes until our scheduled tour. They don't have any signs. I called them using the hands free in my Jeep. They don't answer. So I continue driving around the marina lot. They text me to ask how they can help. I have to pull over & respond. They don't answer the text right away. I text again. Nothing. I call them again & again they don't answer. Finally, after we've missed our tour time, they text that the info is in the confirmation email. I didn't have access to this email as I was trying to find them, that's why I called them. When I was able to access that email, yes, all of the info was there. Park at the public boat ramp & enter the back of the marina. Again, there were no signs at the boat ramp or at the marina for this business. I bought their cancellation insurance, but that did me no good in this case. You have to send them an email notifying them of cancellation up to the time of your tour. That's hard to do when you're driving around trying to find them & they won't pick up the phone when you call. Yes, I was late, but wouldn't have been if they would answer their phone! This was all explained to them, but they've chosen to ignore it. So, I've basically paid them $190 for nothing. Typical of what's wrong with our country today. They got paid for doing absolutely nothing. I will never use this business again. If you do, be careful & don't expect any help from them. read more

Captain Mike mixed great humor and knowledge into a thoroughly enjoyable adventure mixing thrill ride with quiet spotting of gators, snakes, turtles and other ne'er do well critters. When you're in St Augustine but growing weary of crowds streets and crowded beaches, Sea Serpent Tours is a great change of pace as a trip through a pristine wilderness. We did the St Johns airboat tour yesterday afternoon with our 7 year old. It was a blast! Capt Mike was awesome and knows so much about the area. We saw turtles, snakes and a little alligator. The tour was much more than I was expecting. They have headsets with narration and music if you want, or you can just listen to the wind whip by. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the beauty of the nature around us. We will be back again. And bring some other family with us! Looking forward to trying out the hydro bikes as well.
