After taking a course on oyster shucking downtown with my daughter last year we hadn't put our new found super powers to use. We got a dozen of three different varieties and then spent New Year's Eve enjoying them. While I was there I also picked up some sashimi grade salmon and tuna which we had for New Year's Day. Although the quality of fish/seafood is good, it doesn't exempt them from providing customer service. Now especially during covid-19, staff needs to polite & patient. I overheard a woman-worker ask a customer(father) to have his daughter ho wait outside; so she could get another 'buying' customer in faster. Ridiculous to ask a parent yo thtow their child outside to wait alone. I was shocked & it wiped away my prior opinions of this business. Rethink what your values are before shopping here. This is a fantastic place! I'm glad a fish market like this opened up close to home. They have a great selection of fresh and frozen fish, frozen meals ready to go and spices and sides. The staff are very knowledgable and can always recommend something. They are really friendly as well. Check out their freezer of ready to go fish. For seafood lovers, this is kid in a candy store category. You just don't get this good produce in the north and i'm ecstatic that owner Ryan chose to open up here. With a 12 year background in food, he understands the importance of quality produce, and that's exactly what you get here. I have been here a few times and always satisfied with the product. However, today I was made to feel bad for making a special request. Even though I was willing to be flexible and work within their limitations, I was made to feel like a jerk by the owner who wouldn't make eye contact and spoke over me to his associate. We have been eyeing this fish store for a few weeks....it is new in the neighbourhood, and much needed if I might say, and finally went in to purchase something for dinner. We came out of there with two lovely fresh tuna steaks and a box of fresh oysters. I can't say enough about the customer service, but the oysters and tuna were out of this world......thanks for the lovely (home cooked & cheap) meal we were able to make. This is my new go-to place for everything seafood; there is no longer a need to drive into Toronto for top-of-the-line fresh fish, and knowledgeable, friendly service. I have bought fish here now on more than 10 occasions over the past two months, and have yet to be disappointed. As mentioned in other reviews, there is also a very full line of frozen fish (the octopus, sturgeon and sardines were fabulous), condiments, smoked fish, spices - even saffron for the rouille for your bouillabaise! - oyster crackers, Acadian caviar....this is one stop shopping for anyone that likes fish, or wants to get to know fish - even the serious cook and fish lover will be thrilled. This place is amazing. The selection of wild fish is vast, shrimps are from the Gulf and there are frozen shrimps from Cuba (shrimps from India, Indonesia, Thailand, China are all full of carcinogenics, antibiotics and fed chicken feces). This market has a great selection of Oysters and Clams and they even sell fresh horseradish. The whole fish selection is great too and they will clean or filet if you would like. I've been turned off eating fish unless from a reputable resto that knows where their fish is coming from. This is limited to a few resto dtown. So this fish market is amazing. I can enjoy cooking fish at home knowing it is safe for my body. The owner is amazing and will answer any questions you have. read more

I come here on occasion. Fish and raw oysters are fresh but very expensive. I've purchased oysters, salmon, Chilean sea bass, halibut in the past. The service is non-existent and not friendly at all. Never fails, every visit. It's unfortunate. I would shop here more often if they were nicer. read more

I had a terrible experience at this store and shared my story with everyone I know !!. This place doesn't deserve your hard earned money as the owner have no integrity with the customers! I came to this store with my young child after reading all the positive reviews and ended up buying some fish. The service was ok, but not great. After returning home and checking my bill, I realized that I was overcharged by a significant amount given the weight shown on the receipt. I was distracted by my kid and didn't check the receipt at the store.. I returned to the store immediately and asked the person at the cashier (i.e. a wife of the owner) to doubt check the weight and adjust the price accordingly. I could not believe how rude, disrespectful and condescending she was after I questioned the bill! Instead of apologizing for a mistake made, she made me feel like I don't understand anything and don't speak good English! I asked for my money back and she agreed to a refund asking me if I want to speak to her husband (i.e. the owner of the sore). I was in a rush to leave after such a poor treatment and had no desire to speak to him. That moment, the owner approached me quite aggressively and start screaming at me "get out of my store and never come back!" He was so rude, belligerent and very aggressive! I was in disbelieve that he acted like this in front of his 13-14 year old son who was working at that store! How terrible is that! I shared this story with many people, and wrote a complain to the better business bureau. read more
