This place is such a hidden gem, I almost feel guilty telling people about it. It's super cute, the vibes are relaxed, and the wine is actually so good. The tasting is only $20 for 6 wines--which feels like a steal these days. There's tons of parking (bless), and the best part? You can bring your own snacks and charcuterie. My friends and I come fully prepared with boards that would make Trader Joe's proud. Affordable wine, good company, and cheese I didn't have to sneak in? Say less.

Tasting Flight: $20 for 6 1oz. pours We usually like this little winery, located in the back of a business park. Unfortunately, the service was lacking on this latest visit. The two young ladies working were mostly pleasant, but there was little interaction, and their knowledge of the wines they were pouring was not very in-depth. At one point, I felt that I knew more about their wines than they did, as we've been frequent visitors over the years. WINES: They have a decent selection of whites, rosé, and reds. We both enjoyed the '17 Chardonnay, but were split on a couple of the reds, and the others did not suit our palates this time. I was also a little disappointed that we weren't able to try their latest Natalie Grace Syrah releases ('16 & '17), or the '17 Taylor Noelle Syrah, as these have always been our favorites here. My mother-in-law had a glass of their Sangria, and I must say that it was quite nice. Overall, we were a little disappointed, and didn't purchase any bottles to take home this time. I'm sure we'll stop in again to try future releases.

It was raining on a Wednesday night and my friend didn't tell me where we going. So when he pulled into an industrial parking lot that was empty, I started thinking, did I need an escape plan?! Welp, he made another turn and Seal Beach Winery was in the back corner of this industrial parking lot. He told me we were going wine tasting (I kept my escape plan to myself hehehehehe). We entered and it was very small but nice location. In the front, it was one couple and in their second room, it was a couple people. We decided to sit at the bar so we could see /hear the rain as we did our tasting. It was 6 pours starting with white wine. I am not a Pinot Grigio kinda girl but theirs was good. Of the 6, my favorite was Sangiovese and second was their Pinot Noir. In the end, we bought a bottle of Sangiovese so we can enjoy it at home. Janay serviced us and was very nice and attentive. She answered all our questions and was knowledgeable about the wines. The one star deduction was for the older gentleman that worked there. He did not speak once nor did he even smile. He literally had a unpleasant face every time he looked at us- definitely not inviting. As I read previous reviews the following night after our wine tasting, it seems I'm not the only one who picked up on his attitude. While we were leaving, we thanked Janay and said bye, even the patrons said happy new year to us but the older gentleman took a glance at us and turned away with a repugnant vibe. Based on Janya's service and the closeness of this winery, we might return.

I found out about Seal Beach Winery recently through a Groupon deal. Purchased the Groupon (which is a really great deal). Their website has very clear information/ instruction such as "no reservation required" and "we don't serve food but feel free to bring your own cheeseboard" so that was super helpful. Since there's no reservation required, we randomly stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. The exterior was a bit hidden as they are inside a warehouse/ commercial office area and was the last unit. From outside, you can hardly tell that it's a "winery." The up side is that they have plenty of parking spaces and they a lot of indoor seats. The wines were great and so was the service! We had a good time and are fans now. It's nice to have a local place to get great wine. They seem to be having trouble with marketing maybe due to the location, so please come give it a try and spread the words!

Here's their reply to my post. We are very aware of people with disabilities. There are two other spots, and often none of the are used. We do not block the ramp up over the curb. And we always help any of our guests out to their cars or transportation if the need or request it. We choose to do events on the weekends when there is less traffic. We have members that are disabled and they appreciate our efforts to accommodate their needs. We do maybe 5 or 6 of these per year, always in the afternoon when we are the only business that is open. Note: this picture was in the morning and the ramp is blocked.

