We didn't plan on taking Seaborne Airlines but when we missed our connecting flight from Miami to St. Thomas, we were forced to rebook Seaborne Airlines as our connection in San Juan to St. Thomas and we weren't happy about it, mostly due to the inconvenience of having a second connection and also the size of the plane for Seaborne Airlines was freaking us out. The San Juan airport is weird as heck, get your coffee right as soon as you get off your flight because once you head towards Seaborne Airlines there is absolutely nothing around whatsoever. The boarding area is odd, you feel like you are in a back room of the airport. First, they called us by name and we walked into this hallway, then we all had to walk outside and line up in front of one another, we felt like we were in jail, no joke. It was the weirdest thing I'd ever experienced. Then we walked one in front of another outside, through an overhang, down the runway a bit until we finally met up with our plane. Seriously? Why can't the plane just be at the gate like normal flights? Once on the plane it felt old, to be honest I was freaking out a bit. Our flight attendant was not friendly, he meant business and I did breathing exercises and kept telling myself it was only a 35 minute flight, it was only a 35 minute flight.
We weren't able to keep any bags at our feet, everything had to be stowed away. The take off was fine and the actual flight itself went smoothly. The views were beautiful but again, the flight attendant was stoic and we felt like we were in trouble, it wasn't enjoyable. Anyways, landing was fine but again, when we arrived to the airport in St. Thomas it was as if we were being yelled at by the people working for Seaborne. "Stand here, don't move, don't walk, wait for me here, don't go inside." I'm sorry, pretty sure I'm on vacation not being punished. The process of getting our bags was strange when we arrived in St. Thomas, it was a free for all, see your bag and grab it. I'd fly Seaborne Airlines again simply because it may be the only option but definitely wouldn't choose it if there was another choice. read more
