I went there 2 days ago with complaints of, eye discharge causing blurred vision and not being able to open it when I woke up, vomiting, fever, nausea, body aches, and a small cut on my hand that I just wanted to make sure wasn't infected. The intake nurse first off set the blood pressure checker that goes around your arm and pumps up, to high or something and it was about to burst off my arm until she finally realized it was hurting more than it normally should, says oops realizing her mistake. She turns it down and does it again in my lower arm, and doesn't even put the thing that goes on your finger back on so I don't know how she read anything. And says "looks good". Then I get moved to another room, after I had told them what I was there for they decide to check me for flu and strep, wich I had 0 signs of either but for some reason I said sure. (Never again) so she does flu test up the nose, nothing crazy doesn't hurt. Then she does the strep test and jabs the back of my throat and I almost threw up in her face. But you know I didn't make a big deal out of it I knew it would hurt a little. And no surprise they came back negative. So she comes back in and says I have conjunctivitis and "some sort of stomach virus" and I thought well that's weird catching 2 things at the same exact time. Quick google search showed I had every symptom of Adenovirus. Don't know how they couldn't figure that but it was clear as day. But anyway after the visit a few hours later my throat started hurting and progressively has gotten worse to the point where I haven't ate since the night off the urgent care trip, and now my throat is so red and closed up to the size of about a pencil. I don't know what they did to my throat but I'm extremely upset about this, because at this point the virus is about out of me and now I'm just dealing with the worst throat ache of my entire life and I'm starving I want to eat but just can't because of this. Mind you I had 0 issue with my throat before my visit, and I was sick for about 2 and 1/2 days before the visit.so it's been 2 days now no eating (and very hard to drink anything, and all they gave me was a prescription for conjunctivitis eye drops and ointment for my hand. Terrible post experience.

I don't know how the nurse missed my vein . Took her 3 attempts .

Convenient to schedule online, no wait to be seen. Only urgent care place around that had xray technician on staff.

If you value your loved one's life, do not bring them to Anna Jaques Hospital…read more My son was in a severe dirt bike accident. He came in with obvious head trauma, bleeding from his head, difficulty breathing, and extreme confusion. Instead of urgent care, we were met with indifference. After 15-20 minutes of him sitting there in crisis, I went to the desk and asked when they were going to admit him. The staff flat-out told me: "There's nothing we can do for him." Let that sink in. A hospital ER telling a parent there's nothing they can do for a critically injured teenager. Only after I called 911 from the waiting room to try to get an ambulance to a real hospital did they finally admit him. Once inside the ER, things only got worse. A nurse was scrubbing his face so roughly he was crying from the pain. My son, who hours earlier had crashed his dirt bike, lifted it off himself, kick-started it, and drove it out of the woods with a dislocated vertebrae, a broken nose, and a lacerated liver, whispered to me through tears: "Please keep her away from me." That's how brutal their "care" was. It then took three hours before they even performed a CT scan. That scan revealed what was obvious from the start: severe injuries and internal bleeding. At that point, the doctors immediately put him on a med flight to Boston because he never should have been left untreated here in the first place. This hospital gambled with my son's life. Their delay and outright negligence could have cost him everything. If you live in this area, don't make the mistake we did--drive straight to Boston. Anna Jaques is nothing more than a dangerous holding pen pretending to be a hospital. Zero compassion. Zero urgency. Zero competence. Anna Jaques Hospital is a disgrace.

Had easily the most unprofessional and uncomfortable visit I've ever had in my entire life tonight…read more I saw Nurse Practitioner Shauna McNiff and she is easily the worst healthcare provider I've ever personally experienced. I was there due to an upper respiratory infection which I am super prone to getting. She even said she remembered me from my last visit a few months ago. The whole tone of the visit changed when she asked me if I had the latest COVID 19 vaccine and I said "no". She then asked me why, not that it was any of her business but I told her that I wouldn't have even gotten the first one if my job didn't require it. I took a Covid test, having been exposed to someone with Covid not too long ago. She asked me how long my symptoms had been going on, I said 3 days. For me, if I don't get antibiotic in me quickly, I end up on nebulizers and in the hospital. Why? I don't know, just the way I am. Anyways, she looked in my ear and saw that it was red in addition to me coughing up green phlegm. She refused to give me an antibiotic, claiming that it was "still a virus". I tried explaining to her that my body works differently, I am super prone to these things, I know if I don't fix this now its going to get much worse. She said if you get too many antibiotics when you really need them later in life they may not work. I said I am aware of this and likely am already screwed due to how many of these things I get every year (between 6-8 per year). She still refused, and said "I don't come to work to be spoken to like this by patients". This caught me entirely off guard. Despite disagreeing with her decision, I was never rude or disrespectful to her. I said "I don't know what I said that triggered you, but"- she then interrupted me and said "you are the one who seems triggered! I explained to you why I am not giving it to you and you're not listening to me. I don't come to work to be spoken to like this by patients". I then said, I don't know what she has going on in her life but I'm not taking out my personal stuff on her and she needs to do the same. I have every right to disagree with her and ask her questions without her getting frustrated with me. I am the sick one! Will never be back here again. Utterly disgusted by the confrontational, unprofessional and honestly heartless "care" I just received. Nurse practitioner Shauna McNiff needs to find another line of work because clearly as she passive aggressively stated, she views patients as beneath her and they are never to question her, otherwise they will be treated like this. Apparently it's amateur hour over there!

I continued to have a sore Throat for several days, so I made a doctor's appointment. They sent a Strep Culture test, and finally learned on May 22nd that I did in fact have Bacterial Strep Throat, now on antibiotics 3x a day for 10 days. Very long process of being sick and I wish the culture had been sent upon my first visit, but I didn't know to request that. It's good information to have that the Rapid Strep Test is not reliable.