My visit to the Seal Beach Winery on 5/29/22 was great. I arrived at about 2:30PM. The place was at half occupancy. It is in an industrial part of Long Beach, CA. Once inside, it felt a bit small. The decor was no frills, yet, it was clean. I sat at the bar as most of the smaller tables were taken by couples. I didn't ask, but it seems like they were able to accommodate groups of up to 6 - possibly more. Clean restroom on site! Parking is ample and free. Their tastings are $15 for six 1-ounce pours. There are other good deals if you bring a friend along including a Yelp checkin offer: "50% off $15 Wine Tasting for 2." There is also a Yelp deal: "$35 for $50." I tried the following red wines: + 2014 Pinot Noir Clone 115 (Rio Vista Vineyard/Santa Rita Hills) + 2016 Petit Verdot (McGinley Vineyard/Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara) + 2016 Merlot (McGinley Vineyard) + 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (Estelle Vineyard/Los Olivos District) + 2016 Malbec (Taylor Noelle Wines/Happy Canyon) + 2016 Syrah (Harrison Clarke Vineyard/Ballard Canyon) I brought home a bottle of 2014 Pinot Noir Clone 115 ($43). I intend on bringing this to share with my mom and grandmother to New Mexico later this summer. It's a lighter wine that seems like it would pair well with a variety of dishes. Each tasting was presented with an excellent description of the flavors and where the grapes hailed from... my wine pourer spoke about the area much in the way that former CIA officer Bryan Dean Wright does on his daily podcast "The President's Daily Brief" - "if you look at a map..." Love geography & others who do too! I asked a plethora of questions and the gentleman working that day was not only enthusiastic about their wines, but kind and efficient as well. Made my Memorial Day weekend! TIP I brought my own cheese plate - highly recommend this to you too.

I had no clue that this cute little gem existed until I found them on Groupon. I bought a wine tasting package for two and it was worth every penny. The tasting pours were standard 1 oz for 6 wines -- 3 whites and 3 reds. All were delightful and had unique tasting profiles. My favorite red was the merlot and Chardonnay for the white. The Merlot was surprisingly complex while the Chardonnay was light and bright. Service was on point so no complaints there. While they didn't have bites when I went, the server mentioned that they'll start offering them next weekend. Go visit Seal Beach Winery if you feel like having some drinks after a tiring day or even just whenever.

When we arrived at this spot that looks like it's in a business center we were warmly greeted by a server or host and an owner. We quickly were seated and provided to tasting glasses for our experience. We didn't wait more than five minutes for the first tasting place was clean not very many people were there, so most of the attention was on us we got to ask questions about certain names and we even left with the bottle overall very good experience. I hope they have better food options, though cause drinking all that wine on an empty stomach probably not the greatest idea. The overall ambience of the winery was very chill low music decent lighting. Definitely will come back.

Nice little clean place. Is this the main event of the night? No. BUT it's a cute little pit stop in your day. They are no longer allowed to sell food so if you want charcuterie board you will need to bring your own. The wine tasting is very affordable and i enjoyed 4 out of the 6 wines very much so.

Came here for "a Summer Affair" event. They served 6 wines plus a bonus Cabernet and food. They also had tastings of olive oil and chocolate. It was a nice event. I liked the Pinot Noir, the Syrah, and the Cabernet. I was also surprised by the Grenache Blanc and the Viognier (which was stainless steel aged). I is a nice little winery with nice people. Can't ask for more... read more

Very quaint winery in the heart of Seal Beach. It was a little hard to find but so worth it! With the Yelp check in you get half off your tasting. I tried all the reds and there wasn't a bad one. Jose was so helpful and offered some of the reserve and growler wines to taste as well. I purchased a bottle of the Natalie Grace Syrah and it was simply amazing!! There are cute gifts to purchase here and also cheese and charcuterie. This is a must try for all in Seal Beach!! read more

This welcoming, quaint tasting room feels like you're enjoying wine at a friend's home. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and, most importantly, there are some good wines -- try the Tempranillo. Love the family-owned vibe. Even some of the wines are named after family. They were smart to have a Groupon, because most people don't know about this hidden gem. The only negative was no cheese/cracker plates or outside food, which gets rough for those drinking on an empty stomach. read more

