My family took the Metrolink from the Anaheim station ($10 per person) and it took about 45 minutes. Hubby and I drove from San Gabriel which took a little over an hour. My usual go to is The Hidden House Coffee shop with affordable and well made drinks, offering a sizable outdoor patio. The Ramos House Cafe is a few steps away, as well as the Los Rios Tea house. All of these are historic homes, vintage and picturesque. Within a few feet from the public parking lot is the Montanez building, where a nearby butterfly sanctuary is located. The Los Rios Cottages are for rent which are located next door to the Ramos House, very pretty but these are right alongside the train tracks, if you don't mind that racket, it'll be fine. It's an easy stroll and a beautiful destination. Come check it out. There are plenty more shops that I haven't visited. Today, I am limited as I have a medical boot (and a crutch) that's preventing me from my usual nosiness in discovering things on foot, until next time.

You can take Amtrak or Metrolink from Union Station and it literally drops you off right here in San Juan Capistrano. Makes it way less stressful than driving with kids. The event itself was well organized. Plenty of activities, egg hunts, puppet show, face painting, and enough space for kids to run around without it feeling too packed. Nice mix of younger kids and families just hanging out. What I liked most is the location. After the event, you can just walk around the Los Rios area. A bunch of restaurants and little spots nearby, so you can turn it into a full day. Feels chill, not overly commercial. Only thing is it can get a little crowded during the main egg hunt times, so timing matters. Earlier or in between sessions is better. Easy, fun, and low stress especially if you take the train. Would come back and make a whole day out of it.

My idea of playing is cheering him on while he slides down the slide and creating a fun atmosphere with the kids. Within minutes we had created a race between him and another little guy. Seeing kids having fun, in a safe, clean environment is crucial to development. Anything away from the screens is a win in my book. I really like this park. Seeing families and people of all ages here enjoying the park is really nice. The parking is free and accessible for those who needed ADA parking. There is access to restrooms, and the area is clean and devoid of trash, needles, etc.
