Funny thing is, I woke up this morning and knew it was gonna be a beautiful and hot day in the PNW. Hopped on a trail and walked 4 miles, grabbed an overnight bag (just in case), and sat in the car contemplating whether I drive east or west. A much needed ocean therapy was calling my name and I drove west. Ended up in Ocean Shores. I left my town due to how crazy busy it would be with parades and a carnival, not knowing what's in store here. A pleasant surprise to see the streets lined with families. Anyway, got to shop, enjoy the festivities, and more importantly spend time walking the beach. Gorgeous day! Took a chance, walked in, asked if there were any vacancies, and they had the one. It was a king bedroom with a partial view... and I took it. It was an extremely spacious room, designed for wheelchair access. Even the shower had a ramp (pretty cool). Either way, the place was busy and packed like smoked clams in a tin can! The pool below me was busy as all get out, and people were coming and going... like me. Off for some shopping, parade activities, some local food and drinks, but more importantly... the Beach! Was able to sneak out and catch a beautiful sunset, as well. Gorgeous! There were some issues with the the faucets turning in the opposite direction for water temperature at the sinks, and it would be pretty nice if the Body Soap and Shampoo dispensers were labeled. They both looked identical... so who knows what I ended up using but at least it was clean! Other than that, some noisy tenants above me but whatever... hotel can't control kids jumping up and down and off the beds. At the end of a day, was able to chill after some much needed ocean therapy. All in all, a good experience for something so last minute. We arrived and checked in however there was a small issue with our room. Front desk was very accommodating and was able to fix the issue the next day. Our suite was really nice and had a great view; hotel also was very nice. Breakfast had a lot of choices and was good. The staff was always pleasant and friendly. The only reason for a decent score is the fact that when we arrived and complained about our room (it had a really weird smell) they ended up giving us a larger room. But we did it through a third party and were way over charged in the first place, so we basically got the room we paid for anyways. But again they didn't haven't to so 3 stars. The second reason would be the breakfast staff never once stopped moving. They continually refreshed the breakfast area when anything was out. We never had to wait long for a refill, and we never went without something just because we got there later. Really appreciated that! But the pool light kept popping out and so it felt unsafe for the kids to swim. That was a major bummer. But on a good end, the pool was super warm and the hot tub was almost too hot! Which I can appreciate. Overall the lobby was nice but the halls and rooms were just a little dirty. Everything felt a little stick and the carpet was just kind of yucky. The elevator hasn't been inspected in a while (literally their inspection is past due on the form in the elevator) so just a little run down in general. Staff rarely seemed happy or greeting. Even when we called down they sounded annoyed to be bothered. We probably won't stay again, but it could have been worse too haha. read more

My wife and I stayed here before when it was called the morning star hotel and said we would never stay here again. Well, they have not only renovated some of the building but, they have renovated the staff and this will be our go to hotel from now on.the staff was more than exceptional than ever and there breakfast was second to none. So first of all , they changed our rooms 3 different fxcking times , 1st room was not the correct room we reserved ... second room had pee stains and other stains on bed sheets . And also did not have the pull out couch we requested.. we were hoping 3rd times a charm but we showed up to the third room ... the deadbolt WOULD NOT LOCK THE WAS A GAP IN THE DOOR AND YOU COULD SEE THE HALLWAY LIGHTS THROUGH THE DOOR , the fridge was on but not working and overheating creating aFIRE HAZARD. Which I mean is not surprising as they had a fire earlier this year. Not to mention the pull out for my children had a two by two foot pee stay and a big blood stain up by the head part their accommodation was to give us an extra sheet and blanket to cover it . !!! Pool was murky and looked like it had not been cleaned for awhile !!! Upon check out we expressed our concerns and were met with the "manager" telling us pretty much to fuck off and they were NOT GOING TO DO A DAMN THING ABOUT IT !!! WE WILL NOT BE STAYING HERE AGAIN AND WILL SPREAD THE WORD ! Room numbers are 116, 208 , and the last with nasty ass mattress and fire hazard fridge and non working lock was 218 for confirmation! read more