Some of the best tasting wine in the OC. Right near Seal Beach i recently went to a gathering of a small group to grab some wine with tasty food as well and we had a wonderful evening there. Great Italian and California Wines are sold here as well . I bought 2 of them for my wine collection at home. Place was great. Staff here are wonderful. Its a nice place to hang out and venture into the community. read more

We went for a wine tasting. The balding middle-aged employee was coughing all the time without a mask. When he came to the table he kept coughing without covering his mouth. The wine selection is great and the other employees are friendly but that employee is unhygienic and we will never come back to this winery again. read more

Such a great experience. My husband and I did a tasting for the first time and we had a great time. So many good reds. I love the Pinot noir. Found a Groupon here for my boyfriend's birthday and had a blast! Plus I got $120 credit towards anything with the Groupon. The service was top notch! This place is a hidden gem, for sure. I never even heard about it snd I live down the street! No good due to Covid but found out while there that you can bring your own small snacks. When I'm writing, I like to seal everything off and face the wall, not to look outside the window. The only way out is through the sentences -- E. L. Doctorow And the only way out of a winery is to drink the wines :) So finding myself trapped in the Seal Beach Winery like Jesse Pinkman shackled in the meth lab I proceeded to drink my way to escape. With a friend for protection on the way to the airport, we had a Living Social deal that gave us a combined 12 tastes. Ordering a cheese plate as well endowed as Sofia Vergara, we went through their almost 20 wine listing like as choosy as a Wal-Mart shopper perusing a new shipment of mumu's. Taking a break from the lame metaphors, the Seal Beach Winery was established in 2009 by Michael Dawson, a well-respected radiologist, who guess what, we met him and he doesn't glow. They specialize primarily in wines from Santa Barbara County so you do not have to worry that you are drinking wines from a Seal Beach AVA. No seals were harmed in the making of these wines. Our guide for this tasting was their tasting room manager Marysol and she was very cool, outgoing, knowledgeable and wanted us to be honest with what we liked/disliked. The Winery's wines are balanced and food friendly and also with very good price points too! some feedback based on my hazy, lazy notes: I preferred the stainless steel viognier over the barrel fermented, the 2006 Paso Cab rocked over the 2008 (sorry but the 2006 is only offered via restraurant sales), the 2009 Grenache from Aliso Vineyard was fantastic and I enjoyed the white rhones like the Tosca's Blend (Grenache Blanc/Roussane) as well as the Santa Rita Hills pinots. Marysol, being a bit of a Betty talked me in to the wine club so that the 6 pack I ordered came out to under $120.00 which that cost included my cheese plate, glass of Paso 2006 cab wine (hey, the 12 tastes plus extras were shared), free bottle topper with Yelp check in and a partridge in a pear tree. The winery is hard to find in an industrial park where you expect to find a Los Pollos Hermanos truck making a delivery but you will be glad you made the journey. An excellent find that illustrates how businesses can use Groupon/Living Social wisely. UPDATE! One of my 8 readers, Chris D, asked if this was appointment only. They are open Friday-Sunday, no appointment necessary. They are also currently running a Yelp deal too as well as occasionally running deals on Living Social/Amazon Local. Highly recommended! read more

