Excellent Climbing | Parking is an Issue Sometimes free…read more **Do not park in the residential area. I hear you can get towed away, so park at the designated parking lot.** This is a semi-residential area, but locals and visitors mob up on this spot to hike and climb. Mostly trad/sport, but I am pretty sure I saw a boulder or two. Dogs are allowed. Mountain Lions are spotted on occasion, but we didn't see any. Burgers and Fries wall is super popular because the rock dries the fastest. It was raining when we went, so we didn't get to climb a whole lot. However, these are our favorite climbs when we got the chance: -Easter Island (5.8) -Bilbo Baggins (5.8) Easy trail to follow. Hike will take you about an hour. Total distance is 2.6km and it's a loop (partial).

We fed turkeys, small pig, donkeys, llamas, peacocks, bunnies, and guinepeags. I got hugs from the goose and kisses from snow (horse) as well as back tickles from the other horse. This was an experience like no other. I will be back here if I am ever in the Sunshine Coast. The tour guide was incredible and kind as well as knowledgeable on everything.

Hiking up and down St Marks Summit took us around 5.5 hours (with eating lunch and taking photos and lots of breaks!). We hiked around total of 10 km. The hike is definitely moderate-hard. It gets more difficult at the very top. It's muddy and slippery. Please be careful. The path at the end isn't as clear cut, a lot of climbing tree roots. There are plenty of parking :) the toilets were closed when we were there in October. There was only the portable toilets - kind of smelly. Make sure to bring your own tissue.

It's mainly uphill and took us 2 hours to get up and around 1.5 hours to get back down. There are also a lot of tree roots/branches, I slightly sprained my ankle on the way back down. The viewpoint was stunning but very limited space to see it and it can easily get crowded up there. Two tips if you go: Bring bug spray, lots of mosquitoes! Bring lots and lots of water, we ran out going back but thankfully, there wasn't too many uphill. I highly suggest having GPS/maps on when you hike, signage isn't great. In my opinion, the view wasn't worth the difficult hike lol

I discovered Furry Creek Beach and Lookout through Google Maps while driving Sea to Sky Highway…read more It's located 20 kilometers south of Squamish, BC and 48 kilometers north of Vancouver. The beach and lookout are situated in the back section of the Furry Creek Golf and Country Club. Basically, this residential community is the host for visitors and tourists to leisurely walk the shores and take in the surroundings. To come here would definitely be getting away from the crowds of the popular attractions in the area. As I entered the community, the entrance sign stated that there's a golf course, restaurant and ALL OUTSIDE VISITORS ARE WELCOME! So, although I was feeling a little unsettled that I was entering what appeared to be a private community...the entrance sign reassured me to come in and start exploring. And btw, it's free to do this. I did park on a side street though I believe I would have been better served leaving my car at the clubhouse lot so as to not look like an intruder. Regardless...I did walk through someone's backyard (which felt a little uncomfortable, lol) and then the scenery opened up. I wasn't expecting this but there were undisturbed views of the Howe Sound waters along with the hazy looking mountains set in the distance...and this for being around 5pm in late September. Because of the sun's strong appearance for the afternoon time, I'd suggest coming here in the morning, but this is just my opinion. While here...all you have to do is walk the paved pathway at your own pace and enjoy the setting. Depending on which way you go, you will have residential homes to one side of you, but still...the atmosphere was pleasant and you don't have to work hard to capture worthwhile photographs. You can venture off the walkway and reach the waters if you care to do so. Though, I didn't see anyone swimming. There was an inlet section where a few boats had lowered their anchors. And it was at this inlet area that (from my pov) featured the biggest highlight of Furry Creek Beach...and that being the observation platform. You can sit down here at a few of the benches and soak up the surroundings. There's a flagpole raised with the Canadian flag waving from above. Also, there's a small island centered in the middle of Howe Sound that acts as the focal point to the lookout experience. I'd suggest grabbing a picture with the island, Canadian flag, Howe Sound and mountains within one photogenic moment. At the very least, take 15 minutes to appreciate the scenery. In total, I walked 1 mile of the pathway before returning towards my car. Finally, although there is so much to see and do along Sea to Sky Highway going from Vancouver to Squamish to Whistler...if you feel like getting away from the popular attractions and crowds of the area, then I'd recommend stopping for a little bit here at Furry Creek Beach and Lookout.

Rated as a moderately challenging hike I'd say Eagle Bluffs is a great hike if you want to start…read moretraining your body for other hikes at Cypress like St. Marks Summit. At an estimated elevation gain of over 400m it has a great effort to reward ratio. The first 2kms are always talked about because it's switchbacks that are just dirt and loose rock. I've done this hike a handful of times and i'm always blown away by how many people I see wearing sandals and jeans. Good on them for being able to do it, but I don't recommend it, especially the sandals. The switchbacks on the way down will kill your feet and knees. Also, as much as I love dogs, I'm an owner myself, I wouldn't bring mine with me on this hike. It's just too taxing on their body, especially if it's a hot day. I saw a poor shitzhu yesterday panting like crazy on the way up. The trail can also get very busy and having a dog on a leash can cause a bit of a traffic and also make parts of the hike harder for you. Logistics: - Parking is at Cypress Bowl. - Bathrooms can be found at the lodge at the parking lot - You don't need a pass this year. - You want to take the Black Mountain Trail (aka The Baden Powell). Not the Howe Sound Crest Trail; this will take you to Bowen Lookout, St. Marks Summit, and beyond.

We hiked up to the Lookout point and the view was stunning. Worth the uphill hike. It is rocky terrain and lots of stairs so if you were not good with those things I would not suggest this hike. I would highly suggest some snacks to sit at the top of lookout and enjoy while you look at the stunning view.

Many tourists, families, and climbers crowd the park. We just took a quick, flat walk around Browning Lake. Other things to do at Murrin Park: - Swim in the lake - Picnic by the lake - Hike the Murrin Park Loop Trail - Go fishing Murrin Provincial Park was a quick stop along our Sea to Sky Highway road trip.
