My Monique Lhuillier wedding gown needed taken in (and shortened) significantly, and it was complicated because the dress had boning to support a cowl-neck shape in the front and a delicate deep-V, lace back with multiple buttons. I also had Judy add a wrist loop because I needed an easy way to gather the dress while my husband and I eloped on Kebler Pass in Crested Butte. Judy tailored the dress with preciscion and excellence, sharing ideas while doing it and really listening so that we could make the dress exactly what I'd hoped for. We communicated the entire time, through multiple fittings, and I always felt invovled and confident in the outcome and deadlines. Judy is so talented and dedicated to what she does, and her pricing is fair and transparent. I've gone back a few times to have her take in skirts, pants, and now a mother-of-the bride dress and Burberry jacket that are three sizes too big. If you are looking for a fantastic tailoress and person, look no further than Judy! She truly is the best.

She is a perfectionist in the best way, and truly wants to make sure she makes your dream vision come true. She altered my wedding gown and it turned out amazing, she made my strapless dress stay in place! The bustle was also done perfect. Highly recommend.

My experience with this seamstress way very okay-at-best…read more Pros: She comes to your house, which is very convenient. She did an okay job hemming the dress. She was very responsive to texts and communication. Cons: When I first met with her, I told her to save the extra fabric for me to keep. When I requested the fabric, she informed me that she didn't have it. No apology, no explanation, simply informed me. During our fittings, she would agree to alternations that didn't end up happening. I wasn't ultimately happy with how the bodice or the straps fit, but I didn't leave myself enough time to find someone else (that's on me). She sewed a pin into the hem of the dress, which ended up hurting one of my bridesmaids.

I wish I could say that I had a positive experience, but I do feel compelled to caution other brides against using Seams to B. She had my dress for 4 months and then I requested to take it back after I could no longer trust her. This was my honest experience. The vibes were off from the beginning. Penny is very quiet - she will not be your hype woman or ask you any questions about how you are feeling in the dress as she's making changes. For fittings, she comes to your house after she's done some alterations and just stands awkwardly in the corner while you're left to your own devices. Communication about each stage of the process was severely lacking for me. Oftentimes she would verbally list off what she would do before the next fitting and then show up next time without having done what she had promised. The first few fittings I let it slide - I'd never done this before and certainly altering a wedding dress is a lot of work. Then the situation worsened. The red flags became too much to ignore when she would ask me at multiple fittings, "when are you getting married again?". It started to become very clear that Penny is not "on top of it" as a business owner in this industry should be and doesn't take any notes. She started forgetting things I had asked for with the dress - the color of the lining she sewed in was wrong (nude when I said I wanted white), the size of the cups were too big (she had put the original ones in that came with the dress when I told her I needed A cups), etc. I decided it was the last straw when I sent her an inspiration picture of how I wanted the bodice to fit me because after FIVE fittings it still wasn't right, and she basically said the dress was already fitting that way and that there wasn't really anything she could do. Considering that my breasts were drowning in too-big cups and that there was too much fabric in the bust in general, including straps that were falling down all the time, this was very discouraging. I lost all confidence in how I felt in my dress that day. Having now taken my dress to a different seamstress, I am feeling regret that I wasted so much time and money using Seams to B, as I will have to pay for them to re-do some of the work that was done poorly. On the bright side, I was reassured that this dress CAN be made to fit me in the way that I want, which is how all brides should be supported and lifted up during their alterations.

Mitzi came to my place, did a fitting in a few minutes, and had my dress hemmed 3 days before I needed it! It was beautifully done, and she even found a place on the back of the dress that gapped awkwardly (that I wouldn't have seen myself until the day of), and fixed it for free. I am so glad I trusted her with this gown!

Absolutely atrocious work done on a…read morebridesmaid dress... so bad that I had to buy a NEW dress days before traveling for a destination wedding. She told me it would be done within a week - I had to follow up with her to see if it was done over a week later and then she happened to not be there when I picked it up so had no option to try it on. As soon as I got home I looked at the work and texted her right away expressing my extreme disappointment and asked for a refund. She completely ruined the slit, the stitching was terribly crooked, hem was uneven, and she created a double seam in the skirt line - the most prominent part of the dress. After going back and forth on text she refunded half of the $185 I was charged - refusing to acknowledge how bad it was and at one point said it was a cheaply made dress so it was the best she could do. All I asked for was a full refund given that I had to buy a new dress and rush shipping. Everyone who has seen the photos has been APPALLED - including the saint who was able to turn around a quick hem on the new dress. I was out hundreds of dollars with the entire ordeal not to mention the stress the whole situation caused. Unable to share photos but they are included on my Google Review.