Ok so im not into a wine at all. LIke on a scale of 1 to 10 i wasn't on the scale. That all turned around with the help of Michael and his staff. I believe her name is amber. I took my GF here based on a groupon deal for wine tasting. If you're into wine, curious about wine, or want to earn brownie points with your lady friend, you must visit this place. It is one of the absolute best customer service ever! We made it clear to the staff that i have no idea what i am doing here other than being open minded and adventurous. My GF made it cl;ear to the staff that she drinks wine but has no idea about the differences. We had a 6 flight taste testing groupon. They asked us after each drink what we thought about it, how we would feel about this or that and on came the next wine based on their knowledge and our feedback. Between the both of us we plan on sending her parents here since they are big into wine. My sister since she wants to get into wine. We spent about 2 hours here and the time just flew. We spent the time talking about the wine, the excellent service, work , etc. It was just a good time all together. Other customers came in and had the same exact experience we did. These customer are pros at wine and regulars at the winery. They never treated us any different from them. We even shopped at their gift shop (great prices by the way. Check it out ) We walked out with a bottle of Pinot noir! we plan on coming back. I am actually on the wine scale because of the outstanding customer service, the excellent set up of groupon, the affordable prices. read more

Los Alamitos tasting room would be a spot on name for this place... It is located in a business warehouse park. The size of the initial tasting room can accommodate a dozen people. The back room can hold roughly 10 people comfortably. There is a gift shop in the back and a quaint banquet hall upstairs with room for about 20 people. I came here for a groupon tasting with the girlfriend. Our server James was extremely helpful with the entire wine tasting experience. We ended up getting the regular membership and a growler of wine to go. I highly recommend this place to individuals who are new to the whole wine scene. The employees here will take their time and explain the simple things, like letting the wine roll across one's tongue to pick up the full flavor. Wine members get unlimited wine tastings, so I will be bringing my brother and his wife here for a wine tasting session in the near future. read more

When I was here about 3 years ago with a Groupon, they had a decent number of wines, but not a huge number, and all the wines we tried were good, but none of them were amazing, so I never bothered to go back. Luckily, my mom didn't know we'd already been there once years ago, knew we liked good wine, and independently found the place on Groupon and sent us a present a couple months ago, so we were forced to come back (thanks, mom!). I'm happy/excited to report, wow, there has been a *huge* difference in the past couple years. Our tasting included 6 wines each, and they have more than 12 wines to choose from now, across a pretty wide range, so it was a bit of a hard choice. Of the 12 wines we tried, there were only 2 I didn't think were great (notably, I thought their rose was pretty underwhelming), and fully half of them (all the whites we tried, one of the two syrahs, and especially the grenache - oh *man* that grenache) were just mindblowingly good. Really wish we could have tried all of them, but I suppose we'll just have to wait a few months (so there'll be enough new releases to try another 12 total) and then come back! (Midweek, because they have 2-for-1 tastings with yelp checkin, only valid Wednesday/Thursday. I don't care about 2-for-1 wine tastings usually, because that often just means you get twice as much of the same 5-6 wines, and the point of a wine tasting is to try a bunch of wine, not to get drunk, so I don't usually mind sharing one tasting with my wife. But here, you really want to be able to try 12 wines!) Everyone there was super friendly, helpful, and knew a lot about all the wines they had open, and I still think the growler fill idea is a cool one. Their charcuterie (if it doesn't come with your Groupon) is a bit pricey, but arguably worth it - the cheese comes from Cheese Addiction, so you know it'll be excellent cheese across the board. And seriously. That grenache was just amazing. read more

The BF and I wanted to do some wine tasting before we headed into LB. I had read the reviews on Yelp and decided to check this place out. It is located in an industrial area, no worries. Upon our arrival, they were having a their summer events. The BF knabbed a sports collared polo for $12 with Seal Beach Winery on it, yeah:) We got to sample 5 wines and njoy some appetizers, crackers, cheeses, fresh fruits, and vegetables, etc... There was also grilled chicken, rice, salad, grilled vegetables, nom nom nom. Had a great time. Service was great. Look forward to taking our friend back to wine taste with us. read more

We live close by but didn't know about it until recently. We had a great experience and will be back! We were treated to a lot of information about the wines and the experience felt very personal. We enjoyed all of the wines we tasted and bought a few bottles for Thanksgiving. Just a heads up - the location itself is a little hidden. It is in a business park and it is a little further from the street than other units in the park. But once you get inside, you'll see it's an adorable little tasting room. read more

