This is always been one of my favorite parks, especially for concerts in the summertime. "Yachty by Nature" was the star entertainment for Sunday. The park is very organized. People are so pleasant.. It's just a great community of partygoers. Dog, friendly kid, friendly. Everyone was very polite about putting their umbrellas down when the performers came on. This park is beautiful and one of my favorite places to visit when I want to enjoy some nature. I especially love the abundance of Pride of Madeira flowers throughout the park. These vibrant purple blooms attract all kinds of birds, especially hummingbirds, which is a big reason I keep coming back. Most of my visits have been for bird photography, and the flowers provide endless opportunities to watch and photograph hummingbirds feeding on the blossoms. Even if you're not into birding, it's a wonderful place to take a leisurely walk, enjoy the scenery, and soak in a little peace and quiet away from the busy city. My only complaint is the parking situation. Street parking is very limited, so finding a spot can be a challenge, especially during busier times. Other than that, it's a lovely park and a hidden gem for both nature lovers and photographers. read more

This is a wonderful park to walk around and they have so many different trails and some are shady but bring your hat and don't forget to wear sunblock! It's very bright and beautiful here with lots of cute dogs enjoying the miles of grass to romp on. read more

Summer is back and Sea Terrace Community Park is gearing for another fun-filled, family-oriented summer events! The Shakespeare in the Park is one of them! It's a community event that brings people together and a staple of summer plays being performed nationwide. Just before the play started the community was treated with music, dance and acrobatics. We just went here last Sunday to a free music festival and the place was beautiful. The location was amazing. Everything was well organized and it was so fun. They even provided bathrooms. There were food trucks, drinks, great music, some other community booths. My whole family enjoyed themselves so much, including the dog! There was a place to park and lock your E-bikes. The view of the ocean was amazing. They are doing this for the next few Sundays. Such a nice time and it was so great to mingle with other people and see everyone having fun. You can park opposite at Salt Creek and walk/ride under the tunnel. read more

The parking for Sea Terrace Community Park is actually the Salt Creek Beach parking lot. Competing with beachgoers and summer tourists who are also trying to park their vehicles is not for the faint of heart. A lot of folks really like Sea Terrace, and several summer community events are planned here, so taking the Dana Point Trolley or a shuttle could be the best approach. read more

Located off of Niguel Road inland of the Pacific Coast Highway in Dana Point is the park that is accessible through a pedestrian tunnel from the Salt Creek Beach parking lot as well as hilly staircases from neighboring town houses and apartments. There are winding paths and a lot of open grassy areas for the wonderful festivals we've attended held here in the summer like the recent Food, Wine and Music festival and the upcoming California Celtic Classic and Highland Games. Our family and friends just indulged in some tasty beers and wines from around the world along with some kettle corn to snack on this past weekend, and our young daughter attempted the bouncy obstacle course and had her face painted all while rocking to some old 80's familiar rock. In a couple of weeks we are looking forward to attending the Scottish traditional festival and enjoying some archery, Celtic dancing and more at this event. Tickets are preselling for $10.00 and $15.00 at the gate. We hope to see you there! read more

