Truly a "diamond in the rough." Such a cute oceanside town with everything a tourist may need. From a wine bar to arcade, and restaurants like Koko's and Rising Tide Tavern, plus many shops to peruse, there's something for everyone. Be sure to check out the Gnome Trail, Historic Dorothy Anderson Cabin and Old Cedar Stump House.

It's hard not to walk through the town square of Seabrook and not think that you've somehow been transported into Stepford, Connecticut, but fortunately the people who live and work here aren't anything like the wooden or robotic women of that fictional town. Far from it, in fact: everyone we interacted with, from toy store to tavern, was exceptionally friendly, welcoming and warm...which is more than can be said about the weather! Being situated on the central Washington coast, Seabrook is rarely ever going to be a balmy, tropical paradise (well, unless climate change performs some miracles later this century), but it is still something that has to be seen to be believed: picture-perfect village springing up out of the ground, virtually in the middle of nowhere, manifesting only due to the will and diligence of a single, hard-working couple, the Roloffs. Without their vision, Seabrook would literally not exist. Something like 80% of the houses in the village are rentals, so the actual population of Seabrook is pretty small. But for those who have chosen to call it home, Seabrook is as close to idyllic as one can imagine a town could be. Over the last 20 years, it has expanded to include additional neighborhoods, two public swimming pools, a Montessori school, multiple shops, boutiques, restaurants, taverns, an arcade, a fantastic local market, and more that I am sure I am forgetting. There are also miles of walkable trails, many of them forested and, of course, that amazing beach, with its always-accessible view from anywhere in town square. It's clean. It's safe. It's the American Dream as pictured on a postcard. It's Seabrook. And there's nothing like it anywhere.

This village makes me think of a movie set. Everything is the same age, style design and color scheme. Streets seem a little narrow. Walked around just to get a feel for the village.

The chair is located near the center of town. It is large and can fit a few people for a selfie.

We did a day trip to see Seabrook. We went several years ago. Boy, has it changed. The town is very clean, with several restaurants and a beautiful beach. We shopped at the market. Took some amazing picture of the sunny, amazing beach. They have several shopping stores as well. It has some cute white bench to sit on around the town. The trail to the beach is not for everyone, but it is so pretty. Beach below were a few volleyball nets. I didn't see any cars on the beach, and access is not from those in wheelchairs or strollers. I can only advise of the main entrance only, but I'd see other locations to walk down the stairs to the beach. Rental cottages and houses along the trail and walk were so adorable. Everyone was friendly, including restaurant and store staff. The road to the stairs to the walk down to the beach has a cross walk with lights and flags to cross safely. The large chair in picture is located near the crosswalk. Warm sunny PNW day makes the experience unforgettable. Can't wait to go back.

    Beautiful sunset

Theres a couple restaurants, bakery, shops, and market in town for your convenience. You can even rent bikes, go down to the beach, or go on a walk on the trail. There offer many homes to rent out as well! Our house was had a beach theme and we couldn't be more happy. There were three rooms ( king, queen, and four bunk beds), hot tub, and fire pit! The house was fully furnished for every use. We loved having the option to cool or dine. I love how quiet the neighborhood was. No one bothered us... we bothered no one. It was GREAT. Only downfall was that we showed up to the house with bags of trash that seem to have been forgotten and raccoons got to it. But josh who was on night duty helped us clean it out. He was very nice. Check in and checking out was easy. We didn't have to talk or see no one because a code to the door was provided. Instructions for the home was sent couple days prior to arrival. As much as I love this place I wouldn't be able to stay here as often as we'd like due to the fact that it's very expensive to stay here. So this is a treat if we ever get to do this again. I recommend trying this place out if you haven't already. Even if you just come down for a day trip. It is on the way towards ocean shore so if you can't find anything to do in town you can always head down that way.

We've visited Seabrook six times over the years, but unfortunately this will be our last…read more The main reason we booked this trip was because my daughter's only request was a rental with a hot tub. I specifically used Seabrook's website filters to search for homes that were available on our dates and included a hot tub. When we checked in today, we were surprised to find there wasn't one. I immediately called Guest Services, expecting they would help resolve what appeared to be a booking or website error. Instead, I was essentially blamed for the mistake. I explained exactly how I had searched for the property, but the representative, who identified himself as Tylor, said that without proof there was nothing he could do. I work in marketing and sales, so I understand that websites and booking systems can occasionally have errors. What disappointed me most wasn't the mistake--it was the complete lack of effort to make it right. When guests are paying premium prices, customer service should focus on finding a solution, not assigning blame. To make matters worse, Tylor told me there were no other homes available with hot tubs, so moving us wasn't an option. Out of curiosity, I checked Seabrook's website myself while on the phone and found several available homes that listed hot tubs. Whether that was another website error or inaccurate information from Guest Services, I don't know. Either way, it only added to the frustration. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was told that Tylor was the supervisor. We've always enjoyed Seabrook, but this experience completely changed our perception. Mistakes happen. Great customer service is measured by how a company responds when they do. Unfortunately, Seabrook failed us on both the booking experience and the customer service, and they've lost our family's business.