The service is good. The wine is good. The location is very hidden and in an unattractive lot. I also agree that with Jose no longer working there, it is not as warm and inviting. I was excited to introduce my friends to this place, but without Jose, it was definitely not the same experience. read more

Went for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I have been to a lot of wineries and tasting rooms in California and this place was definitely one of the nicer tasting rooms. The wines that we tried all were very tasty and the service was excellent! We left with 2 bottles. Recommend checking it out! read more

My sister gifted us a wine tasting which upon arrival at the location we were a bit confused/skeptical as it is a small location in the back of an industrial park. However, once inside it was a cozy and quaint atmosphere. She purchased us a groupon that included 6-1oz tastings and a cheese/salami plate. All the wines were quite tasty, and the 6 tastings were more then enough...actually we were unable to get through all 6 because we had dinner reservations but were more than satisfied with the 4 we received. Staff was friendly, we will definitely be returning. read more

Food here was awesome! I came with my gf and friends, staff was so friendly and our server Andrea was the best! She made so many great recommendations on food and wine. The empanadas were delicious and the wrapped dates melt in your mouth, meat and cheese plate its wonderful, fig and goat cheese so jummy. Will definitely come back. Came here with a Groupon and what a deal! Quaint location (a little confusing to find if not paying attention to the GPS, as it is in a business block). Great service, wine was decent, perfect for a date or for the stop and go enthusiast. Deal came with six pours for two people and a cheese plate( brought to you by cheese addiction) to cleanse the palette & a glass of your choice after. A recent out of town visitor wanted to do some wine tasting in the area. Since we were short on time, I did a quick search of "wine tasting" locally and lo and behold, up popped SBW with a gazillion stars. Then I saw a friend's review (he knows his wine and for me, gave the place some credibility!) I thought, "How has this place been under my nose all this time?" Although I was still skeptical, and am by nature, we decided to take a chance and make an adventure out of the afternoon by mapping out a bike route and avoiding any potential DUIs later on! Twenty minutes or so later, we arrived to this little industrial park with a "Winery!" banner out front. The place is very cute and cozy and the wines, well, let me just say that I will never drive to Temecula or Solvang again. This place boasts some fantastic wines at great prices! And Marisol was a great hostess. I have to say that I am not a fan of wine clubs but her pressure-free pitch convinced me: 2 shipments (pick ups) per year; 15% discount on wines; free UNLIMITED tastings for me and a +1; and invitations to wine club member events. I was sold! For the record, there were some wines that I enjoyed more than others BUT I didn't have the urge to purge any of them. If you go and want to enjoy a glass, make sure you try a glass of the $5 stuff they have on tap in the back. Amazing! If they end up opening a tasting room on Main Street this summer, well, that would just be icing on the cake. Or, perhaps, some cheese with a nice cab. :) UPDATE: after being a wine club member for only a few months, I decided it simply wasn't for me so I'm bumping them down a star. Between not getting email notifications and then being charged for a shipment and not being notified my pickup was ready, well, I don't like that type of modus operandi. Also, I asked how much a typical "shipment" would cost (was told "around 80-90) but instead was charged closer to 110. All that plus the fact I was given too many bottles of white when I specifically asked about getting mostly reds, well, I don't think the Club is for me. I'll still go here from time to time, but customer service is important, especially if I'M the customer. :) read more