Air conditioner was broken. There were not enough towels and linens in the room. No blankets, sheets, or pillows for the pull out couch. I was told maintenance would fix it the air conditioner. They never came. They said they would give us a different room and did not. Then they said they would bring a portable air conditioner and never came back after that. I called the front desk multiple times during the night and no one ever answered the phone. We ended up packing up and leaving at 4 am because it was so hot in the room and we couldn't sleep. I was told that their system was down and I could not get a refund without the manager's authorization. I am still trying to get a refund. I have called the property 20+ times today. Either I get put on hold forever and then hung up on or they take a message and tell me the manager will call me back. When I just called again I was told the manager was gone for the day and no one one property has authority to refund me anything. The rooms are HUGE and underpriced. We spent over $300 a night for a dirty super small room at Ocean Paradise, then I booked at the BayVue and I can't even begin to describe how much better these rooms are! This is not a 5 Star Hotel. However, it is clean, reasonably priced, and close to the beach. There has been some "deferred maintenance." If guests don't report them they don't get fixed. For instance the shower curtain rod was coming off the wall. The breakfast was pretty much standard hotel fare. It was hot and plentiful. The staff at the front desk and the breakfast were helpful. They have a full breakfast with a decent selection. The coffee is not good, but there are quite a few decent drive through coffee stands that are very close by. We stayed in 3 different rooms. We reserved a junior suite. It had bedbug markings (I did not see the actual bugs) & the room was dirty. They moved us to the king suite, which was very nice of them. It was HUGE! It was dusty and had blood stains on the shower curtain and bathroom walls. The toilet had rust by the pipe and it was definitely worn out. We could only stay one night in this room because we only paid for the junior suite, so that's what they moved us back to. The junior suite had 2 queen beds. No bugs, just hair in between the sheets and the mattresses were very stained. The walls had finger prints and door knobs were sticky. The heater/air conditioner did not work. We stayed 2 nights in this room. They are in the process of remodeling the entire building. The areas that have been remodeled looks amazing! I'm hopeful that this remodel is what they need to make this hotel a clean & comfortable place to stay. read more

For the price, this hotel is a perfect family spot for enjoying ocean shores and also a fun hotel with indoor pool for the kiddos. Came here with my family and a bunch of nephews. Booked a junior suite and a double queen room to accommodate everyone. The suites are spacious and rooms are clean. The pools was open till 11 and lots of fun for kids. Easy walk to ocean and right across street from pizza place for added convenience. Where these folks excel is in their amazing complimentary breakfast buffet and their super friendly/accommodating staff. Hot breakfast including all the hotel favorites (waffle, eggs, sausage, bacon, bagels, toast, English muffins, fruit, yogurt, hot & cold cereal juice and of course coffee). Kids can go crazy here and the staff even helped us clean up a little accident in the dining area. They gave us late checkout for both rooms. We will definitely come back here next time we're in ocean shores. read more

We have stayed here a few times. The remodel is very nice! The lobby looks great. The elevator needs some fixing its a bit wonky. Rooms are nice, its nice that they have ac. But a fan would of been nice aswell. We had a beautiful view of the beach but the windows are so dirty w bird poop you didnt have a clear view. And the windows dont have screens, pretty alarming if you are hot in the room & have children. The jetted tub was nice but the towels are awful. Very rough, thin and so small. There was also sugar ants in the kitchen area. All in all its a nice place! read more

I used to love this place that's why we come back every year. This year is different: got the room the bathroom have wet towels on the floor, no bath towels at all. Bed needs some support and I have to watch myself overnight not to hit the wood that is supporting the bed. I asked for bath towels and the front desk made excuses. She's alone and will be right with us right away. Then, I went down to get the batch towels. More excuses. Looks like to me the housekeeping people just got up and left. Then, I discovered we are not alone. The door next to me and across me the same thing. I went back to the room but I was irritated. Every is not right with the room and the lady at the front desk keeps making excuses. Went downstairs again but she's going up she said getting me the towels. But she gave the guy the pool towels the shut the door to me. I stood outside the door very irritated. Then the lady said get the towel from the pool. She's not getting you and bath towels. You can be there for awhile. I ran to the pool and grab 3 towels. Then, she gave out of the room very rudely gave me the towel. It's not my fault that she's alone and everybody needs bath towel. I wanted to leave but my other half said it's late and let's check out tomorrow. He will drive home. This is VACATION from hell. read more

It's your typical 2-star hotel that used to be a Holiday Inn Express before losing its franchise for quality purposes. Half the room tags say Holiday inn express, half say morning glory (which brings about thoughts of adult-themed savagery). I won't go into all that. What got me is I spilled coffee on the steps up to my room and asked the maid who was nearby if she had a towel. She led me to the "kitchen" where she (a POC) asked the manager for a towel for me. The mgr (a white) asked her "are you just going to steal it?" For real. What a POS. read more

