Honestly prefer this ER over any other or Urgent Care. Been a few times, always quick and attentive. 5

Had easily the most unprofessional and uncomfortable visit I've ever had in my entire life tonight…read more I saw Nurse Practitioner Shauna McNiff and she is easily the worst healthcare provider I've ever personally experienced. I was there due to an upper respiratory infection which I am super prone to getting. She even said she remembered me from my last visit a few months ago. The whole tone of the visit changed when she asked me if I had the latest COVID 19 vaccine and I said "no". She then asked me why, not that it was any of her business but I told her that I wouldn't have even gotten the first one if my job didn't require it. I took a Covid test, having been exposed to someone with Covid not too long ago. She asked me how long my symptoms had been going on, I said 3 days. For me, if I don't get antibiotic in me quickly, I end up on nebulizers and in the hospital. Why? I don't know, just the way I am. Anyways, she looked in my ear and saw that it was red in addition to me coughing up green phlegm. She refused to give me an antibiotic, claiming that it was "still a virus". I tried explaining to her that my body works differently, I am super prone to these things, I know if I don't fix this now its going to get much worse. She said if you get too many antibiotics when you really need them later in life they may not work. I said I am aware of this and likely am already screwed due to how many of these things I get every year (between 6-8 per year). She still refused, and said "I don't come to work to be spoken to like this by patients". This caught me entirely off guard. Despite disagreeing with her decision, I was never rude or disrespectful to her. I said "I don't know what I said that triggered you, but"- she then interrupted me and said "you are the one who seems triggered! I explained to you why I am not giving it to you and you're not listening to me. I don't come to work to be spoken to like this by patients". I then said, I don't know what she has going on in her life but I'm not taking out my personal stuff on her and she needs to do the same. I have every right to disagree with her and ask her questions without her getting frustrated with me. I am the sick one! Will never be back here again. Utterly disgusted by the confrontational, unprofessional and honestly heartless "care" I just received. Nurse practitioner Shauna McNiff needs to find another line of work because clearly as she passive aggressively stated, she views patients as beneath her and they are never to question her, otherwise they will be treated like this. Apparently it's amateur hour over there!

I visited the minute clinic on May 12th with a sore Throat and cough. I was told it was most likely…read morea virus and I should be fine to work. A Rapid Strep test was run and was negative. I continued to have a sore Throat for several days, so I made a doctor's appointment. They sent a Strep Culture test, and finally learned on May 22nd that I did in fact have Bacterial Strep Throat, now on antibiotics 3x a day for 10 days. Very long process of being sick and I wish the culture had been sent upon my first visit, but I didn't know to request that. It's good information to have that the Rapid Strep Test is not reliable.