Due to scheduling conflicts with two groups of friends, I came here on two different occasions for wine tastings. The first time I came here, I was disappointed to find that this place is located in an area that looks like office buildings in Los Alamitos, about a 15 minute drive from Seal Beach. I'm not quite sure how it has the name Seal Beach Winery, when it's not in Seal Beach and it's not a winery. I think tasting room would be a more appropriate name for this place. The first time I came, they stuck our group of 6 in the back room which looks like a storage room/gift shop. We weren't particularly thrilled by the wines, although some were better than others. The growler concept seemed odd to us for wine, and the wine served from the growlers were not our favorites. Our server was very nice and friendly, but she accidentally spilled red wine on one of us when she tried carrying multiple wine glasses that still had a bit of wine in them, but she did bring by a spray that pretty much zapped the wine off, which was pretty cool. We felt like we were on an infomercial for that wine spray zapper thing. Second time I came, I had much lower expectations and we were seated in their tasting room, which has a much better ambiance than the storage room. Our server was also very nice during this second visit. They also have little bottles of water and chocolates that you can grab on your way out, which is definitely a plus. The front of this place and tasting room definitely has a neighborhood bar kinda feel with friendly staff. It's just such an odd location! I don't plan to come back here, but it was a good experience and a nice opportunity to hangout with friends. read more

$15 for 6 one ounce pours. That is the equivalent of one glass of wine. I typically drink white wines, and they had a very poor selection of these. One Pinot Grigio, two Chardonnays, and one weird white blend. Of these, I only tolerated the Pinot Grigio and one of the Chardonnays. My Daughter who mostly drinks Cabernets described the Red Blend as toilet water. Most definitely not to her liking. The service was good, and they did put together a nice cheese plate, but that was about all they had going for them. I am a no go on any return visits to this place. read more

I love being a member here! The new staff is amazing and the wine is perfect! I used to come in and an old staff member was always rude and egotistical (I think he name was Jose). We would always sit at a far away table to avoid him and his trivia games that would make us feel dumb. The new staff is WAY BETTER. I am proud to be at a member that values having kind staff paired with the best wine around! The Taylor Noelle wines are my favorite too. My boyfriends name is Taylor and mine is Noelle so we feel like it is meant to be! read more

Although I really like Seal Beach Winery, I do have to ding them for their special events. First, let me say the wine is really good, well-priced, and I love the growler program. The staff have always been friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. The winery is cute and cozy. We are members and will continue to visit and purchase wines at Seal Beach. The special events though - not working for us. There must be something I'm missing. If we come at any other time, as members we can each get 6 free tastings. However, for the last event, we paid $20 for 4 tastings and access to some store bought snacks. Huh? We werent quite sure why we went. I guess we were expecting better food and/or bigger pours. The pours were meager, barely a single swallow. Someone else on Yelp complained about that too. Bottom line is that we will continue to shop at Seal Beach, but we do not plan on attending any other special functions. Hopefully they will get a better handle on the events in the future. read more

We process Santa Barbara grapes and make wine. We have a fully functional winery and bottling facilitiy. Small lots of interesting varietals and quality wines at reasonable prices are our specialty. Seal Beach Winery also specializes in parties, charity events and private tastings with a beautiful Banquet room and upstair private wine tasting bar. In addtion, we offer wine merchandise for the wine collector, parties and events.

Established in 2009.

We are a boutique winery specializing in small production, high quality varietals from the Santa Barbara, Paso Robles, Edna Valley and Sonoma Regions. High quality, affordable and varied wines are produced for our valued consumer. The Tasting Room was established to provide a location that our wines could be enjoyed in a Wine Bar setting. Complete with two wine tasting bars, an upstairs banquet hall and gift shop. Our location also allows us to host charity events, parties and private tasting events. In addition to our tasting room, Seal Beach Wines are found in local Southern California Restaurants and many retail stores such as Whole Foods. Please come join us to see our tasting room, enjoy a fine glass and become a regular at our establishment.

Meet the Business Owner: Michael D.

Beginning with very small lots of Santa Maria grapes, Michael processed his first wines in 2006 as a home winemaker. Feeling that there was nothing like the actual hands on experience; he dove in to learn by experience. Driving up the 101 in his truck to pick up the grapes, driving home and then crushing/destemming the grapes followed by yeast inoculation was extended in the wee hours of the following morning. A natural extension from small lot winemaking was to become a bonded Winery. Being able to increase production, experiment with a greater number of grape varieties and open to the public were the inspiring factors to the establishment of Seal Beach Winery. The present site of in Los Alamitos was established at the end of the year 2009. Always searching for different areas of quality grapes and wines are a constant process that Michael undertakes. The vineyards are continuously assessed and evaluated to determine if the quality remains high to produce the best wine.