The good: The Room had was quite large. It had 2 TV's, a mini bar with fridge. The linens were clean and the beds were quite comfortable. The bad: Signs, signs, everywhere are signs. Paper signs are in the elevator, walls, rooms, even in the shower! (see pics). The TV's only had 30 channels of non-HD quality stretched to fit the screen. The ugly: This is possibly the most run down hotel I've ever stayed at. Its literally being held together with tape. I saw electrical tape, scotch tape, masking tape, duct tape holding everything together. Even the wallpaper in my room was stuck on with masking tape. There were also stains on the sofa and the carpet. The pool was downright frightening. Part of the pool tile has been covered over with bathroom tile making it very slick. I watched 2 children slip and fall on this. Luckily there were no injuries. This is the only place I've ever seen that allows children in the hot tub. There was even a baby in it! read more

We loved this hotel and will be back for sure! The service was top notch, the room was immaculate, and the hot breakfast was plentiful and really good. The owners take special care of their guests, greeting each as if they have known you for years. They keep the hotel running smoothly, the prices were reasonable, and everything was as clean as could be. We had a room on the second floor, very quiet, comfortable beds (a bit too soft for my daughter but I loved it), linens were very nice and clean, we asked for extra towels, cups and soap and got plenty. We even had a slice of a view of the ocean. Parking was a little tight at night but plenty of space outside the hotel near the street. Very close to restaurants, gift shops and all Ocean Shores has to offer at half the price of the resort/casino with none of the smoke! Great stay! read more

And in an age of COVID, if you are so afraid of the virus, stay home. Stop complaining about what business are doing just to try to survive, Karen. Holy smokes!!! Nice little hotel. Super close to the main beach entrance area. It's a bit dated but overall clean and kept up. The hot tub was green. And the parking lot was constantly full. Great place to stay. I believe the it's ran by a small family. Which is the only problem I had with the place due to trying to call and not getting a response 3 times to book a room. But once I showed up to get my room I noticed that the small family is working hard all over the place. The room I had was completely amazing with Ocean views. Loved being able to open the window and just listen the ocean crashing against the beach. Quiet place to sleep, no major noise anywhere. Our partial view of the ocean would have been nice, but I'm the window was covered in bird droppings (poop). No AC, which on a hot day, was miserable. BayVue Hotel use to be called Morning Glory. We stayed at hotel July 21, 2022. When checking in we asked if they had another room so my daughter and grandson could have their own room. We were told the hotel was full and there were no rooms available. When going into room we noticed the drapes were halfway off the hangers. Simple fix would be to climb on a chair and hook them back on right? Well being disabled this was not an option. The window screen was missing and the window was filthy on the inside and outside was full of bird crap. The inside of curtain had splats of something. The lamp in the room was broken at the top and it didnt even have a switch handle so no lights above table. The fridge is in a wood cabinet and the door would not shut and the freezer was so iced up it would not allow to be closed. The bedside table was filthy and there was dust and stuff behind on the floor. The beds were queens and someone wrote the date on the mattress 2014 and it was not good at all. The mirror in room had some sort of white rings on it. Not just a wipe off these were stained rings of some sort. The bathroom was the worst! Tile off the side of wall, looked at if it was black mold. Blood or something sickening on wall under light switch. Soap dish attached on shower was ready to fall off, soap kept falling off. The cuplinks on pipe in shower were off so the hole was exposed and the shower handle itself kept falling down. No cabinet under sink so you can see the pipes going into wall with big hole exposed and filthy, The pool chlorine was so strong you could smell it in the elevator. Parents of children in pool said they could smell on second floor and their kids came out of pool with burning eyes. Called front desk and was told that was not good and they would put a sign up to close pool that night. (I never checked to see if they did). In the morning they did have fresh water going in and it didnt smell as bad. My grandson was able to swim although some machine was plugged in about 6 feet from the pool itself so that was unsafe. Told grandson to get out. We did stay in room since it took so long to travel and there were no other hotels avail and was told there were no rooms at our hotel. I called when I got home to speak to management and was told they were not in. I called again and was told they would not be in until morning so I called. She was not in again. I called later and was able to talk to her. I explained all the issues and she offered me a 10% discount the next time I came! She refused to even refund just one night. When asked if I could speak to her Supervisor or owner she said she did not know that information. Refused to give it to me. I looked up the Grays County Assessors website and was able to get owners number. I contacted him and he was very rude, did not care at all. I will Never stay at this hotel again! We were three friends planning a couple nights at the beach. We were looking for an ocean FRONT room and thought we had booked that here. We booked the junior suite ocean view room. What we were expecting is not what we got. Actually, it wasn't the hotel's fault. It was ours. The room had an angle (or partial) view of the ocean but was not a full ocean view. We were told it was the best view for what we needed. So, we were a little disappointed but like I said, it was our fault for not assuming it was what we imagined. The room was clean, beds were comfortable and was everything we really needed. In the room was a Keurig coffee pot, refrigerator and microwave. We also had a sitting room with sofa and TV. There was no complaints on the room but just the view. This hotel serves a hot breakfast. I can't compliment them enough on the breakfast they served. That alone would keep us coming back. From waffles, to eggs, sausage, bacon and fruit, it was all good. Location was perfect too and staff extremely friendly. read more

