this place used to have lobster tails. last three times i got there (1hr drive) the selection was terrible. the store rep said the truck didn't come yet. i done with this place i asked for my fresh salmon to be cut in half and vacuum sealed in individual bags. (at $.75/seal) the tool put both cuts into one bag. unbelievable.. by the way, Whole foods have the same variety, better quality and lower prices! read more

The service, selection, and quality is unmatched to any seafood in the gta. Thursday arrive fresh flown in from Portugal great fish, Scorpion, Lapins, Sardines and more. Plus they have a beautiful top notch produce section. One stop shop for a perfect dinner party. read more

It was my first time visiting this location and it was quite extensive for selection. I went in looking for sashimi grade items. One of the expert staff provided me a personal tour of alternative product and shared processes of how the fish was processed. I can see why someone might regularly shop here because the staff are very personal and approachable and share a real passion for their expertise in seafood. Can't wait to return. read more

We have been shopping at Seafood Depot for years and everytime we go in, Ransford is always there to lend a helping hand. He is so knowledgeable and great at suggestions for what seafood to purchase and he even gives me recipes that have been in his family for generations.I just learned a new cod dish. He is so courteous and he takes the time to assist us with our needs. People like Ransford makes us come back year after year and he remembers us, which is so personal. I came to Seafood Depot looking for fresh seafood! Me dreaming of tanks and tanks of fresh uni, crabs, fish and other exotic ocean beings that I might want to try... (I was browsing the website..) but all I found were cleaned and filleted seafood packed with ice and freezers of seafood.... Surprisingly I was more intrigued by aisle and aisle of Kitchen wares includes Catering Line, Maxwell Williams, Trudeau and others. I was checking out moka coffeemakers, Imported Italian groceries (buy individually or by bulk), pots and pans, kitchen gadgets and much much more..... Love the selections here, a lot of the items I could not find at Kitchenplus, Home Outfitters or other big box kitchenware stores! Fresh Mussels for $1.99/lb was pretty good too. .... I will definitely be back to shop for more and spend a while to browse around! read more

I bought two packages of salted salmon caviar ( $100 each) and salted herring( package 400 gr). Caviar has a strong chemical smell. Herring is deteriorated. Please be advise regarding that products. I'm going to return them back. But according other people reviews it is impossible. read more

I've been buying seafood from these guys for years. A few days ago, bought fresh shrimp, had a taste and smell, noted by three different people. Called the store manager, she stated that's the taste of wild caught shrimp, tasted and smelled of medicine, best description i can come up with. I've had a lot of shrimp before, from them as well, first time I notice it. Bought a whole walleye, it was gutted and prepared at the fish counter, wrapped and given to me. At home, noticed the fish had a scent, of a fish that's been on the counter for a while. In the past had lots of great experience there, this was a pretty big disappointment, bill was north of 300 bucks, no problem, as long as it's good quality. The manager on the phone was not helpful after the fact. read more

This place is crazy. A cross between Bruno's, Costco, Canadian Tire and a seafood processing plant. An amazing selection of fresh seafood. Be prepared for an industrial setting and really odd customer service. But it works! read more

Cant beat the price for frozen jumbo shrimps They have a huge fresh seafood collection... that changes daily I did find it hard to find oysters as advertised... and asking the workers there... their english is not great to understand each other. Espresso beans is a good selection... being that it seems to be an Italian ran business. Nic knacks to finish off my shopping experience here. Great service and excellent quality here! They're selection is amazing hard to find items can be found here, like fresh sea urchin roe! This place beats out diana, waterfront by a lot! They even have fresh produce, and lots of Italian grocery products you could even do you weekly shopping here! Definitely will be coming back again and again read more

I was disappointed with Seafood Depot. I had expected a large selection of common and uncommon fish and seafood and instead found that they have most fish and clams that one would find elsewhere. Perhaps there is little demand for anything more exotic? As it is, you will not find anything here that you would not at a good supermarket or at St. Lawrence market. The prices were not any better (or worse) than anywhere else either. I bought some scallops which were quite fresh and tasty. Also on offer salmon, halibut, tuna, clams, shrimp and sea urchin. A larger selection belongs to frozen goods, Italian cookware and Christmas knickknacks like one would find on the shelf at grandma's house. Ample parking, very ugly fluorescent lighting that jars the eyes alongside no attempt at making the warehouse attractive and an even uglier name for a place. Somehow I do not want to have anything edible from a place that is called 'depot.' read more

WOW, The best scallops you can buy in this part of the country. They are dried so when you cook them at hi temp for 30 seconds aside to brown them no water comes out. VERY VERY GOOD!! Also bought fresh oysters, squid, pickerel and Halibut. Great quality . FYI , I drove 2 hours to this place, well worth the drive. read more

I went there for the first time and was a little disappointed with the selection of the fish. However, I enjoyed the variety of the Italian produce. I don't think that I will be going back for the fish or seafood but I will definitely go back for the other things. read more

I love this place, I live in London area but use to live in Brampton. I still go to Woodbridge for good Italian restaurants and cheese also for all seafood and Italian products at Seafood Depot. I only wish they gave cooking classes. read more

It's very sorry that they can't utilise such nice location and space to be a more attractive shopping place. I love Italian cousins so much. It is an art of cooking but also food for a healthy family. Seafood depot has lots of frozen food and less attractive fresh seafood. Besides too many non food items for who? They could be 'Eataly' or more sophisticate Italian food collection place with more live seafoods. If its possible how about simply ask each customer what they want to buy there? I drove a half hour, supposed to buy snow crab legs for Japanese hot pot but changed idea. Cause fresh lobster at another Chinese mart is more reasonable. However I bought a bottle of white balsamic vinegar that I could not find nearby supermarket. read more

in today's world not many companies I know of reach out with personal service. My first visit to Seafood Depot started great - tuna steak - his favourite- for my husband's birthday party as the main course. I received 'shucking' demonstration and tasting of 2 different oysters to ensure I would be satisfied and could prepare them. After an hour drive home and guests arriving in 2 hrs, I frantically discovered I left the bag with Tuna steaks at checkout! I called and Franca confirmed this. she realized I was Extremley upset as living a distance away I could not go back to pick it up. Shannon then came on the line and offered to drive the steaks to my home personally. Who does this? I relayed this story to my family members who now know about Seafood Depot as a quality store not only for fresh fish and seafood but personal service. The tuna with wasabi and fresh oysters were incredible. I am now sharing this with you and hope you will in turn give them your business. The owner/manager knows little about customer service. Got a box of oysters on Friday, opened it same day. Half of them were open - meaning dead, the other half smelled bad when opened. Party was ruined. I have no place in my home to keep a big box of smelly stuff and I was not sure how long will it take for me to get to the store. I had pics though. Went to the store on Monday at 1 pm, manager is not there, should be back in 2 hours. Ok, calling her, she is asking about a receipt, I have it, asking to come over. I'm driving second time there, even though it's not close. She's not there and a lady at the front tells me that she thought I have oysters. Asked to wait for manager. Spoke to her on the phone again, she was adamant that I have to return the disgusting smelling box of oysters to get a refund BECAUSE THEY need to return it to manufacturer as they won't get refund themselves... Speechless. It's not supposed to be my problem. Because of $120 the lost the customer and quite a few more. They have no quality control whatsoever! Plus poor customer service! read more