We were looking for a cozy cottage for a weekend getaway to the coast, and the Periwinkle cottage…read moreat Pacific Beach & Beyond was one of the most affordable options. We also didn't have too many options - President's Day weekend books up fast - and this seemed to have most of what we were looking for. The cottage is one of four closely placed units on a lot. As in, the view from one of the windows is directly across to another cabin's front door. Despite this, it was pretty quiet and we didn't see much of the other occupants. That could be different in summer, when doors are open and people are outside more. Periwinkle is quite small, essentially a studio, so it's really best suited for one person or a couple. The bedroom area is separated from the main room only by sheer curtains, and the windows have venetian blinds and no curtains, so there's a LOT of light in the mornings. It was very cold when we checked in, but quickly warmed up with the heater and gas fireplace. There is a tea kettle, coffee maker, and basic kitchen supplies and utensils, though probably not enough to do serious cooking. You can see the water from the windows, and the beach is just a few blocks away. The decor isn't to my taste - bright green and blue with lots of art glass and wicker - but it's fine. Now for the weird stuff. - There is NO WIFI in this unit, even though other units come with wifi - their suggestion is that you go to the espresso stand a block away. This wouldn't have been such an issue except that we had no phone coverage either, so it was impossible to look things up, get maps, call for reservations, etc. Or, you know, call the management office in case of an emergency. - A lot of things are semi-broken or poorly maintained (missing adjustment rod on blinds, missing heater knob in bathroom, DVD/VHS player missing remote and only kinda works). There's no dresser or suitcase rack to store clothes, just a small wardrobe by the door that's already full of cleaning supplies. The headboard is like a picket fence with the tops sawed down - I don't know why it's even there, because it's not decorative (you can't see it when the bed is made) and it's dangerous with sharp edges right next to your head! The shower curtain is way too long and trails a lot of fabric into the tub, which gets in the way and never fully dries. And so on. - There are very few services or really anything nearby, other than the aforementioned espresso stand and a couple of convenience stores. You basically have a 20-minute drive to Ocean Shores if you want a restaurant, bar, grocery store, or anything else. That might be a plus for some! But I don't think we realized how little there was to do nearby. Overall, it worked, and it's probably better in warm weather, when there's more to do outside and you're not constantly inside noticing all the broken stuff. But I personally wouldn't stay at the Periwinkle again or recommend it to friends.

The description of the path to the dunes said it was 200 feet. We measured it to be 1,000 feet. The path needed work - railroad ties every so often with gravel in between the ties. Vegetation growing over the path. A person that is compromised would be stranded as it is a VERY difficult climb back to the cabin. The ramp leading to the front door needs railings. The floors are uneven and soft. If the carpet was removed, one would probably see rotten wood. The screen door latch to the deck did not work. Needs a new locking mechanism. Railings on the deck were loose. No gutters, and boards from the roof were rotting. TV is basic. VERY few channels. NO wifi. Bathroom is too small, shower head is too low. Kitchen has very small amount of counters to work on. One drawer of utensils crammed inside. Lighting is poor. Very difficult to see/read at night. Deck flooring is uneven, and tripped on it. Foundation is on cinder blocks that have wedges of wood to level the home. The owner does not put one cent into maintenance, or upgrades. The only thing good about our experience was the view. We packed up and left early the morning of the 8th as it was so depressing, and not at all what was represented by the photos. It is shameful and unconscionable that Pacific Beach and Beyond would have this dump in their inventory.

I had searched don booking.com for a beach view and balcony and this unit came up. It had neither. Our second floor room boasted a sliver of a view of the ocean waves if we stood outside and the small kitchen had everything we needed for a weekend, nice fridge, oven, dishes, towels and dish soap. I can't imagine staying in a "normal" room without a kitchen again, the ability to make meals elevates this older building to a much higher rating. The third floor is an entire penthouse and would seem to be the most private with the least noise. There are only stairs so if you have handicap travelers book on the first floor. The office manager was really helpful and friendly and suggested a nearby museum as a must-see, which ended up being a highlight of the weekend. Can't wait to visit again, only this time we're moving on up, to the penthouse in the sky.