DONT STAY HERE! We had a reservation and once we pulled up to the property, we couldn't believe the shape of the building. It is completely covered in bird poop, the seagulls have completely overtaken the exterior. Upon entering, the person at the front desk wasn't wearing a mask. We wandered around just to see what the interior looked like and were not at all impressed. The carpet is stained, the curtains are dirty and there's a terrible smell. We walked past a room being cleaned to see the housekeeper replenishing room items not wearing gloves. In this time of COVID, extra sanitation is so important. We canceled IMMEDIATELY and were luckily able to to find accommodations elsewhere. read more

This is one of those, quiet, unassuming hotels that you don't expect to find in Ocean Shores. It's a small, family run business, and you are truly treated like family here. We had an ocean-front view on the third floor. They provided plenty of towels, and, get this, a Keurig with Starbucks coffee! If you didn't want the Starbucks, their house blend was really decent as well! Free breakfast every morning was a definite plus - from fruit to waffles to eggs to bacon - this was a traveler's dream. It was a short walk to the beach from the hotel, as well. The ONLY problem we encountered during our stay was an elevator outage for about 30 minutes (and Mom's on crutches, of course), so she waited it out rather than try to break her other leg getting down three flights of stairs. I'm more than happy to come back - my family loved it here! read more

Really glad to have discovered this hotel! The rooms were pretty large, and had a great view of the ocean. The staff were welcoming, and checking in and out was fast and easy. The breakfast bar in the morning was great; bacon, eggs, cereal, yogurt, waffles. There was a windstorm the night that we stayed, and I slept through the entire thing. So quiet and peaceful! We'll have to make ocean shores a routine now. read more

Where to begin? We reserved this room through expedia before reading the reviews. A junior suite for 3 adults and 2 kids. After reading the reviews, we frantically looked for a different room in ocean shores, but everywhere was booked up. So we hoped and prayed that it would be bearable. Upon arrival, I was hopeful, as the lobby is very clean and nice. The room was definitely no frills, but it was large and seemed clean enough, at first. The beds were the first red flag. There were no comforters, just old gross duvets with a flat sheet on top, and one thin small blanket on top of that. Weird. When my kids pulled the fitted sheet off one corner, the mattress was DISGUSTING and had a date written on it, 2013. Yikes. I found a clump of hair in the bed. This morning right before we just packed up and left at 7 am, I found a MOUSE TURD in one of the beds. Then the bathroom! The bathtub was jetted, which we were excited about, but the jets were SO FILTHY I couldn't even bathe my kids in that bathtub! And the shower head was equally disgusting. Oh and the breakfast! I can't understand the great reviews, I really can't. The food is set up in a hallway, along a wall. Everything is filthy. I mean, I was down there right at 7:30 and everything looked unwashed, fingerprints in everything even the juice containers and cereal dispenser. In the middle of covid! The food itself looked fine. Now on to the domestic violence! We stayed two nights. The first night, in the room directly above us, there was a kid literally running back and forth ALL NIGHT until after midnight. When he would get to the one end, the light which didn't work with the light switch would flicker! On night two, the running escalated to a domestic violence altercation between the man and the kid then the man and woman, which lasted HOURS! Yelling, crying, what sounded like the woman being thrown repeatedly into the wall. This started at about 8:00. I called the front desk and the woman working told me she would call them. About a half hour later, when it got worse and more banging and pleading from the woman, I called the office again and told the woman working that I felt the police should be called. When another half hour of violence that we could clearly hear every bit of passed, we called the police, who told us to let them know of it escalated. Uh, okay... I don't think the police ever even showed up. And no one at the hotel intervened. The insanity continued on until about 1:00 am. We just left at 7 am. Never again!! I am traumatized by my stay at the Morning Glory Hotel. I am washing everything we had in that room in hot water because I would not be the least bit surprised if that place has bed bugs. I feel itchy just thinking about that place. read more

