Easy to find by following the map directions. Gorgeous views. It's probably better for pictures in the winter time since a lot of the shrubbery is dried up in the summer.

"Three Arch Bay" makes sense when you see the Dana Point Arches. You walk down a quick decline through a bridge and back up seeing quite a lot - the beautiful harbor, the historical arches, and a statue of the "Hide Drogher." It's a short walk but with a lot to see. So many places to take pictures as well. It gets busy around 2 hours before sunset as a lot of couples and families like to take photos when the light is ideal.

** Dog Friendly** I search for the lesser known spots of interest/ historical places. After reading Grace LI's review and seeing her photos we just had to check this out. We parked at Santa Clara Ave and Street of the Amber Lantern. The Arches are between Amber and Violet Lantern streets in the Lantern District. As you looking towards the ocean you'll see a stairs to the left. Take those steps / walkway and you'll see the Arches. There is a plaque (pictured) that gives the history. Beautiful location. Further up stairs towards Violet Lantern street is a sculpture from 1990 by F Benedict Coleman of a sailor tossing a cowhide into the ocean. This is a (posted) non smoking area but there were two guys hanging out at lookout point ( at Amber lantern and Santa Clara) who were smoking.

As soon as you enter you will see a gorgeous garden and remnants of The Great Stone Church, which was destroyed by earthquake in 1812. I also liked Serra Chapel, which is the oldest building in California that's still in use, based on online search. I felt at peace just sitting inside the chapel for few minutes. Current admission fee is $19 for adults and $11 for youth (5-17) years of age). Admission fee includes a self-guided audio tour but the device was kind of difficult to hear. There isn't a designated parking lot for the Mission but there are few public parking lots near the area. I was here on a weekday so was able to find street parking along Camino Capistrano. Most of the street parking is limited to 5 hours. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance so it's a great location. You will definitely smell BBQ smoke coming from Heritage BBQ restaurant across the street.

FROM THERE, we had to drive to a place for a PICNIC. We hoped on the I-5, and we drove back down the I-5 to the San Juan CAPISTRANO Mission. After driving back and forth, and around the MISSION 2 Times, we found PARKING ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT. We found it in the Church Parking Lot. WE RECOMMEND MORE DISABLED PARKING!!! We walked right in, NO WAIT AT ALL. We started by looking for the Picnic Spot, which is in the back left corner. It is a nice spot with lots of tables and trees. In addition, there are individual handwashing stations there. After lunch, which we picked up at a nearby SUBWAY, we spent about an hour touring the SJC MISSION!!! Its highlight was the display of US FLAGS, my guess would be over 100!!!

I've put in a second request for a tour for two people on the date I requested, and so far no one has responded, so this one may also be canceled. At least two Viator representatives have called and sent email messages to try to get my tour confirmed, but they've not gotten a response. I also sent a message to the tour company asking that they respond to my pending tour request, but no response. I have given this tour company one star for poor customer service.