Park is nice. Setup and management of the California Celtic Classic event needs tweaking. This review is for that particular event at the park: Parking: We opted to park at the high school and take the shuttle in. It would have been nice to have a sign at the boarding area saying this is where you go to get on the shuttle. We saw a big school bus and assumed that was probably it, but signage would have made it absolutely clear. Being dropped of by the shuttle: The shuttle did not take us directly to any entry gate that we could tell. It dropped us off at a parking lot, and we had to walk thru a tunnel and across a field before we got to the event entrance. Again, signage at LEAST at the end of the tunnel would have been helpful for those of us who do not know the area and who COULD have turned right by mistake rather than left for the event entrance. Checking in at the gate: There should have been some sort of event schedule handout. Preferably including a general map of the layout of your site. Even if you just typed up a schedule per area, like you had on the website, on a piece of paper, that would have been great. And again, strategically placed signage (like just after the entrance) would have been nice. After a while there, the venue was small enough, we figured it out. But why make your attendees GUESS? Athletics field: I suggest seating. Maybe bleachers or something. It seemed the park expected people to come with their own chairs and/or blankets, but if I'm walking around looking at things in different areas, the last thing I want to do is haul seating around with me. And, bleachers would stagger people at different heights so we could see over the people in front of us. There were more/different events here than I have seen at other Highland Games, but it was such a disappointment to have no place to sit and watch. And I suggest playing Celtic music over the loudspeakers rather than swing and Sousa numbers. As much as I love that kind of music, we were attending a Celtic event, afterall. Dining area: You had tables that would seat, what? 8 people? 10? But each table had only 4 chairs. And half of those were stolen by people who wanted to sit at the stages for the shows. More chairs, please. The stage behind the re-enactment area: Was that stage 2? There were absolutely no chairs or seating there. People stole some from the dining area which was already short of chairs. Again, I don't want to be carrying seating around with me. Provide benches, chairs, SOMETHING... How many events are you going to hold in one place? At some point in the day, music from some summer concert series you hold at the park was drowning out any of the musicians in the California Celtic Classic event and of course, THAT music had nothing to do with Celtic roots at all. What was amazing to me was this concert event was being held right in front of the entrance to the CCC event. I liked the music from the concert, but that's not the point. I went to the CCC event because I wanted the Celtic 'experience' and that didn't include rock songs from the 80s. Why would you do that to EITHER event? Choose to hold one or the other if there is any chance sound could ruin either event. Oh, and I missed the pipe bands. By the looks of it, you didn't really have any room for them, unless you did away with that concert stuff at the entrance. But the pipe bands definitely add to the experience of this kind of thing. I think it's a pretty park. I think this CCC event COULD be a pretty cool thing if you made some tweaks to organizing and managing it. I liked the scope of the athletics, I liked the variety of vendors, I liked it was compact enough to navigate fairly easily, I liked the array of food vendors although I stuck with the UK types because that's one of the things I look forward to at these things. That, and kettle corn! *l* Right now, I'm on the fence about returning next year if you have it (as I travel all the way from the Santa Clarita Valley), but I would consider it if some changes were made. Pretty park to go for a walk by yourself or with your dog/friends/stroller. Paved walkway that goes all the way through the park and over to the beach in a big loop. Best place to park is in the pay lot at Salt Creek. During the summer the city hosts some fun free Concerts in the Park. read more

Too far from the Lantern District and no free parking. Why they moved the Blues Festival here and Sunday concerts is beyond me. It's called the Doheny Blues Festival for a reason - not the Sea Terrace Park Blues Festival. Dana Point really missed the mark on this one. Concerts just aren't the same anymore. read more

Saw a concert here and they did a great job setting up to have fun. Easy to get to and clean. They setup a row of portable toilets that were decent as far as those can be haha. They had a hand sanitizer stand out front to clean your hands. It was the first time going there for a concert in the park and loved it. Loved you can buy wine or food or bring your own. yes im taking the FTR for a community park, but i did legitimately spend the afternoon here haha. Sea Terrace Park is located right off PCH and Niguel Rd in Dana Point and its a pretty large space. lots of grassy areas, paved paths for walking, and a nice view since it is right off PCH. only sucky part is the parking situation. its all street parking and during event times, could be pretty hard to find a spot. however, there is a large lot at a neighboring park nearby that is a paid lot but is a great option since there is a walkway connected the lot to Sea Terrace Park. great place to be outdoors and enjoy a sunny afternoon in Dana Point. read more

The park is beautiful; but there are gopher holes in several spots. Be careful while walking. Oh, and parking blows. But the park is stunning and the trails are great to run, if you like to run on the sidewalk. read more

We were looking for something fun to do (kind of last minute) a few weekends ago and stumbled across this place. They were having a free concert - and there were a few vendors set up. We weren't really equipped to stay for the concert but it was a pretty neat set up - and so close to the beach! We definitely plan on coming back and checking out other events at this place. read more

Beautiful park. Great place to take your dog, and a 3 min walk from salt creek beach. Just a lot of construction going on and noises.

Great place to watch free summer concerts! You can take a picnic with wine or beer and enjoy people watching. We took Uber round trip since we live only a few miles away. Got dropped off right at the entrance with our chairs, cooler and umbrella. The Selva parking lot is free, but a bit of a walk especially if you're carrying stuff. The Salt Creek parking lot with an underground access tunnel is a paid lot, but it's closer. The other option is the Dana Hills High School lot with a shuttle service. read more