I picked this place for the oceanfront. After going into town, this is pretty much dependent on the nearby casino. Not much people checking out the beach with the parking lot full at the casino. Hotel used to be a Holiday Inn Express and it's run by Chinese couple under GuestHouse Inn. AAA rate of $84 for 2 queen room is hard to beat. Rooms are super comfy with lots of space. Room already shows some wear and tear from previous guests. With a lot of signage, you can tell couple have difficulties to run this property with occasional bad guests. Old TV and coffee maker that was missing tube to dispense boiling water into pot. Breakfast is a bit skimpy but from signage it makes sense. Prevent waste by serving just in time. Unfortunately, lady is also front desk person so have to wait when she is done refilling breakfast buffet. Cute Hello Kitty gifts at their gift shop:) read more

We came to the hotel to celebrate our 10 yr wedding anniversary since we weren't able to back in August. When we got here the lobby area was super nice so I was excited. We get to the room and it's nothing like we expected their where no towels the Tv didn't work and nothing was plugged in (that part was fine) we waited a little bit and she brought these "towels" upstairs. 2 thin towels that there extremely rough and not very big. The bed was very soft like back pain soft. The last thing is the kids that where running upstairs most of the night and the not wearing of masks in common areas. First of all I booked 2 rooms online. When we checked in the receptionist didn't notice at first that I reserved 2 rooms. Once she did further checking she seen it, receptionist was not very friendly. We ended up with rooms on different floors. there was a wait to get on the only elevator " the whole stay" and we couldn't use the stairs due to construction going on. 6:45am kids running and stomping up and down the hallway in front of my room yelling even the people in our other room "The floor under us" were woke up from it. Our toilet was clogged and the coffee pot had slimy stuff in the water resivoir. "Just Nasty". Used masks and trash all over in the parking lot. We have stayed here before and really liked it so we came back, however after this stay we will not be back. read more

Oh where to begin? Checking in, the young lady behind the desk was curt & we had no personal interaction whatsoever. Once we reached our room, a surly male guest shuffled by in the hallway without a mask. Turned on the tv which promptly said "no signal" on the screen. I figured out which remote of the 2 provided selected the "input" which got to the right screen, and the channel list said TBA (no shows listed) for our entire visit. Went back down to the car to get some items, on the way back an unmasked man walked across the lobby in full view of the unpleasant young clerk and entered the elevator. No mask enforcement. I opted for the stairs. Setting my bag down in the room, I noticed a Ruffles Potato Chip from a prior guest on the floor by the table. Nice. Then in the middle of the night, the toilet clogged. Called the front desk at 8 the next morning & they said they would be right on it. 5 minutes later, a knock, & when I answered an obviously flustered & busy young lady said "you need this?", handed me a plunger with a plastic bag around the bottom & rushed off. I gingerly unwrapped the plunger which no doubt had been trapped in the bag with the filth from the last clogged guest toilet and went to work. The plunger bent & would not work but with enough fiddling I got the toilet unclogged. The kitchen, hot tub and pool are open but we won't be eating here or ever staying here again. If you come here, bring your own vacuum cleaner and plunger. Oh, they updated the lobby recently so there's that. If they don't enforce the mask mandate, don't remove guest food from the room floors and have guests to do their plumbing work & touch tools that have touched other guests' feces, I don't even feel safe being here, much less eating here. read more

I appreciated the service of Jesse, Young and Charlie.. and hope to see them again soon. I loved how clean and brightly lit everything was here :) it allowed for a safe space for my heart to rest in during the holidays. I stayed a total of three days, and enjoyed it more than permanent houses I've been in. The breakfast is great, and it is by a heavenly beach! We got the "King Suite" and from the first night it's been bug central. Bug guts on the wall very first night we stayed. Each time we come back to the room it's 7-8 more flying ants in our stuff , in our bed, in the bathroom. Not very impressed at all. read more

PROS: The room was pretty clean. We loved the junior suite, having an area separate from the beds to hang out. The cable choice was very good. The TV in the room with beds did not work. Their breakfast included the make your own waffle machines. This was the only thing for breakfast that we felt comfortable with (see cons). CONS: Ocean view does not mean you can see the ocean! It is so far away that it is more like 'see how the color changes? That's the ocean'. The partial view is much worse. Since Washington state 'opened up', it is hard to find someone wearing a mask. This thing is NOT over, so we continue wearing our masks. Breakfast: The muffins were in the open, no cover of any kind. The hot items had a very small plastic thing in front, but people could help themselves. We did not take anything except the waffles, because we could make them ourselves. Parking: Bad! If you park at the rear of the building, you still have to walk all the way to the front and use the front door. Also, bird poop everywhere, even on the cars! Noise: LOTS of thumping noises from the others rooms (kids) until 2am! Could not tell which room it was coming from. Bugs? Something bit me all over my legs. NOTE: I always wanted to stay here, when it was the Morning Glory. It seems to have been taken over by a new company, and the 'feeling' when you walk in the door is gone.
