The owner (or manager) was extremely rude when we came back to exchange a NeeDoh we had just purchased. We had only left the store a few minutes earlier before noticing that it had a hole in it, so we returned to ask if we could exchange it for one that wasn't damaged. Instead of helping us, he became very aggressive and repeatedly squeezed the NeeDoh right in our faces while saying, "There is nothing wrong with it." He was practically yelling at us, even though the toy clearly had a hole. The way he spoke to us and handled the situation was very unprofessional and disrespectful. Cheap merchandise sold at crazy prices, awful service. Rude staff. Will not recommend!

Took the niece and her friends to the seashell shop a few days ago for some hermit crabs and there were a dozen or so crazy protesters on the street out front yapping about the president. Perfect location for in and out shopping but it also draws out the evil in the world because this place is in a prime spot on the hwy for all to see. The parking lot was overrun with bystanders cars but we managed to park a little to the side and play some mini golf to observe how crazy people can be before heading in. The young lady inside was very helpful in explaining to the 4 young teenage girls how to keep the crabs alive by feeding and cleaning. The fudge was an excellent surprise too. (Try the Caramel) Everyone was super friendly inside but with the crazy people outside it almost seemed like maybe they should be boarding up the windows to protect the store. Hard to stay neutral, or take a side when destruction with any position is staring you in face taking a prime shopping weekend away from this local family run business. well be back for more food and treats next week. read more

Having a hermit crab is a right of passage for any child in my opinion and of course I wanted my granddaughter to have that experience. Unlike Ocean City or Wildwood, Rehoboth doesn't have the standard beach store selling them every other retail establishment. We actually had to look long and hard to try to find them. The first store only had a few for $7.99 per crab and they looked half dead. Second store insisted you buy two and none of them were out or active. The third store, the Sea Shell Shop was like a ray of light. We were further up the strip and about ready to abort our mission when the sign "we have hermit crabs " on the door stopped us dead in our tracks. Inside they had two large tanks full of different size crabs, all active, and happy as a crab can be. The one crab was 18 years old and massive! A true testament to their dedication and care of these little critters. Aside from the crabs they had everything else a crab mommy would ever need - small cages, food in different sizes, variety, size up shells, treats, sponges, climbers - they had items here I haven't seen elsewhere. Sharon, the store manager was very helpful in assisting us select just the right little guy and getting everything we'll need to start....and at only $1.99 per crab we were able to spurge and get hermie a friend! Aside from the crabs the store itself is pretty neat. They had your typical souvenir type stuff and beach decor + a nice size selection of kids toys and such, including the brand Doug and Melissa which I love for their good quality. Prices weren't bad either. While their name promotes them as a sea shell store I saw very little shells but more a little of everything. They even sold fresh frudge! Only gripes were the store is very tight with congested isles and hard to avoid walking past someone without the fear of your purse knocking something over. I also felt the care instructions for the hermit crabs should have been included with the crab purchase and not an additional .39 cents. Other than that we're fans! And on our way out I noticed another sign "little hands are welcome here", especially given the delicate nature of some of their wares this made me smile. read more

Fun souvenir shop with very reasonably priced and beachy/kids jewelry. Signs everywhere saying they have hidden cameras so beware and do not steal anything-kind of funny how many signs are all over. read more

This store has everything a child could want on a vacatiln. The workers are very nice and helpful.

Awful. The workers were rude and seemed to lack common sense. They shoved all our stuff into a small bag at a snail's pace. They didn't wrap fragile stuff up, just sealed plastic around it, which offers no protection. We bought an ornament and I never saw them put it in the bag, but I was standing behind my husband holding a wiggly baby so I thought they would put it in. We got home and the ornament is nowhere to be found. I am fairly certain it just never even got bagged. read more

We always have to make a stop here while in Rehoboth for their fudge. However, I was highly disappointed by the fudge I received this when visiting this time. I opened up the taped box when I got home to find a long piece of hair sitting in our fudge. Extremely grossed out and disappointed. read more
