Although Dave gave such a warming response when I initially requested the service, that was not the experience I received once I actually arrived. The seamstress was very curt and rude upon entry on the establishment. When she did come from around the back of the store, she abruptly snatched my daughter's dress out of my hand, took my request and gave me my yellow sip for pick up. End of discussion. The big problem came when it was time to grab the prom dress. Now in fairness, I was 8 minutes late to the location, since running around for this special event. However, I did call but when I received no answer, I figured that she was just busy. To my small heart attack, the establishment was closed. I was devasted to say the least! I would've really liked a phone call to say "Hey, I'm leaving soon", or "Are you still picking up the dress", something or anything for that matter. Especially seeing that it was a special event. I honestly, would've appreciated a little customer service moment, that would've made all the difference with being a first time customer. I will say that after I called my friend for help, she got in contact with the owner (I presume) and managed to get her to come back and open the shop so I can get my daughter's prom dress. Thank Goodness for good friends, right?!! I'm not sure if I would return or not but I'm definitely not using the place for urgent needs or special requests. Good customer service is really about those tiny steps to make every customer feel like they're appreciated for choosing your business, and I hope no one else has to go through this experience. read more

I had a dress hem that I needed sewn relatively quickly. It was for a wedding that was 2 weeks away at the time i brought it in. The hem was an irregular line so there was some degree of difficulty with the work. The result was not good. 1. There were serious communication problems. The staff there did not understand what i wanted and did not really take time or try to understand how i wanted it stitched. They nodded and said "ok" when i explained, but went ahead and did it the wrong way despite my calling them back after i had dropped the garment to try to clarify what I wanted. I tried to explain repeatedly how i wanted it sewn but they still got it wrong. 2. They charged me $120 to sew the seam around the bottom hem of a skirt. I think this is too much and i think they intentionally price gouged me because they knew it was for an important event and they knew I had a short deadline. At first when i was dropping it off, they said "between eighty and one-twenty". When i picked it up it was $120. Too much i think even if they had done it right which they didnt but at that point I didnt have any time left to argue or negotiate with them. 3. Upon further inspection, they had opened up a seam in the lining to be able to sew the hem from the inside (which was exactly what i had asked them not to do. I wanted it sewn from the outside with a wide over-edge or zig-zag stitch to form a thick visible hem) but the problem was that they didnt close the seam they had opened in the lining back up. Thats just shoddy work. They gave the dress back with a 3 foot seam ripped open in the lining. So i paid $120 for about 5 feet of stitching two layers of satin. They did it wrong and they left a new 3 foot seam open that now needs to be resewn. I think that these people dont care much about quality work or customer satisfaction or communication. read more

Brought In two dresses for alterations. The height of dress was updated correctly but the other work was not done as planned. I had to extend the pick up date once as the work was not completed on time. When I picked up the dresses she charged me over $200. (Probably my own fault for not asking charges before hand.) It was obvious the rest of the work on the dress was never done so I was basically charged to shorten two dresses for $200! outrageous! So look out for incomplete work, extended time frames and overpricing! :( read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. I brought in a new suit to get it altered (jacket sleeves taken up, waist and seat taken in on the slacks) on May 24th. I was given a ticket with the price of the alterations on it ($38). I picked up the suit on May 28th. On May 30th while wearing the suit the seat seam came undone exposing my underwear. Instead of asking for my money back I decided to be a nice customer and let them redo/ finish the job. I bring the slacks back in June 3rd was informed it would be no issue did not get a new ticket and was told to come back on June 4th (today). Upon arrival I was told I owe $5 extra for "labor". I have an issue with this seeing the job was not done correctly to begin with. I will not be returning here. They only accept cash or check anyway. It is an all around unprofessional establishment. Save yourself some time and effort and find another tailor... Update: I see the owner of the establishment has replied to my original post. I once again state the original job was to bring the seat and waste in of my slacks. The seat seam came undone within a day of wearing the slacks. I was not planning on returning anyway. The owners waived the $5 fee after threatening to remove the stitching they did. Naturally I got angry. Inexcusably I used profanity to express my anger. The original job was done sloppily and poorly and then they charge me for extra work/ labor that I did not receive a ticket for. They don't accept credit or debit and expect cash or check. Not everyone carries cash or checks, and to not communicate extra cost before pickup is plain sneaky and wrong. read more

Took 3 Limited tank tops and 1 Forever 21 dress to be taken in, cost $64. I buy cheap clothes so alterations could be as much as the clothes but I learned a lot. She is knowledgeable and discusses why she may not be able to take in as much. She's honest about when it's more cost effective to just buy a new pair of pants or dress. She has good integrity so if you're looking for a quality skill set it's worth the cost. read more

Well done! I brought a pair of pants to see if a hole could be repaired. I hadn't sewed before and didn't have a sewing kit so I was apprehensive about trying to sew a hole by myself. I was grateful that it was closed with a pattern to reinforce the area, and the repair was well done--minimally noticeable. Thankfully, I can wear one of my favorite pairs of pants again. I brought in a dress which needed some major alterations to make it fit right, and I was worried that it wouldn't turn out well because it has a lace overlay that seemed like it would be tricky to work with.
