This is the place for you!…read more We went there as a small group and got wristbands for unlimited rides for the day - we arrived there at 11am and the place was pretty empty- so a brilliant time to try as many rides as possible with no queues!! We had a break at lunch - the sun was shining so we enjoyed ourselves in the courtyard in the middle where the stage and giant screen were. There were 3 food vendors- we tried 2 of them. For both of them the food was nice, fresh and tasty. 1 bar was open (no queues so no need to open another one at the same location, but the amenities are there for the high season), not a super wide range but everything was decent and prices were reasonable for a theme park / venue by the sea. After lunch, as the sun was shining there was more people, but still didn't have to queue for any of the rides. We went to the indoor arcade as well - there is also an indoor roller disco. Looking at the ceilings, it's not the best view- clearly it needs a bit of renovation. Within Dreamland , there are a few toilet facilities, all of them were clean. Good news - new water ride coming in July!

This is a lovely place…read more It is great for a walk or to take the children or pets. They have a fishing lake, an animal park with chickens and goats that you can feed. They also have horses which if your not scared of them like me, you can ride. They have a nice little cafe serving hot food and bevereges. You may fish in the lake but you strictly have to put the fish back and you need a licence. Great place for relaxing and for the family

The Medway Estuary is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and is extremely important for the bird life which feed along the mudflats. You can walk alongside the river, through the meadows or in the nature reserve and it is so peaceful. I find it really restful and enjoyable. The dog enjoys himself too!

We spent most of the day in the amusement arcade that has rides catered for toddlers and grown ups. Next time you're coming to Southend on a day-trip, don't follow everyone else who gets off the C2C line at Southend Central and walks through the town to Three Shells Beach. Stay on to the end of the line and you're in for a treat. East Beach is actually a beach with sand, rather than the small stones which cripple you on your way to the water at Southend's other beaches. The water is great for windsurfing and you don't have to rely on high tide the way you do with the Estuary-side beaches. There is also a huge grassy area before the beach so if sand isn't your thing, you can always set up a few deckchairs and catch some sun. For those who drive, the parking is plentiful although there is a pay and display system. The only thing letting this little gem down is the lack of refreshments available. There was a snack bar by the beach, but this burned down a few years ago and hasn't been rebuilt. It wasn't very good anyway. I understand there are plans to for a new restaurant but this could be some time coming.