When I checked the movie schedule online last night, I saw an 11:30 AM showtime, so we left early in the morning to make it on time. However, when we got there, we were told that the 11:30 AM showing did not have Korean subtitles. We had driven all the way there specifically so my mom could watch the movie with Korean subtitles, so we had no choice but to buy four tickets for the 1:15 PM showing, which did have Korean subtitles. While we were waiting, we bought nachos there, charged our cell phones, and relaxed for a while and had lunch in that mall. Being able to charge our phones was a huge plus. Also, one of the female employees, who was quite tall, was very kind and told us that there was a seating area toward the back of the theater. Thanks to her, we were able to sit there for a while, charge our phones, and eat our nachos. However, there were two women's restrooms inside the theater. One of them had no hand soap at all. I went and told the female employee, and she asked me, "There's no hand soap at all?" I said there was none at all. She then told me there was another women's restroom on the other side, so I went there, and that restroom did have soap. Before the movie started, I went back to the first restroom because it was closer to the theater, but even after more than two hours, there was still no hand soap at all. I was very disappointed, so I had to go to the restroom that was much farther away from the theater. Overall, this theater has a lot of good points. The staff is friendly, the seats are pretty comfortable, the theater is clean and pleasant, you can charge your cell phone, and parking is free. Also, for older people like my mom who want to enjoy the latest Hollywood movies with Korean subtitles, that is definitely the biggest advantage. However, I do have two suggestions: I hope they maintain the restrooms better. If there is no soap at all in the restroom, it does not seem right that no one refills it for more than two hours. I wish they would provide Korean subtitles for all showtimes. If that is not possible, I hope they clearly indicate on their website which showtimes have Korean subtitles and which ones do not. We came from far away, so it was very disappointing to find out that the 11:30 AM showing did not have Korean subtitles. Because of that, we ended up wasting two hours even though we had driven all the way there specifically for the Korean subtitles.

I debated about writing a review- the Seal Beach Winery is so awesome, I don't want to tell other people because I want it all to myself :D But, for the greater good, I decided to finally write a review. We came here for my husband's birthday- it was a last minute private tasting for 6 of us. Despite the time crunch, they were more than happy to accommodate us. The building is in a nondescript business park, but don't be fooled! This is a lovely place to relax and have a glass of wine. If you are lucky enough to enjoy the private tasting room, its charming and modern and is fantastic for a group or party. Not only did they offer us a six pour tasting at a very economical price, they provided a wonderful spread of food that was just dreamy. The wines are fabulous- I actually enjoyed every single one, which is rare for me. Mike, the winemaker, has so much knowledge about each one, that I felt like we learned something, too! He told us about the history, the chemistry and the flavor profiles for each. He was fun and engaging, didn't come across as intimidating or stuffy at all (which some winemakers are). He and his wife Jenny are very passionate about what they are doing and it shows in their excellent care for their wine and their patrons. Yes, I'm a wino, and we know this. And SBW is definitely on my A-list when it comes to enjoying excellent wine without having to trek out to Temecula, Sta Barbara or (gasp! heaven forbid I do it again) Malibu. Fantastic wines at even better prices. And urban wine treat like no other!! Small cozy tasting room with plenty of both red and white varietals to choose from. I came here for the first time back in December for their holiday party so this review is VERY delayed, but I've been a regular since. A must for those urban wine explorations!! read more

Seal Beach Winery is a hidden treasures. We enjoy the wines alot and are members of their wine club. Love that is is do very local to our home. Vineyards are in the Santa Inez area and produce a wide variety of whites and reds. Staff members are very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. read more
